Hello Sourcebrew, can you talk about Crocpond, a Lost Media cartoon please
All those old Facebook posts saying “Send this message to the next 20 people or you die at midnight” would definitely fit this iceberg.
fr
Those messages were around long before Facebook.
Dude, before the internet people were literally were sending letters like that to your house!
Chain letters were the WORST. I had those “not really a friend” friends, so I got them too often.
Copy this comment to all your subscriptions or you will fall off 😂
"This film is cursed because the actor died 2 years after the film was finished" is the most backwards ass way of claiming something is cursed.
Guys guys I just realized Smiling Friends is cursed!! Gilbert Gottfried died 4 months after his cameo in the show!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
(obvious satire)
Bermuda Triangle logic, where "the area surrounding it" is basically the entire Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.
yeah i was thinking this lol, some of the stuff is a bit far fetched
"this actor died of a natural cause 40 years after the movie, its 100% cursed omg"
Well then STALKER is extremely cursed since everyone died of cancer, ignore the part they filmed inside the exclusion zone of Ukraine.
900 People gouged their eyes out and sent them to me after I smiled in public.
that's not a curse, that's just filmmaking in the 70s before the horrific Twilight Zone movie accident forced the industry to set safety standards
Actually they were breaking the law during filming. If anyone had bothered to enforce the rules that already existed it never would've happened.
@@Jacob-Sophia hence safety, keyword, standards
I wonder if that scene from the Simpsons where they dump acid in the nuclear plant for the radioactive man movie is making fun of that cursed fact
@Jacob-Sophia are you really that slow?
@@whiteydiamond The comment stated that the accident happened because there were no safety standards to stop it. I explained that, no, there were standards in place that were simply ignored. Are _you_ stupid?
The King in Yellow is probably on here because there's a fictional play in the book called "The King in Yellow" that's said to drive people insane
Good I’m glad someone pointed this out. Some of these aren’t well-researched.
@@BabyCharmanderI love sourcebrew, but after watching all of his Iceberg videos, it's pretty clear that he doesn't really have a deep knowledge of most things, video games in particular. No hate on the guy, but he is definitely out of his element on some of these.
a more lighthearted addition to the alleged macbeth curse:
in season 7 of rupaul’s drag race there was an episode called “shakesqueer” where the queens competed in two groups performing parodies of shakespeare plays. the production of “macb*tch” ended up being a total disaster, with multiple queens forgetting their lines, costumes falling apart, etc. a very entertaining episode lol
wtf
Lmao I love that episode
Exorcist isn't cursed. Friedkin just didn't give a damn about actor safety.
That could be said about a lot of these entries, and some of these aren't even "cursed" at all, just very mildly spooky
@@CinnamonGrrlErin1 oh for sure, there's a reason they list older productions.
@@CinnamonGrrlErin1Or all the actors had ridiculous substance abuse problems so it's unfortunately not a surprise they died young, suddenly, and tragically.
Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper actually did use human remains during the filming of Poltergeist, specifically the scene where Diane is swimming and a skeleton emerges from the water. The actress, JoBeth Williams, wasn't told that the skeleton was real until filming ended.
Yes they used human skeletons that were used at a local school.

Ok, I'm gonna be that person: Actually... Buddy Ebsen was not in "The Wizard of Oz". He was supposed to be in it, but, as you said, the silver paint sent him to the hospital. They ended up re-casting the role; the Tin Man was played by Jack Haley.

