Thanks so much for this detailed overview of the various settings. Thank you as well for referring to the lenses as 2 times, 3 times etc. and not as "2 ecks" "3 ecks" like some so-called reviewers. It makes you stand out as a professional!

Thanks for this comprehensive tutorial, Simon. You had clearly put in a ton of planning and effort and is much appreciated. So much so, that I downloaded it to my Mac and will use it for reference. To aid in finding the SETTINGS advice, I have added a further bunch of my own chapter headings. Should you feel this is useful I list them below and if you wish you can edit your movie's description and add these in at the correct spots in your existing chapter listing. On the other hand, if you feel that I have overstepped the line, then feel free to delete my comment. Oh, and have a very blessed Christmas and New Year.

Hi Simon, I noticed that you had the 14 pro in some of your previous videos and opted for the 15 pro this year. Did you have a chance to use both Pro and PM and decide on the pro? Or do you just prefer the 77mm tele and smaller form factor?
Love you man. Amazing content. Wishing you lots of success moving forward 😊
Thank you! You too!

Nice tips, thank You.
I have an advice too - if You live in country which use PAL/SECAM TV standard (and also have 50 Hz AC) - it's better to set in options PAL video with 25 or 50 frames per second. Especially when You record displays, monitors etc.
This is a masterpiece ❤
Wow thank you 🙏
Thank you from 🇬🇷

This is very detailed which is cool. I'm not a professional but with this video I learned a lot. Your voice sounds like a NatGeo narrator which is cool btw. It's not so fast and it makes me want to listen to every word you say. I'm waiting for my iphone 15 pro max to arrive and I can't wait to apply these tutorials of yours. New subscriber here!

Done Subsd Sir...Thanks for the nice video and experience
apart from the great video, i can't help but ask, where was this shot? looks stunning.
Is the camera alot better than the 11pm ? I’m tempted to upgrade as I take a lot of nature photography and landscapes
It's definitely an upgrade from the 11pm
Thank you 🙏👍❤

Does anyone know what video editing app Simon features during this video? It looks awesome…
Good Skills! Good Content! Good Simon)) God Bless You!
Thank you very much!
Is Profoto the only way to professional hss iPhone photography. I have Godox x2 pro but can’t find out how to use the flash with an app via Bluetooth in some type of manual mode in the photo
Wow very nice
Thanks!
Very good video. Regards from belize
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge here Simon. I've learnt a lot. I've come from an iPhone12 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max. Thanks to you I'm enjoying the new features. Can I ask, what video editing software are you using? You say using the "slow motion" option on the phone only records up to 1080p. So you just record in 4k 60fps then slow the speed down in the editing software. What was it please? Thanks. Pete.
hi Pete. I'm using CapCut
@@HorrocksoniPhone Thanks for that fast response! Next silly question. Is that on your Mac or iPhone? Thanks.

I love the voice😩😩
I was looking at your video, wow good job sir! Was wondering if I’m the only one (iPhone 15 pro) that has the famous bug of that when I open photo from gallery it doesn’t show at full quality I have to pinch and zoom in and then back to the normal zoom to acquire full quality otherwise if I close the photo and re open it it’s the same , it’s like kinda blurry or not at the full quality pls help 😪
Great info and, always, your presentation is much appreciated. One clarification... at 6:20 minutes you recommend tapping the "f" button in the Edit feature to blur the background, rather than shooting in the Portrait mode for blurring. However, that "f" button isn't available when you select the HEIF Max option. It does appear if you select ProRAW Max.
Strange, I don't get an f button in raw max
Definitely strange. Just double-checked. No "f" button in HEIF Max, and now no "f" in ProRAW Max. I must've toggled something in between first check and last. This is going to take more experimenting.
Yeah so many options now it's easy to get lost in all these different formats
There is only one application in iPhone 15 Pro which can edit the video shot without any laptop.@@HorrocksoniPhone
Very good video sir, appreciate your time and teaching.... I just subscribed your channel and I will follow it. My name is Amjed I am from India, I lives in Shenzhen, China. Thank you very much sir.
Auto subscribe 😊
I’m confused now regarding the “High efficiency and most compatible”.. Even if I select “High efficiency” and I shoot my videos in apple log (422) will they still come out in HEVC? I’m completely new to videography
the Apple Log setting is part of ProRes, so when you tap the ProRes button you override the HEVC setting and switch to ProRes
@@HorrocksoniPhoneWonderful!! Thanks Simon
Hi! HELP PLEASE. I just got this phone and your video has been super informative thus far. I have a question though, is there anyway to shoot a picture or video up close without using macro mode? I shoot images and videos really close to hands (manicurist) and I’m having the hardest time figuring out how to do that without using the macro mode. I don’t like the macro mode shots I’ve gotten and I am becoming really frustrated with it 😢 on my old phone I could just put it up close to the object and it was fine to just point and shoot. Is there anyway I can do something like that with this phone?
the new iPhones don't allow macro with the main camera, and they have bigger minimum focus distance. One option would be to buy a macro conversion lens to place over the iPhone main camera
Do you use any of the various lens/filter systems for photography. There are a few different systems like freewell or prophoto or moment. Do you recommend any ecosystem to jump into?
I talk about them here ruclips.net/video/uRC_O61fbwo/видео.html
I’ve got the 15 pro max and I’m a little confused about using the 5x camera. When I’m going to lock in a photo with AF Lock on a subject that’s far away but want something in the foreground that’s a little in frame and blurry, I’ve noticed the camera does some weird shifting. Maybe it’s switching camera because it thinks the objects that are close should be in focus or something?. I never had this problem on my old 12 pro max. Any idea what is happening and how to stop it?. Thanks
Another great post! As always! Quick question: if I understand correctly... once we switch to Log: we get 10 bit color...? (regardless of the Log flavor correct?) Also: do you have a video in YT explaining the different lenses of the new 15pro & MAx... what I mean is: which ones are optical and which ones are digital...? Thanks! Cheers!
Anything in ProRes is 10-bit, which includes Log as you can only shoot Log in ProRes (unless you use the Blackmagic app). iPhones automatically switch between optical and digital zoom, depending on the light when switching between tele and 1x. But the phone doesn't tell you it's doing it, so you might not realise. The 2x is always a digital crop and not a optical camera change (to 3x or 5x). The tele cameras can also digitally zoom past x3 (pro) x5 (pro max).
But the ultrawide 0.5x button has to use the ultrawide (optical) camera, as the main sensor cannot go that wide.
@@HorrocksoniPhone thank you so much! Appreciate it! Cheers!
Wow I love the look of your video at 0:09 and was wondering how it was achieved, with a log/lut combination or did you shoot in maybe in the standard camera app as a rec709 and did a lot of color grading magic or ....? Now that I think about it, isn't that look the highly popular "Orange and Teal" color grade look?
It's a LUT based on the movie Her with some other colour tweaks
I don't know if you mentioned it or if it's written somewhere but I was wondering what is the software you're using to edit your videos? For example the one at 9:45. Thanks in advance!
