Solved in my head in less than 10 seconds, the answer is d) 5/2. 0) 2x + 9 = 14 -- Start 1) 2x = 5 -- subtract the 9 from both sides of the equation 2) x = 5/2 -- divide both sides by the coefficient, 2.
2x + 9 = 14 approach: manipulate left and right sides of "=" sign equally.. (-1-)Start by subtracting 9 from both sides 2x+9-9=14-9 2x =5 (-2-)Next divide both sides by 2 2x/2 =5/2 x =2.5 VERIFY 2X +9 =?14 2(2.5) +9 =? 14 5+9=?14 14=❤14✔️
In my head it went, "2x is 5, so x is half of 5 which is 2.5". He's just expressing the answer as a fraction instead of a decimal. Nothing wrong with that.
Yes, you are a good teacher, but the way you solve the problem, it is very complicated, so that is why I don't like your way, please make it simple and not complicated.
The answer is 5/2 to get there 2x+9=14 subtract 9 from both gets 2x=5 divide both sides by 2 x=5/2
That's how I did it.
Two seconds. What stevenjohnson said.
Out of high school > 55 years. I'm amazed that I still recall these stuff!?
You make me proud of revisiting math at my old age. Ty
Is it proper to leave the answer as 5/2 or simplify as 2.5 or 2-1/2?
Since it is multiple choice you may select 5/2. If it were not multiple choice I would accept 5/2, 2.5, 2 1/2 all equally correct.
Solved in my head in less than 10 seconds, the answer is d) 5/2.
0) 2x + 9 = 14 -- Start
1) 2x = 5 -- subtract the 9 from both sides of the equation
2) x = 5/2 -- divide both sides by the coefficient, 2.
What took you so long?
@@thenetsurferboy I wanted to double-check my work... ;-P
D) 5/2
Calculated it in my head.
2x + 9 = 14
2x + (9-9) = 14-9
2x = 5
X = 5/2
2x = 14-9 = 5 and 2x/2 = 5/2 and x = 5/2
2x + 9 = 14 subtract 9 from both sides
2x = 5 divide both sides by 2
x = 5/2
Just move anything across to the other side and change signs.
No fuss
2x + 9 = 14
approach: manipulate left and right sides of "=" sign equally..
(-1-)Start by subtracting 9 from both sides
2x+9-9=14-9
2x =5
(-2-)Next divide both sides by 2
2x/2 =5/2
x =2.5
VERIFY
2X +9 =?14
2(2.5) +9 =? 14
5+9=?14
14=❤14✔️
Just move the 9 across to the other side, or anything else and change signs
Simple no fuss
1 + 2 + 3 = 1 × 2 × 3 --> Ergo (× = +)
Ok, remove the 9 and we get 2x = 5. So x is 2.5.
Which you unnecessarily complicate as 5/2. Well, I guess it's not that complicated.
In my head it went, "2x is 5, so x is half of 5 which is 2.5". He's just expressing the answer as a fraction instead of a decimal. Nothing wrong with that.
So you eliminate +9 from both sides. That's 2x=5. Now you divide 5 by 2 and arrive at answer d)
Got it 5/2 subtract 9 and divide by 2 thanks for the fun
Immediately 2,5
Deu 5/2, letra D.
5/2
2x = 5 (14-9)
X= 5/2
9+ minutes to solve this?? It should take about 9 secs!
I worked it out and came out with d) 5/2
Ans=. d ) x=5/2.
d) 5/2
14-9= 5 5÷2 = 2.5
X =2.5
2×2.5.9=14
5/2 , or 2 1/2
5/2 is an improper fraction; the correct answer is 21/2 (two and a half).
D) 5/2, or 2.5
2.5 × 2 = 5
5 + 9 = 14
Less than 10sec, no calculator or paper or pen was involved.
d----5/2 = 2.5
Xis 5/2 D
5/2
The answer is 2x =5 so x is 2.5 or 5/2
d) X = 5/2
D 5/2
The answer is (d)
Yea🎉
Which value for x is correct
2 1/2
X=5/2
It's 5/2
250/100
D took 10 seconds
What took you so long?
D
i got 2.5 in 2 seconds.

I hate you smart people. I took a couple semesters of algebra in college I need to get a refresher.
