I just purchased a used MIB2 for a 2017 Audi Q7 that doesn’t power on. The EBay seller says that I must disable component protection before it will power on. Is this true based on your experience? I think it’s a bad unit.

Hi, I need help with a unit. I have a 5q0 035 874c. I think I have damaged the circuit board with the wrong size removal key. Do you have a wiring diagram for this in hope o can get it fixed.
Where did you source your main unit and display from, since display if from vw and main unit is from Škoda Did u buy on ebay or it came from a wreck? I always had ideas to pull this from my golf, but sadly car cannot be sold without a radio nowadays
@@MIBhelper will you get a gateway and harness as well for ur setup Since u are regulary making articles on mibwiki, I thought u will buy a mqb harness they advertise there You just need a gateway Then u just need to generate a CAN wakup message (which u can probably acomplish with an arduino) or maybe buy one of theese ignition simulator boxes that they sell on the internet The only problem u might face is component protection

When I connect the new display to the Main unit, I can see that the power is ok on the radio coz the buttons light up but I have no image. Is it a problem with the resolution that you mentioned? I’m trying now the bench method but Im starting to think that the Display backlight might be damage. If you simply power the display with 12V does it light up the display or it always requires the lvds cable to turn on? Thanks a lot!

No experience yet. But it looks like ignition signal needs to be emulated on the CAN-BUS connection, a OBD diagnosis requires gateway to be part of the bench setup.
Hello. I have tried to install Toolbox v08.1.1 on my SEAT with software version MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0241T and the screen has locked. The system does not reboot. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
@@MIBhelper I tried to update to the latest version but there was an error. So I installed the Toolbox v08.1.1 version directly, which should be compatible with the vehicle's firmware. But now it has crashed and won't just reboot. What I need is to know how to reboot the system. Thank you.

Second hand display from a passat or golf ($20).
Second hand unit from Skoda Octavia (borrowed from friend after MST2 retrofit).

tried with delphi and worked fine , tried with techni sat and it didn't work , can you share technisat connection??

You need to convert your unit to the MIB2.5 firmware which supports 9,2'' display.

If you put power on only the MIB2 unit does it light up or something ?
If you power the MU alone and press the CD eject button, you should hear the drive moving and backlight should also come on.

As far as I know, yes. I used Golf MK7 MIB2 diagram to connect MIB2 display with MIB1 main unit.
