- Ron has been collaborating with Paul Brodie, a talented builder of bicycles and vintage motorcycles. They have made a trophy, one layer at a time, and it has been raffled off. The winner is Dan Bjorgstrom, in Denmark.
You can see Paul's videos of making layers numbers two, four, and six here:

The trophy looks amazing Ron!
All the details in it really show the metal working skills and experience you and Paul have.
I'm still really surprised to be the winner.
My 12 year old daughter promised to assist me assembling the trophy 😊
Merry Christmas everybody 🙂
Glad you like it, Dan. I expect to get it shipped out on Tuesday, and I'll send you the tracking number.
Ron, sorry but in my view this masterpiece should be placed next to Mona Lisa for milions to admire. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
Hmmm - it would be great to see some of my work (and Paul's) in the Louvre! Maybe someday.
A satisfying end to a very entertaining series. Many techniques were displayed by both you and Paul. As always, thank you for taking us along and sharing your skills with us. Congratulations to the winner!

Thanks so much!
Beautiful finished piece.
Are you going to send it assembled? Cost by girth will be a killer.
Thanks Jere. Dan said he is willing to re-assemble the trophy, so I'm going to pack it as compactly as possible, since Paul and I are paying for the shipping.
Does RUclips let you show you putting your parts with his parts? Just saying.
HAH!
A few minutes to go…
I'm glad to get this last video uploaded. The culmination of a very enjoyable collaboration.
THE BRASS FLOWERS WERE NOT VERY UNIFORM THE TOP 3 CYLINDERS WERE OFF CENTER ,COMPARED TO YOUR WORK HIS LOOKS SLOPPY.
For the record, I asked Paul about the top cylinders being off center, and he told me he did that intentionally, because this is 'art', not a NASA component. I respect artists doing work true to their vision, even when it may seem 'off' to those who work to different standards.
@@RonCovell I CAN RESPECT YOU FOR THAT. METAL PERFECTION MAKES ART AND YOU SIR HAVE THAT .
It's an awful looking "trophy" but I suppose the skill set which was great, was what it was about.
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I respect your view that it's 'awful looking', but many people told us they enjoy it!
I am very excited about this..... Congrats guys on an epic build and collaboration. Glad it came together great and now we have this as a memory forever..... I'm very proud that the idea worked so well w/ you guys working together. Kind of disappointed someone else won but O well, I had an idea I told to Paul, I said I wish I would have gotten a tiny 3 or 4 inch tall trophy for the collab idea.... Basically chess piece sized, I thought that would be hilarious but also super cool. 🤏🏆🤣
Both Paul and I are extremely grateful that you suggested this collaboration. Sorry we don't have a chess piece size trophy for you, but even something tiny takes many hours to craft. Know in your heart that we do appreciate what you initiated.
@@RonCovell - O I know, it was just a joke but I don't think anyone thought it was as funny as I did..... It would be like if first place got your trophy then second place got a chess piece as a trophy. 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome work BTW, I feel like you two working together was good enough for me and I didn't need to win the trophy.... I probably would have given it to a downhill MTB race or something so it could serve its true purpose, to be idolized and sought-after all year until the big race. That's where it truly belongs.... 😁👍❤️
