Bought XCeed 1.5 t-gdi, 160 hp, 7 dct, MY 2024 in May 2024. Cruising at 140-160 km/h is quite stable. Tested it on a few 20s occassions in a Sport mode for speeds 180-200 km/h. It is not as bad as you would think nor unstable, but this is not the purpose of this car. At that speeds you lack a downforce thus the feeling of the instability. I must mention the difference between the Normal and Sport mode. In normal mode you would never say this car has 160 hp. Its purpose is to accelerate as smooth as possible while not feeling the push of your body to the seats. The real charachter of the engine is available in the Sport mode, since the control of the engine is then trying to maintaing the rpms at an interval (approx. 1500-4000 rpm) enabling/unlocking a constant torque of 253 Nm - you'll have the feeling of an electric car. Of course, not considering the noise of the engine, which is btw quite revvy but also very well isolated. I tested WV, Skoda, Toyota, MG etc. But in this price range around 30k euros, this was the optimal choice. Also, R16/215/60 are more comfy than R18/235/45, but the car is much better looking with the R18s, more agile and stable. Kind regards from Slovenia.
Yep, exactly. That car is for going 130-150 km/h on the highway and to be comfortable during that. Sport mode is a must in this car, the normal mode is really just for cruising on the highway, maybe not even that. I would still prefer the Ceed SW or Proceed but I get that the height is a dealbreaker sometimes. Enjoy the car!
As an owner of a GT-line Xceed i totally disagree on the stability at higher speeds, personally i find it pretty stable even when at 180-200 km/h. And i'm coming from hothatches fiesta ST 2019 / Cupra Leon 300 2018 which obviously are superior cars when it comes to performance. You shouldn't buy this car thinking about performance, it's a compact family car with decent luxuries and good ride quality for its price that can provide you with decent fun when you need it on twisty roads and some higher top speeds, it's certainly a driver's car compared to other cars on its segment. I'd recommend potentinal buyers to ignore the above statement shown in the video.
It is definitely down to one's feelings. My feelings were that the car wasn't stable at high speeds at all. I will have the car one more time and I will try to test it out again, but from what I could drive, it did not feel good at all. And I am coming from some more precise cars as well. But nevertheless I am happy with what you said because it confirms that people have different tastes! :)
@@AllCarsAndBikes Sorry but saying "the car wasn't stable at high speeds at all" is an overexaggeration and totally not true, nothing to do with driver's taste but with an objective fact. I was driving the car just last night and was turning on a highway with 180-190 km/h and didn't feel the back or the car being unstable AT ALL. The car was running smooth and i was feeling totally in control. It surely is not the same as a proceed/ceed which are sitting a lot lower or anything like a hothatch though.
@@stevel3788 as I said, it is what I felt in that moment and I only have these cars for a few hours of driving so I don’t have a full view on the car. As I said, and I stand by it, the car was very unstable on the road where I’ve gone 199.
Thanks for your feedback mate... I ordered the 1.5TGDI Xceed (Gt Line) two months ago and i am waiting for it. I also come from hothatches (VW Scirocco iii, Mini Cooper S R56) and did my research before ordering it. Unforunately i didn't have the chance to drive it the way i wanted (the testdrive was very confined let's say). I have though to admit that this comment ,about the instability at high speeds, has influenced me negatively.. i mean yea ok u don't expect to be as subtle or firm as a hothatch, but unstable at 150km? That's another thing.. Hope to be as u said above...Cheers!
"Young family with 1 kid that like a bit more comfort in their life." That is precisely my situation. I'm not 60 yet, lol, 44 this year but I have a bit of a knackered knee so this car will be absolutely perfect for me. 😬
Oh yeah totally. I currently drive a 2013 ceed so I'm familiar with Kia. I really want to try that DCT though, I can't tell you how many times I wish for an automatic whenever I'm sitting in traffic!
Tomorrow I get my XCeed 1,5 T-GDI 160hv Business Premium (Not GT Line) . Watched this video like ten times. 😅 I like your style! Greetings from Finland!
Thank you so much for bringing this car! Shame for the instability at higher speeds but I'm very happy to see that it does basically everything quite well. Even though I'm not a big fan of SUVs and crossovers, the design of this one really does it for me, in fact its height is not excessive when compared to a C segment hatch. By the way, did you try the sound system? I've heard that the stock one isn't very great, and the JBL system is only slightly better. Once again, thanks a lot for the review, I enjoy watching yours a lot and the fact you always do the same tests and drive on the same stretches of road with all the cars you try is a major selling point in my opinion. Keep it up!
Thank you for your kind words, I do these reviews on the same roads to be able to compare them directly! I don't think many POV reviewers do this. I did try the JBL system, not on video because I do not have the equipment to test it currently, saving up for a GoPro still to use my phone to test more stuff like this in the car. The system is awesome compared to the stock one. I'll bring more in later videos! Should have a very interesting car for testing after weekends, stay tuned!
199kph =123 mph can think of many cars that show signs of instability at that speed, it's not a sports tourer it's a a family based X over which is unlikely to be driven at that speed.
Yes! The XCeed suffers from its height! It’s 4 cm higher than classic Ceed which means worse acceleration, worse fuel consumption and worse stability. As mentioned in the video, this car is about comfort and it does that very well!
@@AllCarsAndBikes Thank you for your reply ! I know that both are new cars, but wht do you think about reliability ? After 10 years from now, with which brand will I stay safer and cheaper ?

It's true. GT Line 1.5 or 1.6 with XCeed is the SAME EXACT thing. Difference between GT Line and GT in Proceed is massive though. Would love to test drive GT Line Proceed, probably will never get the chance. Enjoy!
