Incredible writing, playing & collaboration between quite a few musicians, and for some reason, I need to hear it & study it twice a week... The soft & bright horns are other-worldly & you all made this happen, including the mixers & mikes
He's got this pace to his intros that are just captivating. The one with Shai Maestro and Avishai Cohen is another good example. He just grips you with every note.
Man that intro is insane, other wordly. There are so many great Jazz guitarists from Wes/Sco/Johnny Smith/Holdsworth etc, but Kurt is #1 for me. His catalog of amazing original material eclipse anyone, as well as his chordal work and amount of standards that he plays.... yeah
I cant get enough of KR. He works really well with this big band sound. I saw him with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and was speechless - he is musical, sophisticated, current and right on point. His guitar tone is beautiful. Kurt is really comfortable performing with a orchestra. I wish he would record an album with a Philharmonic already.
Great Rosenwinkel composition, the pianist Peter Reiter, remind me Bill Evans due his exquisite solo playing and awesome Mike Holober arrangements..... Unique masterpiece!!!!!!!!
The Moffa Guitars seem to have a flute tone wrapped around the normal slightly harsh Guitar sound . Amazing Guitars .Singing tones. Wish they were $2500.
@@s.chopard2611 You might have already found out but it could possibly be an EHX POG - the pedal has a setting where you can basically remove the attack from the string, making it sound sorta like a flutr like you said. Happy listening/playing!
Outstanding performance! This is my first experience with this big band. I will be listening and seeking out your recordings. Kurt...what can I say. Your music....your music has such humanity and presence. How you craft your front to back space...the dimensionality is felt. Long live Kurt!
fantastic mix, forget that I'm listening to a recording made with separate mics! Especially the bottom end is so clear - kick/bass so nicely balanced and EQ'd, kick sits underneath everything. Can only get it sounding this good when the music in the room is perfect!
I love big band videos like this where you get to see all the instruments and its not just literally one guy that the camera man focused on in the video. 2 Instruments I would like to see used more in modern Jazz is the clarinet which I saw played by a player in Calgary (who does not live there) and the Flute which also has a less aggressive sound to it than horns or saxes.
I think The album version is far superior. The focus on the melody and his guitar tone and articulation instead of all this other stuff, far more focused on the essence of the tune.
He’s a master. Such a pleasure to hear a ‘true’ guitar tone at least in the beginning of the piece - the ‘synth’ tones at the back end (and he uses them a lot in his albums) don’t sound good in my view - a lot of guitar players go for these to try to emulate horns etc and it just sounds cheesy.

I can't believe how beautiful the intro is. It brings me back to life every time.
@Giosuè Mazzei Me too

Rosenwinkel’s jazz is like an outer-world being assimilating to this world. Creating themselves freely within the confines of the earthly contract.
He's playing such grateful when i hear all the notes it describes my inside
Just too good. Every one of them, and Kurt kept is swinging too! I had forgotten how much we need real acoustic humans!! So beautiful!
Kurt Rosenwinkel is amazing
Get a life loozer
So unusual to see a guitarist as featured soloist in a big band setting. But, MAN this is beautiful.
Thank you, Dave! Yes, maybe unusual but we loved it!
This intro blew my mind!!!
Absolutely breathtaking guitar magic! Kurt Rosenwinkel has the gift. Wow! Love this band!!
He play all this note such grateful
Gorgeous guitar tone.
Kurt sos un genio, te mando un abrazo
Somehow like paganini 🙏
Nice tune, nice arrangement. Really well performed by both Kurt and hr-bigband. Kudos!!

We totally agree Isabel Maramba! We also lobe his music and it was a pleasure for us to play wih him.
You guys are FABULOUS!!!
Thank you!!

Music in his heart. Never heard nothing sound so beautiful THE SHOW IS ABOUT NOTHING
The guitars is made by Italian luthier Domenico Moffa....beautiful playing, beautiful music. Pure.
The Moffa Guitars seem to have a flute tone wrapped around the normal slightly harsh Guitar sound . Amazing Guitars .Singing tones. Wish they were $2500.
I keep returning to this marvelous arrangement. This is inspiring and so beautifully played.
It's more than anything thanks
Kurt is excellent and what a beautiful guitar
4am headphones on. Burning a nice Sativa listening to this in the Dark. HAPPY 😁
The guitar tone at 7:32 is just brilliant. It sounds windy as a flute but you can still hear the strings.
Nice description of this musical part! Thanks a lot.
Yeah, I always asked me what kind of FX it can be, I really like to try this

Yes - it's chalky and rubbery at the same time. Your description of "windy" is so true. The pick scraping strings is beautiful.
That was fantastic.
Outstanding performance!

He's playing is like talking like telling a story
Yes you got it 100%
Great arrangement of East Coast Love Affair. Really dig the added stuff.
Hearing this in big band form makes me think of Mingus' work.
yeah, i also hear the hat there.
No doubt it's the idea..the band "quotes" a phrase from a Mingus melody at 11:50 (Good by Pork Pie Hat)
Thank You!
not only the arrangements and the playing but also the audio is amazing.

Great guitarist and love his sound! Great arrangement Mike Holober!
2:38 y hasta el final: qué maravilla!!
Man Kurt is so good. Just so moving...
Can never get enough of kurts word
I love you too kurt
Man, this type of ensemble and arrangement really suits the song... seems more natural than just trio format... to me at least jaja.
La classe ❤😊

really happy to see you guys posting this session!!! awesome. would love to see it all
La fin du solo de kurt avec l'orchestre !
Buenísimo !!!
i love you kurt
So nice! 🎉
Reminds me very much of Bill Evans with Klaus Ogermann, from the 1960's.
Sax player winces in approval at 9:22
Masterful
Schöne Kollaboration. Schade, daß es nicht mehr Produktionsinfos gibt.
Was möchten Sie denn noch wissen?
Ich würde gerne wissen, wie das Audio zustandegekommen ist und wer das gemacht hat (ist ja schön). Danke
Die Tonaufnahme und die Abmischung hat unser Tonmeister Axel Gutzler gemacht.
Envoûtant
Nice &Smooth
It is very nice nice and nice 😎🌺👍❤️🎶
Musik zum Träumen.
❤️
Enfinite inspiration
Fucking amazing
insane
Exquisite playing. (And tasty reference to Porkpie Hat)
Thanks

Wow...
What guitar is he using here.... it so F beautiful
Moffa guitar
This guitar was made for him by an Italian luthier
Like Jeff Beck and Eric Johnson combined
Gréât band
holy molly that guitar!! does anyone know the builder? it's got a Benedetto tailpiece.
@Giosuè Mazzei thanks!!
Why do cameramen always have to try and be clever?
I don't get it...
Someone buy Kurt a shirt.
play guitar use eyes
Que booooo, que ets, joan, Catalonia fredom, llibertat presos politics,❤️❤️❤️
I am afraid this is not political platform It is Kurt music

If you improvise, people won't listen.
I'm definitely waaay better guitarist than Mr. Rosenwinkel.
I'm also a liar.
Good , but not even close to MR. Holdsworth !!!
Is it supposed to be a competition?
Huh? Entirely different players and genres. Kind of a useless comment here. Not sure what the purpose behind the thought is. Maybe nothing.
The way chocolate is far from steak
unfortunately Mr Holdsworth is giant but not melodic giant as Kurt...
PEOPLE WHO THINK THEIR SUBJECTIVE TASTE IS IMPORTANT ARE FOOLS!!!
