Found out more info on this. Its a W. Virginia Civil War era tune. Lots of great history. I can see why it would be played more mournfully.

the tune is actually called "Elswick's Farewell", although it is more typically written "Elzic's Farewell"..........and is usually played quite a bit more mournfully. :) AWESOME playing, though!!!
