This video has blown my mind. I visited here by small fishing boat in about 1990 when it was totally undeveloped. It was literally a few palm and bamboo huts on the beach with one restaurant. There was one concrete building and no roads. Mainly surfers went there, or people curious about the island’s abundant mystical mushrooms. I’m pleased to see that it’s still so stunningly beautiful. Before the internet, entertainment was sitting on our hut’s balcony and watching locals harvest seaweed in that beautiful turquoise water. We were much more content doing nothing in those days 😊

What fantastic insight! I have pinned this comment so that more people can read it.
The Lembongan you visited sounds fantastic as well! Maybe better than now? Or maybe both are great!

@@imagineeverythingvegan I think both experiences are great, just different. You definitely ate well compared to us. I remember drinking/ eating so many fresh coconuts that I felt ill because veggie food was scarce.

OMG! The food looks delicious! and the place is a paradise. The water is so blue, it doesn't seem real.

The blue colour was just something else. And the food was really nice too.
With new cuisines, you need quite a bit of time and repetition to truly appreciate it. This has been a bit of a huge realisation for me. It’s actually quite rare that you try something new and you love it immediately. These 3 days of repetition has really helped me appreciate this cuisine more!
