Great video. You missed one though The Wagner group hold, over many key mineral sites in Africa, could easily ignite a major war in a variety of ways. In fact, to a degree the whole proliferation of " mercenary" groups from both the US and Russia, could very well lead to the next major war. Even more probable than many of these scenarios that are somewhat constrained by traditional politics.
A nuclear war could begin anytime, but a real world war takes a lot of support by the population, which I don’t think is there. More groups are moving toward isolationism and civil war than they are looking for a major global conflict.

Hey Simon that last scene of the bombed out cityscape was great(well confronting.) can U do a vid of the before and after on some of these shot out cities
"Claimed it was historically Greek" umm Greeks literally lived there for thousands of years along what is now Turkeys coast, every historical record on Earth confirms that, do not try to pretend that is factually in dispute. The Turks invaded the inland areas a thousand years ago and after WW1 "ethnically cleansed" the region of Greeks along with their genocide of Armenians and Assyrian Christians.
LOL. If it's not yours right now, then it's not yours. Historically Greek means nothing, just ask the Native Americans if they are ever getting America back. Let's live in the now and not the past.
In a world where superpowers can invade and bully smaller countries, without consequences, it makes sense for the Turks to try to do the same, without much to lose. Keep in mind Turkey has made military campaigns in Syria, Iraq, Armenia and Cyprus, without any problems. A couple of years ago the even bombed civilians in Iraq and nothing was done about it.
first of all, history is variable, and at that time Anatolia had its own local people and Armenians, whereas the Greeks did not. The Romans are carrying out the first genocide against Armenians in history, and the Armenians are moving from the Mediterranean to the north of the Caucasus. thousands of years later, the Turks are entering Anatolia. The invasion of Anatolia by the Oghuz Turks took place in 1071, but between 1020 and 1070, with the arrival of the pre-turks, Anatolia begins to be turkified, the Turkmens driven out by the Oghuz Turks came to Anatolia with a slight migration. The Armenian genocide is real, but there is no such thing as the Greek genocide. according to the agreement signed with the population exchange, the Christian Turkish and Greek communities are going to Greece, and the Turks in Greece are going to Turkey. also, if you are not objective in history and continue to study history with the classic stupid western understanding, you will be wasting your brain.
@@toss13 no, Turkey is not a superpower, it is only a regional power, and besides, they are not bombing civilians in Iraq, they are hitting the PKK and its militias. America knows how to shoot civilians best.
I can say as a Greek, it is a hot zone. And most recently a turkish and greek coast guard boat faced off and Greek sailors fired warning shots at them with their HK rifles, and prepared to fire on them. 🙏 thank-you Simon and co.! I have been desiring to understand all this. At first, I began to think, we are all so proud of our external accomplishments, and yet the quality of us/mankind has not improved much has it? There will always be this divide between elites and common people and the only happy story we will be able to find are in the escapism of fantasy books or TV dramas if we cannot find it within our own. I mean that's the goal right? To become heroes of our own stories. But then it hit me. We've got it backwards. We are the foundation, the ingredients, the metal. As we scrape and bump up against eachother, we are starting to be refined. The only fights we have are the ones they give us. And what happens to the metals of a refining pot? The impurities rise. I've been wondering why it seems like the people have outgrown the government! It's because it's time to skim the top! Remove the impurities so they don't come rolling back down on us.
Interesting, some scenarios I never would've thought of and glad you didn't jump to the obvious one of Taiwan but kind of surprised you didn't mention Armenia-Azerbaijan. Specifically if there is some type of ethnic cleansing or even full scale invasion of Armenia. Azerbaijan has the backing of Turkey and Armenia has Iran, perhaps in a situation like this the two get into a proxy war, the two already have beef. It could stop "just" there but with Saudi Arabia always involved with its proxy conflicts and the number of groups in the region could maybe become something real ugly.
😂No, every one is too preoccupied with ruzzians or iranians, plus Armenia's government said that they don't give a "f" *k" about Karabah region nowadays...
If not the usual spots like taiwan, pakistan/india, iran etc. Then my money is on Australia since Australia is becoming more prominent on the global stage. Now Australia is pivoting towards the US (with at one point it being unclear if Australia would side with China or the US in the event of a war) and is pissing China off majorly with trade wars ongoing. Australia is also a major exporter of raw materials like iron ore, uranium, coal, LNG, copper, Grain etc. Lithium exports are also super important. On top of all of this, Australia is in a REALLY strategic position in the world, with it being a major hub in the pacific, and very strategically important for naval and air operations.

2:55 ??? Egypt's President is El-Sisi. Pranab Mukharjee is a former President of India
he also didn't mention the Roman Empire as former rulers of Egypt, or the Ottoman empire, or a number of others.

No mention of Sydney versus Melbourne. Over 120yrs of simmering tensions.

As a Greek I have to admit that I feel strange being in the spotlight like this.
What is more concerning is the fact that Greece has a clear alliance with one part of each potential conflict you mention. Alas, my country will forever be in the middle of some dispute, but like Israel, we will persevere.
Thank you fore the great video as always.

