ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! Thank you, Mik Have a wonderful life, Mik! We all will whilst listening to your beloved voice! With Great Gratitude, Bridgette (Canada) xoxooxox
Jules Holland has an amazing show, and I sincerely wish it would be aired here in the US! He is a great musician himself, and that Billie Holliday impersonation was great!! Have loved Mick's music from the beginning. Great performance and looking forward to the new blues show.
this was not about john beaz. it was about the folk music community that put Dylan down for going electric in 1965.. I saw Dylan do this song live at the music hall in Cleveland, ohio 0n November 12, 1965. I have seen Dylan 35 times and met him in cleveland on july 17, 1991. he was very nice to me.
That was fantastic, thanks for posting. I agree it was nice to hear a real 'voice' belt out a fine song. Although, I must swiftly add I do love Bob's voice regardless. Great cover of a great song.
Positively 4th Street You got a lotta nerve To say you are my friend When I was down You just stood there, grinning You got a lotta nerve To say you gota helping hand to lend You just want to be on The side that's winning You say I let you down You know it's not like that If you're so hurt Why then don't you show it? You say you lost your faith But that's not where it's at You had no faith to lose And you know it I know the reason That you talk behind my back I used to be among the crowd You're in with Do you take me for such a fool To think I'd make contact With the one who tries to hide What he don't know to begin with You see me on the street You always act surprised You say "How are you?", "Good luck" But you don't mean it When you know as well as me You'd rather see me paralyzed Why don't you just come out once And scream it No, I do not feel that good When I see the heartbreaks you embrace If I was a master thief Perhaps I'd rob them And now I know you're dissatisfied With your position and your place Don't you understand It's not my problem I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is To see you
Excellent vocal cover of this song. Unfortunately the musical accompaniment lacks the lush sound of the original. The Simply Red lead singer can handle so many musical genres an do them so well.
That is a totally ridiculous statement how can anybody do anything better than the original the original is the original You take off the original you have nothing without the original.... My original comment originally commented by me
+Keith Hargreaves Have you heard Bryan Ferry sing it? I have heard a dozen people in Karoke bars sing it better than this. You must be kidding. Sure, It's better than Dylan, But.......
Nice performance, but he messes up the end. He did the same thing in another performance I saw. The last line should be: "You'd know what a drag it is to see you", but he says "be you" instead. If you consider the meaning of the song (i.e. one long insult aimed at someone else), Mick's version kind of ruins the final insult.
It wasn't about Joan Baez at all, it was about the folk community en masse, "4th Street" was the New York folkie epicentre where Bob used to live. This was "fuck you" song after they responded negatively to him going electric. Why would he refer to Baez as a "he"? If you want to hear a Joan Baez song, try To Ramona.
How very interesting. Holy cats, I knew Mick was musically versatile, but a Billie Holiday impersonation? Well, not bad at all Mick, but you really do have to not look at the screen to get the effect. Bob Dylan, one of the best lyricists of allll time! Thanks Mi074.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!
Thank you, Mik

Isn't it amazing how he switches from one genre to another so damn easily?
PopdiscoraggaeR&Bmotown... you name it!
Great cover 📔
As good as it gets .what a talent.
Fabulous interview, Billie Holiday and Positively 4th Street. 👏👏👏
Simply Red is so awesome!
This gives me goosebumps- brilliant xxxxx
Absolutely brilliant!!

i really like this version
He really nailed it
No he didn't….i suggest you do some research into the people who did nail it!
I loved his impersonation! So cute!! :D Mick does have one incredible voice!!!
Cover fantastica, con questa voce !!! ❤❤❤
So good I had it made and have been performing it for years ..still gives me chills
Wow! mick sounds great singing Bob's song love you mick♥️🥰
Fantastic!
I love both Mick and Billie Holiday!
Que maravilha ❤❤

Which she was a part of right?
Exactly 👌
It wasn't about her because they performed together well after he went electric.
Mick can and does sing most songs equally good as the originals if not better......... effortlessly.
Fantastic impersonations! Great Mick!
Amazingly brilliant!
Wow stunning
Love them

Wow that billy holiday was so cool!!!! Loved jools Holland, was such a great show!!!!! Bring it back.
Great version!
Positively 4th Street
You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
When I was down
You just stood there, grinning
You got a lotta nerve
To say you gota helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
The side that's winning
You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it?
You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it
I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
You're in with
Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with
You see me on the street
You always act surprised
You say "How are you?", "Good luck"
But you don't mean it
When you know as well as me
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
And scream it
No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
Perhaps I'd rob them
And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
Don't you understand
It's not my problem
I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you
some songs just should not end
Great fun. Many thanks.
Enjoyed this interview positively
I could listen to him all day. Does a good Bob Dylan and Billie Holliday. Mick just has to “ sang” 🥰🥳
note when he sings he's clearer than when he talks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic
Excellent vocal cover of this song. Unfortunately the musical accompaniment lacks the lush sound of the original. The Simply Red lead singer can handle so many musical genres an do them so well.
I love the words of this song coupled with the upbeat tone.
Great cover!
No one can sing that song as good as BOB Dylan
there is nothing this guy cant sing and more often than not he sings it better than the original.
That is a totally ridiculous statement how can anybody do anything better than the original the original is the original
You take off the original you have nothing without the original....

Yeah !
easily the best version of positively 4 the St brilliant.
+Keith Hargreaves Have you heard Bryan Ferry sing it? I have heard a dozen people in Karoke bars sing it better than this. You must be kidding. Sure, It's better than Dylan, But.......
Bryan's is easily the best
Dylan wrote many wonderful songs but have been better vocally when sang by others such as this from mick .just wonderful and live! What a talent.
can`t surely be five years since i last visited????
WOW!
GREAT!
Billie Holiday!
and another yr has gone by.
Great!!!!
i've listened to bob dylan and bryan ferry's songs after a lot of time after i heard Mick's version. And i told - what a bullshit?
Simply red rules.
Bryan's version is miles ahead of this
Wow. Wow. Wow.
Mick, eres lo máximo !!!!!
😘😘😘💯💯💯🎤🎤🎤

Bob Dylan! a top man everyone copies him.

listen to the backing singers only. . . . . !
super pour la chanson de Bob
MICK!
Red Zeppelin
i'm missing the rite (drum) on the wind instrument solo's :O
Check out Bryan Ferry's version. Best cover ever.
I thought it was gonna be about Red West and Elvis!
Song does not really lend itself to horns-but good job.
Love how he sings the Dylan song but the band sound is weak
5:00
This guy should turn professional!!!
Let me clarify....about Red's betrayal of Elvis.
He fucked up the last line.
boring
twat says what?
And still far more interesting than you are. And with far more talent.
