After reading through Genshin Impact Wiki. This is what i know.
The city of Old Mondstadt (the region now known as Stormterror's Lair) was ruled by Decarabian, The God of Storm over the past 2600 years ago. Decarabian surrounded the city of Old Mondstadt inside a storm barrier that wouldn't let anyone in or out. He do this to defend people of Old Monstadt from Lupus Boreas/Andrius (The big blue wolf) raging blizzards, and had given his people a city free from the icey cold. But to his people, it seemed he had locked them in, and was selfish and cruel. Yes, his people were not content in their stormy prison, and wanted to be free duh.
This is where Nameless Bard and Barbatos/Venti started to make a group of rebels. This Rebels consist of 4 major characters (watch 0:54) which are Nameless Bard, elemental spirit (Barbatos/Venti), Amos (The one holding Amos Bow the in game weapon who is also happen to be Decarabian's Ex-Lover) and a Ragnvindr Knight (Yes, its Diluc ancestor since Diluc full name is Diluc Ragnvindr). Not to forget, Boreas, for years, wanted to remove Decarabian from the region, but by himself was not strong enough to even make a scratch on the capital. Boreas join their force to defeat Decarabian. They won the war but at the cost of many lives including Nameless Bard and Amos (watch 1:10).
Aftermath, in the power vacuum that emerged with Decarabian's death, both Boreas and Barbatos were qualified to become the Anemo Archon in his stead. Boreas, believing himself incapable of the love for humanity required of an Archon, chose to forego the position. Barbatos took up the mantle and used his newfound power to take the form of the Nameless Bard-who died in the rebellion. He then renamed himself "Venti".
Also, the rebellion against Decarabian is a separate event from Vanessa's rebellion, which occurred around 1000 years later after Decarabian's Fall.

I think decarabian also not fit for archon position since his people do not thrive? They just there, in a cage govern by him like it or not, just like recent electro archon :/ while venti literally clean up the land for farming n suitable living after ascending to power

In my opinion, monstad have better history than liyue. That's really intense.

Man, everyone is commenting about Venti and the story and the game, but is no one gonna notice how good a poem this is? Even out of context, it's a great poem about freedom, revolt and valour. I'm no literary expert, but I think this deserves more recognition. Anyone?

I noticed it too!! I absolutely love poetry, and the voice actress did such a good job narrating it! It’s such a beautiful poem, and I occasionally come back to watch this video just for the poem (and of course Venti, as he is my favorite character) but yeah I love it so much 🥰

@FWU100 Didn't notice that at all. But the gold cuffs on Paimon's outfit do look similar to the wing-like structures at the bottoms of Lv 6 Statues of the Seven.
Also maybe spoilers for a very long theory:
Paimon is a god. Whether she's someone important on Celestia(creator, ruler, guardian, etc.), or an aspect of the cube goddess that was seen as a weakness such as her worldly desires that was thrown away but became its own person as mythological gods often do.
Also Paimon has the Mora symbol on her outfit. We know she loves Mora but there's a possibility that the Mora symbol isn't just that. We know that Morax created Mora itself but is the symbol something he came up with or is it something that he had seen before in Celestia? Does it mean something more? Or maybe it fits into the whole 'worldy desires' thing that I mentioned before.
There's also the well known fact that Paimon has the name of one of the 72 demons of the Ars Goetia like Barbatos, Morax, and Baal(all three being Archons). The Tsaritza is most definitely a mere title and not the true name of the Cryo Archon.

The demon King Paimon's powers match up with our dear emergency food's own abilities and behaviors. Knowledge regarding all affairs of the world, making spirits appear/granting familiars(the Wish system), and flight.
Some of Paimon's abilities however, are attributed to the Traveler. Such as the general ability to "make all kinds of things" (and) "all sorts of people and armor appear" which is something Paimon had shown amazement at in a voiceline and presumably other characters if they were to see making it not a normal thing in Teyvat despite other characters being able to do it (but I'm pretty sure that's either game mechanics of an ability that can be extended over to other people if they decide to join them.)
Then there's the 'creating visions' thing. Visions. That's all I have to say on that.
Also it mentions that Paimon can stay underwater indefinitely. The Traveler first met Paimon by "saving" her from drowning. It'd be understandable if she couldn't fly and get out of the water because her wings got wet like many other flight capable animals.
But here's the thing: Paimon doesn't have wings nor does she need such things to fly. Her ability to fly does not seem to be inhibited by being wet. It is to be suspected that their "maybe it was coincidence, maybe it was destiny" meeting may have been intentional on her part.

