Konrad Bartelski Val Gardena 1981

On the 13th of December 1981 Konrad Bartelski No 29 skied into the history book with his 2nd place in the infamous Val Gardena World Cup Downhill.
Konrad Bartelski shocked the ski racing world and made skiing history, Britain had never produced a successful male downhill racer, and Bartelski's performance resulted in the French television commentator saying, "Ce n'est pas possible! C'est un anglais" ("It's not possible, It's an Englishman").