I know you youngsters like these iceberg videos but DAMN, 9:17 are we really gonna talk about Brandon Lee without saying he was Bruce Lee's SON ???
I mean to me it seems way more respectful to just refer to him by his name instead of constantly pointing out that he was Bruce Lee's son, beacuse it makes Brandon look like a nepo baby to those not familiar with him
@@turkishjanitor3666 i understand you, but I don't think referring to his legend of a dad is disrespectful, especially when Brandon didn't had time to really make a name for himself, unfortunately, because he left us so young.
For those who don't know the story, I bet he sounds more like Random Lee lol ...
Minor nitpick: The 'White Album' didnt officially have that title. It was a self-titled album that just became known as the White Album because of the cover. Good video though.
Minky Momo changed its genre from "Magical Girl" to "Isekai" in its finale.
Basically first isekei and is considered cursed cause of quakes and tsunamis
It wasn't the finale. She got ressurrected afterwards and the show went on for a while longer.
You wanna know something crazy? When I was in high school, one of my assignments in my English class was to write a parody of a piece of literature we had read that year, and I chose to write a parody of Macbeth where all the characters were famous RUclipsrs. This was in 2015, and since then, most of the RUclipsrs have become disgraced in some fashion, including Cry, Tobuscus, PewDiePie, the GameGrumps, and JonTron. I was also going to put LeafyIsHere in a future chapter but I never got around to it.
JonTron still based tho
@@Strong846 Love JonTron. Used to love Danny from GG too but haven't kept up with him.
Those definitely aren't all to the same degree, and really a great many nostalgic RUclipsrs have gotten 'disgraced', perhaps more than haven't.