The flying elf is Venti, the red hair is Diluc's ancestor, and the white-haired archer was the Tyrant's lover

@@ipixiemonster tyrant is the previous ruler of mondstat, his name is decarabian, the old mondstat was located in, now, stormterror's lair, everything outside was a barren wasteland full of snow and nothing else ,he put those wind walls to saveguard the city from lupus boreas's snow , amos was his "human lover" he understood nothing of human emotions so he thought javing a human lover will teach him of himan ways but he didnt know that he never understood what love means. amos was an elf huntress from a far away land, she joined forces with "the nameless boy" (the one venti took form of) , barbados, the farvonious and the ravendir to overthrow decarabian and to free mondstat from its tyrant walls, to see clear skys. after dacarabians death only lupus and venti were eligible for being an archon and lupus gave up his post for "no human would love me as they love you, barbados. no human will accept me as their ruler" so venti became the archon, shifted all the snow from the land and made the seas and built new mondstat on cider lake .
@@eromegamiSensei in a way its was tragic from both sides. because as you state. the walls protected the people of old monstat from the barren wasteland of snow. they weren't just there to keep everyone contained.

Little spoiler:
It is confirmed that Venti’s prototype is this boy. Barbatos creates its form based on the appearance of this boy who started the revolution, to commemorate this boy who fought for people’s freedom but never got the chance to see the birds, the sky and everything until the end of his life......
Venti (Barbatos) is a great god, in my personal opinion he does not want people in Mondstadt to be shackled again, he truly carries out the idea of ‘freedom’ and not ruling these people even though this will weaken his power as a god......he must have admired this boy and decide to ‘become’ him and protect Mondstadt inheriting this will......he becomes a bard and eulogize these stories that everyone should remember......this character goes to a whole different level with just a pv......a little ‘spirit’ born from the wind starts to have humanity with this ‘friend’, who Venti seen this boy as......
The story is actually great and clues for bigger picture hide in everywhere in item/weapon description,you can see the five-star bow (Amos’ Bow) in the game at 0:57, go check its story and you will understand why this game is great
Weiss Des It is so sad to watch this pv and I was not expecting things like this......and theoretically Venti is Barbatos in human form, in this context gods are able to change their forms and originally Venti is just that little one beside the boy, we could definitely see humanity developed from his change in form

This bow is named ‘Amos’ Bow’, here’s its description and there’s also a lore behind it:
“An extremely ancient bow that has retained its power despite its original master being long gone. It draws power from everyone and everything in the world, and the further away you are from that which your heart desires the more.”

The backstory is definitely big, the girl wielding the bow in this pv has her stories revealed in the lore of this bow. I was looking for its story and I could not find any on the internet yet lol

This is from Venti's Story when you hit AR36. After we find out why Stanley is calling himself Stanley to commemorate the death of his friend named Stanley who died saving him from an adventure, Venti explains that he also calls himself Venti after the person we see here...

@@cosmichild1 Venti said his situation is just like Stanley. As the CN dialogue had it, "he had become his friend" (in this case the young boy) so it's obvious the name of the boy is Venti. He became a bard, just like the boy, to further remind people about Mondstadt and its history through songs of tales untold dating all the way to Old Mondstadt. He took his form and his name so everyone will know who that boy is just like Hans Archibald called himself Stanley who is his friend and told stories of "his adventure" so people won't forget him.

Yes, actually the stormterror's lair is the old monstadt. After the "war" in this video, they move to new mondstadt that we can see now. But the tragedy happened again with tyrant and Vannesa lead the second "war" and gain mondstadt freedom once again.

