“I’m not being trafficked” is exactly what someone who was getting trafficked would say……😂😂
I don't think so. Most cases of human trafficking don't involve kidnapping or violence, or at least not at that stage; people usually don't know what's happening until they reach their destination. Usually they're naïve poor people with little schooling and even less information about the outside world who are lured with false promises of well-paid jobs or a happy marriage to someone rich. So, a real case of human trafficking would most likely have a very happy and excited person at that point, thinking they're on their way to a better life.
@@goytabr Exactly.
@@colors6692 How so? Goyla described it exactly how it works. It is almost never like a dramatic kidnapping on the street like a 1970s crime movie.Victims almost never know the trouble they are in until they are away from there own social network and have no access to help.
Why would you traffic a ginger?
It’s good to hear they’re actively looking for possible trafficking victims, even if it’s a mild inconvenience for some if it’s all above board
Somehow I wouldn't suspect a middle-age white man who is 6'4" is a victim of trafficking.
@@mholtebeck I mean, it is still a possibility
@@boopsboops961 It's more likely he would be a mule, and that's what they may have been checking.
@@mholtebeck Perhaps people in different regions of the world have different tastes? Maybe middle-age white men around 6'4" are popular amongst wealthy local women and even men in some cases looking for "extracurricular" activities and command a high price?
@@yvr2002rtw Bring it on!
Frankly there are enough other channels which may show Emirates, Turkish, Lufthansa, Virgin…… but what is great about your channel is the diversity of location, airline, airline type, airport and even hotel…..and food at airport
Yup, Lufthansa etc are just get on, pretty comfy, bit of a snack, get off. Goes pretty much to time. Nothing falls off the wings, no seat cushions fall off.
Fun fact: back in the 1970s, when Uzbekistan was one of the Soviet republics, it was basically off-limits to Westerners, but there was an exception. Finland was a neutral country with good relations and some privileges in the USSR due to the terms of their peace treaty after WWII (or more precisely, a simultaneous but separate independence war in Finland at the time). That included using some parts of the Soviet airspace that were otherwise forbidden to foreign airlines, and even using some Soviet airports. So, Finnair flew from Helsinki-Vantaa to Bangkok-Don Mueang on the DC-8-62 with a refueling stop in Tashkent. Passengers were not allowed to leave the plane in Tashkent, but it still must have felt like an adventure in a forbidden place at the time, and it was the shortest flight from Europe to Southeast Asia, as all others had to take a long detour with further stops through the Middle East and India.
Woah that’s so cool. So basically Uzbekistan was like wiped off the map for a destination for foreigners, no possible way in back then?
@@retroworld1488, it wasn't just Uzbekistan, it was most of the Soviet Union. Nobel prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman spent years trying to get an authorization from the Soviet authorities to visit the Tuva Autonomous Republic of Russia (he just somehow decided he wanted to go there... of course, you can't be a normal person if you're worth a Nobel...), and he died without getting it (his daughter finally went there after the fall of the USSR). There's even a book about his attempts, "Tuva or Bust!" Not even ordinary Soviet people had much freedom to travel inside their own country: there were internal passports, permits, and the like.
However, pretty much nobody in the West, other than those very keen on maps and such, had even heard of Uzbekistan, Tuva, and other such places at that time. They had heard of Moscow, St. Petersburg (then called Leningrad), maybe Kiev, and that was all. That was also all a Westerner was allowed to visit, and even then only after a lot of red tape to get a visa, compulsorily using the official Soviet travel agency, staying at designated hotels, etc.
Wow that’s crazy! Could just imagine those times. And now the country has a whole airline that’s open to the world operating 767 and even the Dreamliner! Incredible.
@@retroworld1488, and Uzbekistan is on my bucket list of places to go. Not the capital city, Tashkent, which is okay but "meh" by all accounts, but rather Samarkand and Bukhara, true gems from the Silk Road times and the Tamerlane empire with magnificent art and architecture that are very well preserved. In Nonstop Dan's personal travel vlog channel, Oskar and Dan, they had recently a series about their visit to Uzbekistan and they absolutely LOVED the country. And it's a relatively cheap place, too, compared to better known destinations.