The idea behind Killswitch of a game that deletes itself once you lose in it is actually pretty old; I remember even Hideo Kojima had been entertaining the idea in some interviews since at least 15 years back, so this is likely where the legend takes its inspiration from.
The idea of a self-erasing file has been a thing for decades. It can go as far back as self-erasing disks and CDs.
@@BeyondBaito Back to tapes, like in several spy shows.
Cursed RUclips videos are so funny to me because of the idea that multiple people died from watching these videos and that no law enforcement agency ever looked into this following the event.
How's law enforcement supposed to look into it if it will kill them? They are just being smart is all
when you started talking about Sinatra's My Way I immediatly thought of covers by Elvis and Sid Vicious. they recorded their versions of the song not-so-long before their deaths. I think it suits the cursed vibe more than drunken karaoke rage
then again those two people already were predicted to die early. sid vicious had a reputation for repeating how he will die soon & elvis was warned by doctors that his abuse of drugs would lead to his death.
Hey glad to see you again! The King in Yellow and In the Mouth of Madness aren't actually cursed but have plotlines dealing with cursed media.
Calling Polybius a hoax and then mumbling that you have no evidence against it is so Sourcebrew. Real quality work there
Shout-Outs to the "Persona 5 Collab Curse."
As the story goes, whenever a mobile game gets a Persona 5 series Collaboration Event, it often ends service about a year later.
hahaha nice
@@Matt-md5yt It's a much lighter "curse" compared to any of the examples explained in the video, as it didn't cause any direct human injury/death. It is, however, still an interesting chain of coincidences.
Also there's a decent amount of mobile games that weren't affected by the "curse."
This is a symptom of using a fad to try and get more players. They'll play the Persona 5 stuff, and then go to the next game with a Persona 5 collab, rather than staying around.
Certainly plausible. But it's funnier to think of it as a curse.
Happened with LLSIF at the very least
I met Linda Blair back in 2017 . She was a guest at my local con and she was genuinely one of the nicest people you could meet.
Cursed media such as movies were the creepypastas before creepypastas
Urban legends through the ages
"The Last Temptation of Christ" is actually fanfiction years before fanfiction was written by teenagers
To be fair, so is Dante's Inferno.
I wasn't expecting KMFDM to be on here as a cursed media, but yeah, there are some bad things indirectly connected to some of their songs. Screw the weird columbine simps who only like the music because the shooters listened to it
There was a documentary made about the making of Fitzcarraldo and it came out around the same time. It was called Burden of Dreams. It's better than Fitzcarraldo. As the movie is about an obsessed maniac trying to achieve a Sisyphean task in the jungle, the documentary is about Herzog doing the same thing. It's very meta and most highly recommended.
I dunno, that last factoid on The Omen sounds made up. Not the person dying in the car accident, but the sign reading 66.6 km.
Surprised that the painting "Man Proposes, God Disposes" didn't get featured. It's an 1864 painting of two polar bears mauling a camp (based on Franklin's lost expedition) that is said to be cursed according to urban legend (there are rumors that students who studied near that painting will fail their exams or even kill themselves).
There’s some music with weird proximity to the deaths of their artists that could be included:
Alice In Chains - Dirt
Biggie Smalls - Ready to Die/Life After Death
Mayhem - Dawn Of The Black Hearts
Sublime self titled ended up being released posthumously since Bradley passed right before releasing it
2Pac - If i die 2Nite/I aint mad atcha
To be fair, Henry Cavil did have quite a bit of misfortune.
DC suits decided to remove him as Superman despite him being one of the best in the entire DCU and he was removed from The Witcher for bothering to want things to remain loyal to the books.
Wasn't he removed for Sex Pest allegations?
@@deearr420 if by "Sex Pest" you mean "he pestered some of the crew who happened to be members of the opposite sex about the faithfulness of the adaptation", then yes.
@WK-47 no, I mean flirting with underage girls, dating 19 year old women in his 30s and being generally accused of mistreating women but im certain you're being intentionally obtuse
He also had his reputation somewhat ruined because of the firing. They made him seem like a verbally abusive person.
The Helter Skelter thing has been disproven a million times over. Manson had a vendetta with the former property owner and that's why they were targeted. Manson was insane but he denied that consistently being true for decades, it only really took shape due to the book published and movie produced around the time of the trial.
Chris-chan is perhaps more cursed than anything else on this iceberg...
Id say Henry got the Superman curse. Poor dude cant catch a break
most of this is "most unsafe film sets to work on" lol it's not a curse it's just terrible safety standards
the scottish play curse happened during my school's production of it.
one guy died in a motorcycle accident while the other guy (who was part of the main cast) sustained major injuries
Cool story bro.
Not gonna lie, I really like Billie Holiday's rendition of Gloomy Sunday. It's a favorite of mine from Billie with how beautifully melancholic it is.
Emilie Autumn's version is haunting as well.
i think it was sampled in a venetian snares song
So glad that you didn't give a list of lies and hyperbole about The Wizard of Oz like most RUclipsrs do- very refreshing
To anyone whose curiosity was sparked by Antrum... It's not worth it at all imo. I watched it 2-3 years ago and thought it was incredibly underwhelming. If you're wondering, it's not just a mockumentary, they play the in-universe cursed film for 90% of the runtime, and it's an incoherent artsy horror film that does terrible job immitating the 70s aesthetic (not nearly gritty looking enough, obvious filters and isn't even shot like an old movie so I couldn't get immersed into this supposed obscure 70s movie at all). The movie itself is very slow, boring and, frankly, feels like a film student's school project at times.
The big in-universe revelation in the end, is that all throughout the movie there are satanic symbols incorporated into the film in a scratched-into-the-filmtape style, and some trivia by interviewees is given that the symbols represent some horrible demon, tied to many historical tragedies. It's a cool idea (if a little nonsensical, cuz why would they make a documentary about a supposed cursed film and show it in the same documentary), but the execution is very mid.
I remember watching antrum and really liking it, it was different from what I was used to watch so I had some fun, although I agree that has fallen very short to other movies of the same genre
omg i can explain the poltergeist corpses thing! in the 80s it was cheaper to just buy real bones than create a prop. so the scene where she falls into the pool with the skeletons has the real bones of real deceased people in it. the actress was not told they were real too. real bones were also used by Disney in one of their rides as it was built during this same period of cheap real skeletons
one piece of cursed media I missed on the iceberg is 'Destati', a song composed by Yoko Shimomura for the Kingdom Hearts games. according to Shimomura, whenever they tried loading the chorus for use in other songs, something bad would happen; most notably the power to the entire building went out after an attempt to load the chorus. I've never heard of the Destati Curse striking after the release of Kingdom Hearts 1, though the full track wasn't used in any game until very recently. more of a funny curse than a serious curse.
So most of these are just coincidences that can be easily explained, but doing so would be really boring
I was named after Brandon Lee. My mom heard the story on the radio in 1998 before I was born and Brandon Lee “had a ring to it”. She didn’t catch what the story was about, clearly… 😂
Not enough "The Conqueror".
Also, there's this 2010 film called "Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer". It's another one of those inoffensive kid's films, this time based on a book series, that were made ever so often and promoted heavily at the time. These films would be heavily promoted, and since they were released during the summer would be seen by large numbers of families who just wanted something inoffensive to watch with the whole family. However, two of the cast members of the movie have died.
One of them was Cameron Boyce 😭💔
Can't believe "The Conqueror" isn't here
They died?? I remember seeing that movie as a kid, I completely forgot about it until now. Damn.
It's silly, but wpkepkw still makes me uneasy to this day