Didnt the story already cover it? I think theres a dialogue option where paimons says its the old mondstadt or probably other character will explain to you.
@@Crustee0 if you read the item description of the **Tile of Decarabian's Tower**, you find out that the place now known as Stormterror's Lair was once known as the capital city of Decarabian, the God of Storms. I haven't found any dialogue option yet that explain this, but the item descriptions are always worth taking a look at :)

The history of Mondstadt might as well be a Dark Souls lore.
Venti was once a tiny spirit that was trapped in Old Mondstadt due to the God of Storms.
When the boy cried for freedom, 3 would join their cause. An elf, a knight and a huntress.
The elf was the wield of Aquila Favonia, a foreign woman known as Favonius. Exiled from her tribe and enslaved in the city, she became one who sought freedom and justice, so she flew with the bard and wind, to free those who should. She would be the founder of the Church and Order. Now she is one with the gods, Vanessa remembered, the Eagle who flew for just and good.
The knight was a Knight of Boreas, who wields a sword large and heavy. He had a friend, a wolf trapped with him in the City of the Shackled. Both fought to let their spirit run wild. When the wolf passed, his sword became it's gravestone, but the wolf will live on as spirit of the Wind. The Wolf still howls for the land it calls home.
The huntress felt love for a man who knew not her love. Blind to his tyranny and love with sincerity, she yearned for his gaze to stare at her lovingly. However when the winds of freedom blew, her arrows would follow. His gaze shall be met, with the tip of Amos' arrow. The Lion gains her roar, and it's for no Tyrant no more.
When the symbol of freedom died, his spirit took form. He sings songs of triumph, freedom and just, all with the price, of a little alcohol. A dragon would then come, curious about life, lured by song and gained a friend for life.
And that's only Monstadt. Imagine what would the other nations would be like.

It's a little unclear, but if you're paying close attention, the narrator in this video is Barbatos, who takes the form of the small white fairy thing in these pictures. The form of Venti we see here isn't Barbados yet! If you skip to 1:17, you'll see him seriously injured by two arrows. Not sure who the red haired person is at that point; perhaps another Archon, or an ancestor of Diluc?
That's likely Vennessa, the founder of the Knights of Favonius. There's a bunch of books and NPCs that mention her. She's said to have had red hair and was apparently part of the Rebellion against the Tyrant. The books makes it sound like Barbatos was already an Archon back then, but guess that could be some in-universe revisionism.
@@apomk2 It's not Vanessa, this rebellion happened before the other one. I also think this is Diluc ancestor.
Timo Ohr Venessa founded the Knights of Favonius after meeting Barbatos though, I think this is probably her ancestor.
Vennessa have red hair, Diluc's family have red hair, I'm just gonna say there's probably a connection in that family tree. Vennessa's freedom is symbolized as an hawk and Diluc have a hawk.. :thonk: (refer to story and manga)

He wants his people to be able to stand for themselves and and be free from the ruling of the Gods. Because he himself knows what it felt like to be trapped under the power of Decarabian in Old Monstadt. ALSO, Venti removed the snow and sculpted the lands and mountains of Monstandt so that it would be an ideal and comfortable place for his people to live in.

Mihoyo, all I wanna say is that this quest is brutal! You guys are truly beasts for this quest's story telling. At first I thought it was gonna be just another jolly tale of Venti being...you know, his usual self. And then, the second part of it just hits you.
There's just so much I want to talk about regarding Venti but...people aren't very fond of reading through so much. So all I will say is:
May the wind forever guide your travels. And may Lord Barbatos forever live on in every adventurer's heart!

Got to hand it to the original venti. He saw that freedom was worth fighting for, and in the end probably didn't mind dying for it too. You really can't blame our venti for sticking to that ideal and leaving mondstadt to govern itself
Looking back, I'm surprised by the amount of progress this game has made. I'm glad I never quit, this is truly a lore worth following.
Wow. Im speechless. That was beautiful. I've always loved getting into a game with a captivating story. I've got a feeling this won't disappoint.
This is one of the only gatcha games I've ever seen that has such an incredible story and memorable characters. Hell, I barely even remember it's a gatcha most of the time. I usually dislike them, glad I gave this one a shot.

Were they not wishes worth fighting for?
So the boy turned, extending his hand:
"Let us cast down the tyrant and his walls from this land."
The young boy raised then the flag of revolt,
And I threw myself into freedom's tumult.
Victorious were we who fought to be free.
Gods fell, winds whipped, nations shook violently.
In the smoke, a despot met his doom,
And we watched as his great tower fell none too soon.
Mondstadt began anew, the story passed down-
And since then never has another worn its crown.

The young boy raised then the flag of revolt,
and I threw myself in freedom's tumult.
Victorious were we who fought to be free.
Gods fell, winds whipped, nations shook violently.
In the smoke, a despot met his doom,
and we watched as his great tower fell, none too soon.
Monstadt began anew, the story passed down,
and since then, never has another worn it's crown.
