The large knife, the Hisshou, is basically a wakizashi, short sword. It was a request from some SOF in Afghanistan. It works very well against panga's, machettes etc. that are so prevalent in 3rd world countries.

Nothing more annoying than the cliche garbage of "never bring a knife to a gun fight". Remember, until you have drawn your gun, pointed it at the knife guy, pulled the trigger and they are incapacitated; it is still a knife fight.

Always bring a knife to a gun fight. A lesson verified in the las 12 years. The layered system that Paul Howe articulates so well.

Recieved the heiho today in the mail, more then happy with the design of the blade.
I usually spend a few hours with a new carry blade, familiarizing myself with the weapon.I have had 2-3 blades as a constant ECD over the last 10 years. The design and functionality i find was beyond any other little peice of steel i have ever kept in my pocket.Thank you for keeping alive the samurai arts.