Thanks for the heads-up: I've added a number of countries to my list of "where not to visit". It is incredible that in an age of a proclaimed "climate emergency", countries are still vying for oil deposits to dig up to be burnt. People never learn. What's the point of establishing a colony on another planet? No oil anywhere there perhaps but not much of anything else either.
yeah like not visiting the country will save you from nuclear fallout. also how you gonna avoid America?
We currently have the technology and materials available to go fully renewable. Lithium iron phosphate batteries all use very abundant minerals in the earth (no cobalt). It would cost the equivalent of 5 years worth of worldwide fossil fuel subsidies to completely transition. I'm only saying this because lots of people think it isn't possible, mostly because of very antiquated studies or propaganda
Oh, don’t worry. If we establish a colony, we’ll figure out a way to f*ck it up.
@@bluntdudeyou don't need to avoid America. It's the only country currently capable of truly protecting itself from outside nuclear attacks. The nuclear defense system of America is insane.
If America did get nuked, it would only be because America let it happen... However, that's not impossible, sadly maybe not unlikely.
@@bluntdudebut they can't really do that, since the first place targets would also be the ones we need to defend the most.
Wow, there's at least one Muslim-majority country involved in each of the five WW3 hotspots featured today. Coincidence?
And the west is involved in every tension or even caused it. Especially the UK and US. Coincidence ???

Great video. You missed one though
The Wagner group hold, over many key mineral sites in Africa, could easily ignite a major war in a variety of ways. In fact, to a degree the whole proliferation of " mercenary" groups from both the US and Russia, could very well lead to the next major war. Even more probable than many of these scenarios that are somewhat constrained by traditional politics.
Now they hold several key sites in Russia 😅

Personally I think Belarus v Poland will be the spark ⚡️
Call me an optimist but i do not see any of these leading to a global war.

It could start at all spots simultaneously. Scary, but possible.
The last one aged like fine wine
A nuclear war could begin anytime, but a real world war takes a lot of support by the population, which I don’t think is there. More groups are moving toward isolationism and civil war than they are looking for a major global conflict.
yes none of these really have the potential to start a proper world war, a deadly localised war yes but no one in the west or asia or africa is gonna go full WW3 over the nile or kosovo lol.
They say the current generation is too weak and entitled to serve in a war….which I think is a good thing if that’s a global phenomenon.
@@RadenWAand the next will enslave the predecessor
Newsflash! We have a REAL war in Ukraine despite the fact that the majority of Russian people do not support this war (mandatory drafting or economic struggles are not a happy thing for them even if they do not care about Ukraine itself).
Russia and Ukraine combined is bigger than every other continent on the planet! The fighting there in some parts is worse than most battles in ww2. I'd honestly say ww3 started when Russia invaded Ukraine properly! Matter of time before NATO get directly involved, if they aren't already!
It's mind boggling that anyone even considered the Turkish claims as having the tiniest bit of legitimacy
America knows how to shoot civilians best.

at around 3:00 Pranab Mukherjee was India’s president not Egypt’s
I can say as a Greek, it is a hot zone. And most recently a turkish and greek coast guard boat faced off and Greek sailors fired warning shots at them with their HK rifles, and prepared to fire on them. This is of course, because of Turkish incursion and trying to instigate a fight. Eventually, push will come to shove. We have the backing of France, and Israel. I dont know Frances true committment but they sold us new generation Rafaele fighters fully equipped to counter Turkeys stealth fighter program.
China isn’t invading Taiwan. It’s navy is not strong enough yet.
Second! Thanks for the great videos, Simon!

Just of the top of my head, maybe Simon didn't want to make a 6 hour video?
2:58 Pranab Mukherjee is an ex Indian President and not an Egyptian one
2:56 Pranab Mukherjee was not the president of Egypt, he was the president of India , the name is given wrong in your video 😅
The first one:
Dams don't steal water. They store it for later. A properly constructed dam would store water during heavy water and release it during droughts.
And, Simon acknowledged that Ethiopia were filling reservoirs SLOWLY, so as not to diminish the supply. Seems like Egypt simply resent Ethiopia’s development, I guess. Rather petty.
If the dam is used for generating hydro electric power, water will always be flowing out of it
@@marklythall8712 yes, but they still need to fill the reservoir first
@@H3LLGHA5T That can be done slowly over time, plus it doesn't produce electricity if it isn't flowing. Hoarding it doesn't produce power.
The beautiful place Kashmir where gods came which was the cradle of civilization until Islam came to it and took it all away. What was once the place that people went to study is a battleground.
Only because the Hindu coward that ruled it gave it away to a country that would obviously beat the life out of them. The Kashmiris are lucky they only have a rather minor war because otherwise they'd be facing mass genõ cídé and conversions. Like Xinjiang and China.
Yes, the monkey gods, the elephant gods, the blue gods with 9 arms and 3 heads all came to Kashmir and said "Lo, rxpists and pedos, pooh in the streets and be completely disgusting and vile, have no hygiene and common sense. At 2:55 the Egyptian president is wrongly shown as Pranab Mukherjee. Pranab Mukherjee was the Indian president at the time. I'm guessing the error was made due to India being a Non Aligned Movement (NAM) country, just like Egypt. In any case, India is a parliamentary democracy and the president is only a nominal head, certainly incapable of directing foreign policy.
