Such a nice informative video. Yes! of course, it is common sense bed rest is needed after every treatment. AS IVF is the little bit painful for women. So there is a need for some rest. I had also experienced IVF. doctors suggest me an adequate rest. They advised me to avoid bathing and showering. Also, avoid from sex for the vaginal rest. Your video is also pretty informative. keep your job up!
Hello, Dr. Sklar. Hope you are doing well. IVF has gained much popularity in the past some decades. It has proven to be much successful treatment. IVF allows infertile couples to have babies in a safe method. It is one of the safest processes which has higher success rates. Many couples have been blessed with babies by this method.
A nice informative video. We had recently had our transfer (round#1 with donor eggs in Biotexcom, Ukraine). I've officially been in 2ww now. So this what I was suggested/instructed to do and not to do after transfer.
Firstly no bathing, just having shower. Then adequate
rest. This seems I shouldn't stay in bed for days pretending in such a way I feel better. Vaginal rest of course - no sex, tampons etc. No heavy lifting. Minimize caffeine. No herbal supplements except needed meds. As usual no smoking, even avoid second-hand smoking, no alcohol. And no high impact exercising (jogging, running - whatever). Seems these are the main ones. And this is actually I stick to now. Anyway no "day and night" bed rest.

Hey. Thanks for such a motivational post. Infertility is one of the biggest problems people are facing. I TTC for a long time but all in vain. I remained left Infertile. I went to the treatment but it didn't work for me. I chose to go for surrogacy after all the disappointment. I agreed to go there. That is the best to have your own biological baby. I have made my mind for it. I am so blessed now.
Well, yeah! Maybe it is that way. But, still I've took a week off after my IVF process later this month at a center in Kiev. So, yes! things work that way. Anyway! So, yeah! Still, glad you explained some really true points here.

What about the stairs the same day of the transfer ? I am worried about the stairs I live in a 3 stories townhouse. My room is in the 3rd floor and kitchen 2nd flood. Is ok take the stairs to my room once I am back home from my transfer ?
I didn't take a rest and I did home activities cause to me some fatigue and i lost the baby unfortunately 😭

Hello, Dr. Sklar. Thank you for making this video. I agree, there is no scientific research on bedrest after IVF. You can go back to work after IVF. I believe that bed rest creates more superstition. It doesn't make much of a difference. I have had bed rest after mine and it was still unsuccessful. Bed rest is unnecessary.

I think bed rest is only recommended in case of any complications. That might be a family history of miscarriages etc. A mother needs more rest in only her third trimester. Ivf is any other pregnancy once you have successfully conceived with the embryo transfer. In the first few weeks, the pregnant women may feel various symptoms that are common during this time. Not all go through the same condition. It is only preferred if the female is not feeling well, there is bleeding or bloating. Otherwise, women are given maternity leave in the last two months.