@@goytabr Oh yes it’s a very beautiful country. Truly a hidden gem! I would go for it! Although I haven’t been, I’ve heard stories of people who have visited and all positive experiences that you won’t get anywhere else in the world and the very affordable prices are just more of the reasons to visit. I believe Uzbekistan Airways flies direct to New York surprisingly, but not frequent annually.
Thanks Noel to show these random carriers. The amount of interesting options between Istanbul to Dubai is mind blowing.... Things like Astana, Kuwait, gulf air etc...
how do I film on airplanes like he does?
“The Trafficking of Noel Phillips” sounds like an action film they dump into February because they didn’t think it would do any business in summer.
The idea of Noel Phillips being trafficked is hilarious.
I guess they're more concerned he could go for some unconventional training...
I know, funny when he said a 41 Yr old man, I think of myself as an overweight 42 Yr old bald man and just made me chuckle as who the hell would want to traffic me!!
What is the black market value of a 40-something bald ginger male?
Kind of like sleeping in a bucket.
Maybe Rachel had something to do with it? LOL
Is crazy in your circumstances, however, full credit to the authorities for being mindful of such issues and looking out for your best interests.
Great video as always! I was a military contractor in Afghanistan/Uzbekistan in 2004 and we flew thru Tashkent down to Karshi-Khanabad via Uzbek air then miilitary air into Afghanistan. The experience on Uzbek air's old AN-24 from Tashkent to Karshi was an eye opener for some folks, with balding main gear tires, leaky engine cowlings, and the glorious wallpaper and leopard print seat covers. I also enjoyed their slogan "Good Luck" very befitting their airline. Glad to see they haven't lost their charm!
Wow early days! I didn't get to Bagram until 2011 and everything was through Kuwait. I only just missed transiting through Manas AB Kyrgyzstan. In my four trips back & forth to AFG I've been through Dubai, Kuwait, and even deported from Qatar.
Lololol
I flew on a hop to New Orleans on a DC-3 sitting next to an Air Force sergeant and
I asked about the oil leaking out from under the cowling and wide eyed-he said,
"I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE FLYING THESE THINGS ANYMORE".
No you weren't.
@@aarons6935 🤣 way to troll my bro!
I traveled through Uzbekistan in 2019, the people are so lovely and they consider it an honour that you have visited their country. Keep up the good work 👍
me too. A fantastic country, with surprisingly good rail connections. I also aarrived in Tashkent at 4.00 am.
Unless they can scam you or steal your organs, because that's what they do in Uzbekistan.
@@crowonthepowerlines what are you talking about? Uzbekistan has climbed seven lines in the Global Peace Index 2022. According to the rating, in 2022 Uzbekistan ranked 86th out of 163 countries. Last year, the country was in 93rd place.
@@realdxb So, its slightly less terrible than it used to be? Still just a former soviet cesspool.
Off topic: His head always looks super clean shaved. So cool👌
Uzbekistan Airways has a very exciting safety video, so artistic and witty you want to watch it to the end!
Tashkent, and, even more, the ancient Bukhara and Samarkand are very high on my bucket list of future trips. Thank you, Noel!
I can highly recommend all 3 locations, I’ve been to all of them and they are wonderful.
Kudos to Uzbekistan airways for looking out for people’s safety
The USA is dropping most mask mandates everywhere because health experts have determined that they are useless and harmful to children by causing learning disabilities and speech problems. In 6 months I have worn a mask twice, once at the doctor's office and once in a large store.
@@peterrisbergs7156 pretty sure the poster was talking about the trafficking part rather than masks )
@@peterrisbergs7156 petey get your brain scanned it will show nothing in there
Uzbekistan Airways just wanted their cut.
