You couldn't figure out the round thing was the battery and you used to build computers? Why don't you disconnect all the wires at the clips. The only part I need was to see witch side the ribbon wire was up after I took it apart, because my eyes are bad at tiny stuff.

I drive a boat for work I can see fine for the job 2 lines past 20/20 gonna wait till the far is blurry befor glasses, 10-20more years if im a lucky sailor! I put my battery on a wire plug and mounted it in the void space behind the number pad area on the metal plate inside insulated and glued down. Now if it happens again just the faceplate cover comes off unplug the battery then solder plug wire on the bench.
There is an old school marine electronics repair shop in San Pedro Ca the name is ( Neptune Electronics the owners name is Skip) if any body can get this unit he can, also you can find another unit in E bay. Hess planning on selling the shop and retiring soon so hurry. Good Luck
dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last couple of months :)
By da way after installing the battery and turning the unit on the chart plotter will return to original manufactory location (OKINAWA JAPAN ) if that happens cut off about 3 to 6 inches of antenna cable and install a new connector, the antenna will receive a clear signal from the satellite's and will find your actual location.
