His speed, timing, and facility with the instrument are amazing but I have to express a preference for Ana Vidovic's performance of this particular piece. Her perfection of tone is, in my opinion, absolutely unmatched.

I thought you were one of us...... but, you're not. For year's, I've been listening to you and only now, do I realize, you're from a different planet. The music seems familiar as you pull each note from its space, but when you reform those notes, they change before they reach our ears. It's quite lovely. That's only my opinion. Thank you, Lucas.

I'm not familiar with this selection, Asturias. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great orchestral performance also, and unusual to have that many cellos.

The orchestra is the background is just there for show…he actually was playing their instruments as well. He was just moving faster than the camera could pick it up. He was also making the coughing sound in the audience with the “A” string.

I see that you alternate how you hold that guitar, most often off the right leg but also, as in this case, off the left leg. After watching some of your videos, I’m wondering whether the benefits of playing in the classical guitar position are truly real or is it just dogma? Are there pros and cons? Does one style of playing really necessitate a totally different way of holding the instrument? Just curious on your thoughts as you seem to be incredibly versatile
Well, Carlos, this is a theme of larger discussion, but the general idea I have is that when the guitar is on the left leg, you have a free right arm and right hand allowing you to change collor easily. Also you have easier access to the higher notes of the fretboard without bending your back. Playing on to the right leg makes it easier to perform all notes before the higher notes of the fretboard but has the inconvenience of having to hold the guitar with the left hand in order to change collor with the right hand. I mean, the classical position is more comfortable but your knee might suffer in the future if you use the footstand for too long :)
@@lucasimbiriba that’s very interesting. I’ve played typical acoustic guitar for about 18 yrs and have recently ventured into classical. I find that my ability to reach certain notes is largely dependent on the angle of the neck- closer to my face (
@@MrMadness574 yeah, but you'll always to sacrifice something. The point is to find a way to adapt your body position and your hand/wrist position depending on the guitar area your are playing. That's what matters most. You're welcome, Carlos :)
