I think you need to paint the dark wood window frames white it will look better if you don't mind me saying. If you tape out the size of the furniture you are thinking of buying and place it on the floor you can get a better idea of what it will look like and where to put place the pieces.

I think two small couches facing each other on either side of the fireplace would look very nice. You could add a couple of soft chairs at the end with a coffee table in the middle. Just a thought. Your house is going to be beautiful. Can't wait to see it all completed - bet you can't too.
Yes I love this idea too but my only concern is that the fireplace isn't centred in the room? What do you think?
I really don't think it would look bad. I think you could put a console table with a lamp on it with maybe a large standing plant in the corner. You could even add a beautiful, big picture above the table. Instead of a console table you could even put a bar cart (I don't know if you drink or not). I know you are thinking of adding shelving next to the fireplace eventually, so you probably don't want another bookcase. Also you could put an ottoman in that area. There is so much you could do with that space. You might want to look at Pinterest to see if you can get some ideas from that venue. Good luck and have fun most of all.

Just a little bit of advice if you don't mind... take it or leave it. It is REALLY hard to live in your home when construction is going on. I would think it would be even worse with a baby. It's not only the noise and tons of dust & dirt getting everywhere - but just having people in your house *every single day* is really hard. I wouldn't be in a big hurry to move in until it's completed. xo

would suggest thinking about putting a 'backless couch' in de living room in front of the big windows. :) Like a daybed. This way you keep the beautiful view. Put a big couch (3 seeter) in front of the fire place and 2 nice chairs on the side. I think that would look very nice and keep the living room light and airy :)
Of course 1 year old can! That‘s theire way to realize the world. She become a little bigger girl 👶🏼👧🏼. I can tell this, because i have 4 girls ! 🥰💫
Well Elanna. The house is really coming together! I think maybe for the new living room and nice corner suite with an armchair. I'd get it in a darker colour because from experience of having a toddler any spillage is a nightmare to clean on a bright coloured sofa! Maybe for the windows go for Venetian blinds..modern and look like shutters! Good for if sun is shining on TV. With that new wood flooring it's going to look gorgeous in the hall. Can't wait to see the pics! Xx
Ah! The house is looking great! I say yes to curtains. I find they really pull a room together and make it feel softer and homier. I’m also so jealous of the beautiful weather you guys are having. We’re all freezing our butts off, armpit deep in snow here in New Brunswick! 😩

Maybe Olive feels she's not getting your full attention when you blog. I remember when my son ( now 25) was about Olive's age often would show displeasure when my attention would shift to another endeavor. It will change. She loves you. House looking great. Be well dear.
I was wondering if you could do a breastfeeding experience video. Like how long how to stop was it hard or easy for you?!... im mom to a 4month old and will now try to stop. It has been a struggle and i am mentaly tired..
My kiddos had night terrors between 15 months and 2 and a half years. The pediatrician said they are most likely about worries they have at that age, like not being able to find a parent, or being alone. It's also possible she just ate something that didn't agree with her tummy and that caused some tummy pain and puking. Glad she looked like she was feeling better later. Seriously you guys have done such a beautiful job envisioning how to redesign with color and texture in this house. Just beautiful! Can't wait to see the kitchen when it's done!
A contractor with good communication makes the world of a difference!! We had good ones and one I wish I had stuck to my guns and said no to. Such are learning curves in renos.

When you decorate and furnish your living room, just remember that it isn't necessary to anchor your furniture to a wall. I always like it better when it's not because I feel it just looks better that way. Your home is really coming along and you've done a really good job. xo
