- How to endo on a mountain bike - whether an XC, Enduro, Trials or any other sort of bike, this same technique can apply to your riding. In this video, I not only break down the individual moves to get you up onto your front wheel comfortably, but I will also give you some of the foundational insight on how this trick can help you riding steep downhill sections and gain more confidence overall on the bike.
In addition to the endo tutorial, I've also included a how to front pivot and stoppie - two tricks that stem from the endo.

Love endos! That happy place called the 'balance point' is hiding beyond that fear of falling off the bike. Same with wheelies and manuals. Overcoming that fear is what makes these tricks feel so good!
Agreed!! Getting comfortable at those points opens up so much more room for great riding!
Just getting back into mtn biking after 7 years off, went with a RM Growler 50 hardtail. Discovered your channel through your GR Live interview and now hoping to - slooooowly - incorporate some of the basics (from this and your other vids) into trail riding. Thanks for putting these together!
Right on, that’s awesome!! Thanks for watching! 👊
Great tutorial @Lutze Time!
One thing I noticed is you didn't mention bailing.
For those new players I'd suggest checking clearance to your top tube and or headset/stem when standing so that you can have confidence you won't hit it if you hop off on the bike side of the bars. I didn't check when switching between a bmx and my street trials bike and lets just say I know better now!
Also don't be afraid to bail over the bars safely on purpose to prove that you can and realise it's not a big deal.
Lutze Time is absolutely on point with this, get that endo locked, I've been doing them here and there and getting better and better, then realised that the 180 pivot I couldn't do previously, is now totally doable! Today will be more endo practice!
Right on - good call for sure on this!! Crucial info here - what to do when you overcook the endo! I’ll be sure to include this point when I do the front hop tutorial. 👊
@@SuperRiderTV legend mate, that will be a very helpful tutorial! One hop still counts right!
Definitely counts! Practice makes progress!
Best mtb teacher
Thank you!! 🙏
Great video again bud! I look forward to every new one. Keep them coming!
Right on, thank you!! 👊
Guy. You should try and do this on a super steep downhill.
There’s one by my house that I’ve been wanting to try, I would probably go through a few sets of brake pads doing it, though!
Hmmm ...a pedalling endo would be a cool/useful way to change gear on a trail bike whilst in a trackstand!
Also true - have definitely done that before! Works like a charm! 👊
Hi bud! My bike is the NS SURGE EVO Can you recommend a Chain tensioner as my bike isn't STRICTLY A TRIAL"S So no helpful bits on my back end lol THNKs 👍💪
That has a vertical drop out, correct? If you're not running a derailleur already, you might consider something like the Surly Singelator that fits right on the derailleur hanger.
@@SuperRiderTV Yes VERTICAL Dropout. I'm single speed and not going full in trials In my 50s and lovin' doing sessions to keep fit. IL check that out and Your vid"s really do inspire me Thnks
Awesome!! Thank you, have fun!!
Do you change which foot you have forward depending on which direction you’re trying to front pivot?
Not typically - it's just easier to go one way, so I recommend everyone learn that direction first to get the fundamentals locked in.
A lot of the times my endos seem to rotate to my right side when I’m up. Is this because of my arm or leg position?
Could definitely be your leg position - are you riding right foot forward? It might be that you're pushing it that way with your back foot subconsciously.
@@SuperRiderTV I ride with my left foot forward.
As usual I want to add a detail. At least when you learn front pivot (at least it looks like that for me now) it's imprtant to start a moving rear wheel motion with you hips. They must go before or further than your rear wheel. That would let you keep a balance. If your rear wheel goes first most likely you would have to put your foot opposite to rotation side to the ground at the end of a move.
Can I join 😮
How to do this with an air fork?
Same principle, you’ll just have to adjust for the rebound as you ease into the higher end of the technique. Start small and work into it, the nuances will come together. I actually started this tutorial video on my XC bike, and the derailleur decided to quit on me, so I had to reshoot the riding clips on my trials bike.
@@SuperRiderTV Ahh okay. Thank you for this additional info.