Burdon of Dreams was a documentary made based off behind the scenes footage of Herzog's Fitzcarraldo. The film's production portrayed in the doc is just as insane as you'd imagine.
They did make a movie about the making of Fitzcarraldo - Burden of Dreams. It is almost more famous than the actual movie. I am surprised that you missed that.
I also remember when SOG used to cover a lot these. Good times
The bullet that was part of Brandon Lee's death was emptied so they wanted to use dummy bullets but director said no

another connection between The Beatles and Rosemary's Baby: the film was shot at the Dakota, and near the beginning a character falls to her death. The spot they had her land on was the same spot John Lennon would be killed.
I watched Rosemary’s Baby last year for the first time and I will never watch it again. 😅

That's very kind, thank you
I love how the further along we got in the iceberg, the more annoyed you got with the content
From what i heard asbestos was also used as snow or something in The Wizard of Oz
@42:14 the lead actor Klaus Kinski was an unhinged lunatic... He even stole a real loaded gun during one of his notorious fits of rage and fired it into a tent in which some members of the cast and crew sat and played cards, grazing the arm of one of the crewmembers in the process.. thankfully no one was hurt or even died by that... Kinsky was a psycho in general and allegedly even r****d his mother, sister and daughter. There's also a documentary about the love hate relationship Director Werner Herzog had with Kinsky as those two were working together on a lot of Projects, it's called My Best Fiend .. it goes really in depth about their complicated relationship and it's worth a watch.
Slight clarification: The King In Yellow probably mostly refers to the in-universe play in the short story collection, which drives any readers mad.
My Filipino dad told me about the "My Way" killings and he thinks that it is because people don't sing it "the right way" which leads to their deaths. Which is why some filipinos fear singing that song.

Some stuff missing that should have been here:
"Smile Dog"
How is the most infamous "cursed image" not on here despite The Grifter and similar things being here?
"Timmy Turner"
Mary Kay Bergman, the initial actress who voiced Fairly OddParents' main protagonist Timmy Turner would end up with cancer and ultimately chose to kill herself. The voice actress that followed, Tara Strong getting in trouble on social media, as well as Drake Bell who played Timmy Turner in the live action movies, facing sexual allegations.
"27 Year Old Celebrities with White Lighters"
This is probably the most damning exclusion on the list. There are theories of why most people of the notorious "27 Club" met their unfortunate demise and it's said that most of them had white lighters on them.
The 27 Club in itself is really an entire rabbit hole and it's honestly dumb that the person who made this iceberg could even overlook this phenomenon.
I was always told Mary Kay Bergman died from suícíde, not cancer
@@Account_Not_Applicable Oops. Thanks.
Smile dog no... it's simply a photoshopped huskey. Nothing even remotely scary or true about it except the fact I just stated. The other two are actually creepy situations which I'd love to see talked about and examined
@@tb3411 it's no big deal. I too would've said it was the cancer that killed her, not the suícíde, as she likely wouldn't have ended her life had she not been diagnosed with such a long and miserable illness.
The white lighter thing would need actual evidence for "most" having them on them when they died. The 27 club goes back a very long time and is more about how many people with certain struggles not making it to their 30s than any weird occurrence.
Also, how is a lighter color theory "cursed media"? Doesn't fit the definition of media at all.

I think the My Way thing makes a lot more sense if you think about it as just drunken karaoke rage. It's probably less about the song itself and more about singers breaking karaoke etiquette (hogging the mic, laughing at other singers etc). The reason it happened so much with this song specifically is probably just because it's such a common song choice.
