    Thanks for the video. I have to go do the same repair for a customer. I like that you put in threaded connections so it is easy for the next guy!

    Nice work! I’ve never seen such a clean and neat drywall cutout. Great camera placement to let us see the action.

    This is exactly how I do this repair for these types of boxes with boiler drains. Exactly! I always use female adapters instead of just soldering the valve to the copper to make it easier for the next guy and less expensive for the customer when the valves need to be replaced again. I am a plumber - not a drywall or paint contractor, so I leave the square-cut piece of drywall in place just like you did, however, I will usually duct tape the piece to the wall unless the customer is certain they are going to get it repaired right away. Good job!

    Nice video. I would have chosen to replace the box as well as it was ugly. Also, I wouldn’t be happy leaving the drywall loose like that.

    Hey Tim,
    Love your videos!
    Why didn't you just sweat the hose bibb directly to the copper and save on the female adapter?

      Most Good Plumbers won't use Sharkbite however it is code
      And plumbing code allows you to use them behind walls

      No I wasn't disagreeing with your decision to use Shark bite. It's absolutely code. And they claim to warranty their product.

    Why not valve with hammer arrestor?

    • @brucestorey917
      @brucestorey917 Год назад

      A valve with an integral hammer arrestors would be impractical/impossible for this repair. If a hammer arrestors is needed, one can be attached to the hose connection later.
