- Short film about Chant Cider Somerset. Makers Of Badger Spit Singing and Fighting Cider. A look at the old press and the new with Paul Chant.
Naish's Cider has been made at Piltown Farm, West Pennard - near the Glastonbury Festival site - for 200 years. Brothers Harold and Frank Naish took over the family business when their father William died in 1965, but had been working on the farm producing organic cider since they left school in the 1930s.
In 2005, Harold passed away - a dedicated cider maker who worked seven days a week, never took a holiday, and worked almost until his death; still shoveling the apples into the crusher at the age of 84. Frank Died 29th November 2013 he was the oldest Cider Maker in Britain. He was 89.
RIP Frank 5/2/1924 - 29/11/13

Good evening.
I'm sat ere now in Cornwall drinking Badger Spit Cider 7.5% dry. Believe it or not, I bought it at a bushcraft meet in Wiltshire about 2 years ago and have just found half a 4/5 litre plastic container of it in the back of my food cupboard at home. Even after all this time its taste good, very dry but bloody nice !!.