They only do that because Uzbekistan is a country full of crime.
I love these videos Noel there’s nothing better than sitting down eating dinner and watching you !
Completely agree with you
Same. More often lunch for me but yh.
Breakfast for me but agree
Just had my lunch while still watching the video, I love it!
@@phr34k86 really is brilliant.
Really great flight with warm and friendly crew members, and what an experience coming from a fairly outdated, but nostalgic 767, suddenly to a shiny new 787!
You gave me a good laugh tonight, a GOURMET APPLE, don't ever lose your sense of humour!!
The new airport in Istanbul looks really amazing. No comparison to the old Atatürk. Used to travel to Tel Aviv via Istanbul a lot before Corona and can’t wait to see the new airport soon.
Enjoy some sunshine Noel. Great video as ever. Love the pudding, a flipping apple wtf... 🍎 😋
This brought back memories of flying Uzbek Airways in an Ilyushin (I think) between Tashkent and Samarkand in bad weather. Bad enough, but not as scary as doing the reverse journey by road in an old Mercedes 600 with a mad driver. This was followed by an Iran Air flight to Tehran (an early Airbus). The equipment wasn't great but I had the strong impression that the Uzbek and Iranian pilots were bloody good flyers
Noel I died when you said with such delight you lied they just brought round dessert and you turn to show an apple 🍎😜 hahaha I'm in bits lol.
🤣
Love the way you complimented the staff on Uzbekistan airlines. Love the colour scheme on the 767 and 787. Great video Noel. 👍😊✈️🛫
Nice airport, I personally like the addition of a live band its a nice touch. Also they were playing one of my favourite compositions!
Who else doesn't skip ads as a way of appreciating Noel?
👇
i do skip ads i just dont approve of youtube shoving 10s of thousands of ads a day into me also they removed the yellow bars so its not predictable
Noel Philips, travelling on carriers that no other Travel vloger would touch.
An interesting travel vlog Noel. You held it together when they took your passport thinking you were being trafficked. But, at least they're on the ball with that kind of thing.
most travel vloggers get thousands of tickets ans offers shoved in from big airlines like that fat chinese youtuber that thinks hes rich and the best person on the world
@@Mizai The envy is shining through there mate.
I remember ANA did that single middle seat in business class from Tokyo to the US. I rode it once and it was like being on display.
I remember Noel's flight on Boliviana de Aviación (BoA), from Madrid to Cochabamba, Bolivia, also on a 767 and in business class. BoA also has that single middle seat, but I think Noel didn't sit on one of them.
One of your more interesting trip reports. A trip down the rabbit hole as it were. You looked absolutely exhausted midway through but you pressed on like a trooper. The apple for dessert was the high point for me.
OHH WOW BEAUTIFUL 💕 PHILLIPS YOU ARE THE ONE OF LUCKY PEOPLE WHO DO THEIR WORK WITH THEIR HOBBY TRAVELING WOW
Great video. Crazy experience
The Guys who travel with the aircraft for maintenance issues are (or were, when I was in the industry) Known as 'Flying Spanners'.. Just thought that you may be interested!!
All the best
Gary..
👍 Thanks for sharing that.
Been waiting to watch another of your exciting vlogs, Noel.. ❤️❤️😍😍
Great Video as always Noel, this brings back memories of when I was a child I used to fly from BHX to ATQ Via Tashkent. I remember the planes had no IFE and were so basic! The airport was literally just a big house so its good to see things are slowly improving!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for another fantastic video Noel! Can’t wait for the next one.
More to come!
Love this airline 👍
i actually hope Uzbekistan airways see your video Noel. That food (Chicken) you consumed looked dryer than the Sahara desert. It doesn't look up to standards that. You can get better quality in a £1 microwave meal from Iceland supermarket LMAO.
Thanks Noel for sharing another great and interesting video.👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure!
you share some amazing experiences . thanks keep it up.
Thank you!
