Just imagine being addicted to food, phone etc. On countless occasions, people say they will lose weight or not eat junk food but it is not easy. I think you should also let them watch documentaries on what cocaine has done to people etc. I watched a documentary of fine gentleman who has done his Masters etc but addicted to drugs and can't stop. They first of all have to really want to change, Their minds must be worked on coupled with going to church. For someone to forget about their child, it should tell you it is beyond them. It is hard for them. When they are sober, they will definitely say they won't go back but once the desire kicks in, they will run to it. Ask them if they won't go back when the 'teki' sets in.
