I have this foot! And sat sewing through 4 metres of pain stakenly long fabric...gathering it by hand, not knowing this is what this foot does 😂😂😭😭😭💔 thank you so much for saving the life of future me! Xx
How would one use this foot to attach a gathered skiet to a bodice? Like how do you calculate the gathering to make sure it is gathered to the exact size of the bodice?
Great. Can I use this foot with elastic thread. I'm trying to shirr my fabric and it's not smoking. I have a singer 7528. Any suggestions will help. Thanks
But howdo we use this in applications of putting a non gathered to a gathered pattern piece together, where you have to make them fit? None of the tutorials that I have found have shown that.
I just got this foot and followed the directions, but it's not really gathering for me. Not sure what I am doing wrong. 🤷♀️ EDIT: It will gather plain quilter's cotton, but it doesn't want to gather linen.

Oh yes, it comes in handy when shirring with elastic as well. Once you get the hang of it, everything is smooth sailing.

I was very curious about how this foot could possibly do ruffles but I see that it does indeed
So, my stitch length only goes to 4... could I still use something like this? (I have the janome hd 1000)
Yes, this just makes it easier to pull the threads. It should work out fine :-)