Thanks Noel another brilliant stream brilliant love them all so informative and entertaining many thanks Rich
Glad you enjoyed it
I was in Toshkent airport in 2017, I was there a few hours early for check-in and as the time approached they turned the lights on inside (after a month in Central Asia I thought the dim airport lighting was normal). It gets better, on the plane from Toshkent to KL there was a man smoking in the loos. First time I had encountered that on a flight.
Nice to see Uzekistan Airways on your channel.
Rare airline reviews are cool to watch
I was waiting for this airline review.
Great video.
Keep it up.
I am glad you enjoyed it.
@@noelphilips I always know your content.

Thank you Noel for showing us that Uzbekistan airways is a good airline and that i need to pack a lunch or breakfast if ever flying them!
Thanks Noel!
My pleasure!
Excellent review as always Noel!
I appreciate that
Great video. You can get bottles of efes larger in a cheap pub chain ( weatherspoons)
Always wondered what your scariest flying experience was. Love the videos as always.
You're right. I watched his video ten times to find what he meant by saying the craziest adventure
Hey Noel, as a retired stew, love your channel and even more so, your dry sense of humor that usually has me in stitches in some way. Keep on keeping on, my friend. We old tired stews love ya!!
As usual just love your videos. Places I will never go and things I will never see. Love your accent and I feel like I am there with you much of the time. And learn so much. You tickle me when you say NEVERMIND and when you get hungry and say you feelin a bit peckish. LOL. God Bless
This is the most wholesome channel on RUclips. Lovely stuff.
Thanks Noel great Video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Another great review, Noel! Like the "Save Ferris" shirt!
Trafficked...brilliant 🤣🤣 enjoy that Efes. Love that stuff. Thankfully available in the. Love your videos mate 👍.
Thanks 👍
I Thought It Was Hysterical When They Brought Out The Apple For Dessert!!!😃🤣😃🤣
Hi Noel, great video. One of the greatest pleasures flying with different airways is what they serve for food, I remember flying with Air China back in the 1990's from HKG to LHR and we got served a Chinese meal including a great big block of raw fish - I tried a bit and found it rather chewy and bony, hmm tasty I hear you say. On another flight with good old UTA back in the 1980's from Tahiti to LAX we had a sumptuous meal which almost never ended.
Thanks for sharing!
Oh wow! I lived in UZ from 2013-2015 and NEVER saw a business class on UZAIR like that! Very cool!
Very good content, the flight ✈️ crew very attentive…
Great viewing Noel
Its not Sunday afternoon without one of Noel's videos
Thanks for watching.
One could say there was a "Loo Review Number Two" - but people might get the wrong idea.
Loved flying to Dubai from Tashkent! Even in the lowly economy flights. It was good fun!
Great to hear!
really enjoy your videos
I love watching your vids Noel
Thank you for watching, I am glad you enjoy them.
Very entertaining Noel even if you didn't enjoy the food! Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
I once flew with them from Tashkent to Almaty (about an hour) and the in-flight catering was ... a Mars bar! Magnificent.
Always love your videos Noel 🛫
I appreciate that!
Both planes were actually pretty nice; 767 for a short flight, it was a great plane when it came out, and Dreamliner for the longer haul, makes sense to me. The airport in Istanbul blew my mind, have to go there. The food, well that was the low point of the trip. Too bad because there are so many good easily done meals that don't cost any more than what they served. Some of the airlines should hire better people to buy their food, I don't blame the caterer. All in all I would fly with this airline. Great report Noel.
Don’t knock it till you tried it!! Lol 😂 The icing on the cake was the poor innocent apple just sitting there before you licked it!!! Lol
Noel I love your channel keep it coming
Your so polite.
I live in Vancouver, every Sunday morning when I wake up to go to work , I get my noel fix with my morning coffee ☕️
wow they have L‘Occitaine products in the amenity kit! Great products 👍
really appreciate the subtitles! much appreciated :)
Last time i flew uzbek air it was more like a military transport. But the people of uzbekistan are lovely and its one of my favorite places
Great video also nice to get a glimpse of Air Serbia in Dubai.👍
Thanks! 😃
Biz Class has improved since 2015! Used to economy seats with the middle seat blocked. Staff is always super. Food is variable. The price and short distance to Dubai is a winner!
