@@bentheturntableguy182 I'll just say that I've known the creator his entire life as for @Finch Hufstedler, I haven't met that person yet but look forward to it whenever I get the chance to actually visit my brother.
The Ayotte rack and pinion throw-off does the same thing, and it's been around ~30+ years. The company seems to be all but dead, so getting ahold of one will be very difficult, but the idea isn't new.
Very cool design and great video as always. I realize it wasn’t the intended focus of this one and maybe you’ve spoken about it in another but I’d be interested in your thoughts on those heavy duty types of rims enhancing or choking resonance.
The drum sounds great, although the lugs are maybe just a bit tacky. I'm not a fan of angled throw-off levers (when the lever isn't parallel to the plane of rotation), but at least it isn't nearly as bad as Trick's. The throw-off's functionality isn't new - Ayotte's rack and pinion throw-off has been around for decades. But who knows what's going on with that company, I tried contacting them about purchasing some spare parts a couple years ago, and they never replied, so it's good to have another option on the market.
Sweet snare sound! However I don’t see how possibly could mount that strainer on a beaded snare tho. Unless there’s some kind of gasket? Really nice work overall tho!!
@@orlandobacklinerental The ride cymbal is a custom mod that our good friend and talented drummer/cymbalsmith Jesse Simpson did for us as a clone of an old Zildjian A. It's used in almost every single one of our episodes and is capable of fitting into so many different styles while serving as both ride and crash. Thanks for the interest!
my stepfather is the creator, im so glad you like it!
Your stepfather is my brother, and he's come a long way over the past few years while creating Sonique

Anyone owning one of these snares will be very happy with their purchase, no doubt. Beauty!
I'm from the south of Germany,in a case like this,we used to say: Ha ja,nett schlecht !

That throwoff is incredibly innovative and simplistic. Love this
I want all snares. Fact. I’m sorry it’s always snare Christmas for me. Thanks for the video guys. I hope they are successful !

Beautiful sounding snare! That strainer is pretty amazing--makes me wonder why no one ever thought of it before.

This drum sounds great. Love the system.
Id be curious to get your take on the WTS drums and their unique tuning system.
Thanks! We’ve got a bunch of videos that we didn’t featuring the WTS drums. Search WTS within our channel and you’ll find all of them.
I wonder what artist Sonique will say? Great stuff guys

diggin this!
Amazing the creator is my uncle and what a great idea
Thats Interesting cause he's my brother.
Great review. Thanks.
Holy sticker shock! 😳
This isn't a mass produced, made in Taiwan snare drum. It's gonna come with a serious price tag.
@@SoundsLikeADrum No doubt. Looks like a very nicely made drum.
I drool!
You can drool all over it too without worrying about your hardware rusting! ;-)
@@soniquedrums Good to know. Thanks.

Thanks for the video
Interesting!
Sorry if you mentioned it & I missed it, but what’s the depth of that snare in this video?
It’s in the description but this one is 5.5” deep. If you check the link in the description, they have a lot of options available.

What’s the cadence media about?

What hi-hats are those?
15” Prototype Zildjian Fat Hats.
@@SoundsLikeADrum, those sound amazing, what ride was it? That's the last question I promise...

Can you have the snares put on another drum, like my Leedy (b. 1947 ish)?
The NATO-1 can be used to retrofit existing drums. Details regarding compatibility/hole spacing are available here: sladl.ink/NATO-1
"Sonique" is also a French word which means... sonic.
How much$$$

looks like if lever is accidentaly bumped it would move.
Not with the set screw dialed in. It offers a lot of flexibility in resistance.
I wish more companies had throw-offs that didn't come with the buttplate.
Always nice to have the option to get just one or the other.
