The Architect was asked to incorporate the best of Byron Bays lifestyle into the home design, as it’s the first port of call for the family before walking to the beach, its luxurious design has blended a beachside home with a sub-tropical utopia, where the open plan mixes with the outdoors for pure relaxation.
The interior and exterior design is ever evolving, with the blend of timber and stone, creating a sublime interaction with the subtropical landscaped gardens, unique to Wategos location.
Every room has high ceilings, creating lots of light, the combination of Juliet verandas of the bedrooms and the study nooks allow special spaces to get away from it all when you need to.
The uses of expansive windows and doors slide open so the dining and living area allowing your eye to capture the extension of each room, while the kitchen and living area open onto separate court yards, carefully choreography of the space is enhanced by an astute use of buildering materials and aliment timber palette reworked in various ways to create a texture and shade.
All materials have been chosen to for ease of maintenance and ability to age well in the coastal clement.
There had been a lot of detail and thought put into this property, creating a link between the villa and the home with five court yards and side path’s that welcome guests.
This design of the home and the separate villa negotiates the issues of space and preservation of sight, to make sure everyone can enjoy the home and separate villa in privacy, the added benefit in having the house and the villa is it gives you the option of keeping one locked up, while you holiday let the other. Making is easy to pop in whenever you please.
At the beachside entrance of the house is perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach, with an outdoor lounge, relax with the sounds of the waterfall and your favourite tunes in the background.
A peaceful retreat with the courtyards and gazebo that harness the northern aspect while blocking the western sun, the sequences of space are carefully choreographed to maximise privacy and relaxation.