I went through Tashkent airport about 20 years ago, and believe me when I say that it has improved a 1000%. Back then there was a massive hall for transfers, but the bar and duty free were about the size of a bus shelter. Arrival and departure were horrendous, trying to get a full plane load into an area about the same size as my living room. Have to admit though, the Uzbeks were very friendly
I did too, about 20 years ago. LHR - Tashkent - BKK, in a 767. The terminal was an old soviet era building, one tiny kiosk open, wouldn't take any currency but local, and there was no where to change it anyway. 2 a.m. There were armed guards at departure who were very unfriendly and relieved a lot of the passengers of their duty free alcohol bought in London. No one argued with them, and everyone was glad to get the hell out of there. Never again. It looks like they've built a new terminal and upgraded their fleet. Still wouldn't go that way again.
You're so brave to fly everywhere.. I don't know if I could. But what I do know.. Is that I really enjoy watching your videos. Cheers handsome man.
I love your videos. Been watching them for a while. I've been wanting to tell you that your mask makes you look like Big Bird. 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers!
I’d love to see the world and the many modes of travel, as you are doing.
Your experience was more plush than when I took an Uzbekistan Airways Tupolev TU-154 (3 engines), which even the inflight magazine described as outdated!
Nice one Noel! I would like to try Uzbekistan airways and explore Tashkent. Certainly seems like an adventure!
got my noel philips t shirt yesterday many thanks
I flew London to Tashkent, then back home to London with Uzbek airlines back in 1995 ish for work. Was horrific. When the plane touched down in Heathrow there was rapturous applause throughout the plane. Never been so pleased to land.
Always love that Noel eats (and drinks) the same stuff as most of us :-)
I have been waiting all week for this vid and it was worth every minute of waiting.Question will you ever do the dublin to Donegal flight?
Noel a brilliant video quite an adventure. The look on your face when tasting the food on the B763 was a picture 😂 and a brave face again with the chicken on the Dreamliner.I really enjoyed this vlog 😀👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Flew 747-200 freighters into Tashkent few dozen times...then 2 or more days layover..interesting country. You should have explored..they have ski resorts too!
Great video..👍👍👍
Yes, when I arrived from Dubai, the security staff were very friendly and were fascinated that I had come from Australia. They taught me three words in Uzbek to start me on my journey. Noel, if you think the terminal where you were was grim, you should go back and experience the domestic terminal on the other side of the airport! I flew from Tashkent to Bukhara - have a look at that for an airport!
LOL the guy left from Noel during dinner 🍲 looks like he is dead! And the food 🤮🦠
Great vid as always, for years I really want to go to Uzbekistan and I still have not been, maybe one day. But I might have to fly with them if I go
I am glad you enjoyed it.
brilliant video noel
Thanks!
CO used to do the 2-1-2 config on the 767's, the 1 seat was comfortable, but yes, being so open, it was sort of strange to sit there.
i had so many 767 flights, KL, AC, Condor, Martinair. my alltime favorite plane
Hi Noel! Just want you to know that SAS and Norwegian also just have scraped the mask mandate onboard flights within Scandinavia
EFES Beer one of the best!! Love it. Great taste….
I'm in Kazakhstan working in aviation safety. It's really improved over the years
Such a cool adventure! Wonder if I should make a connection with them to the Far East. Would be interesting to try!
25:37 that guy trying to not show that he’s looking at your camera 😂
Class vid as always Noel
really like your vidoes
Fly's Uzbek: Uggh an apple. Flying United: You guys get apples?
I was cracking up the whole video after the “maintenance guy” showed up. Looked like the cabin crew put a dead body next to Noel. Too funny.
