This presentation outlines OVHcloud lab's experimental study on an innovative single-phase immersion/liquid-cooling technique, combining direct-to-chip water-cooling with passive single-immersion cooling. The study explored the impact of three dielectric fluids, water circuit configurations, and server power/profile. Results show cooling demand dependence on fluid viscosity, with a 6% decrease in performance as viscosity rises. Various IT server profiles were validated under different conditions. A 600 kW data center comparison revealed the proposed technique's significant 20.7% reduction in power consumption compared to OVHcloud's liquid-cooling. The presentation ends with a comparison of cooling performance across air- and liquid-cooled systems and the new solution.
