      Well it's because she has people to practice with and a reason to use it. In Japan everyone takes at least 6 years of English classes in school, most people just can't speak for shit because the way they teach is abysmal and they are just memorizing dialogues and stuff without ever practicing actually expressing themselves with speaking. It's not surprising how much a lot of the girls are improving now that they're trying to speak a lot more, they already have a lot of the knowledge but just needed practice using it irl more than anything. Edit: peko

    • @SrMissileMonkey
      @SrMissileMonkey 3 года назад +1

      @@jest5837 indeed. Spoken as someone who is learning i can say that one of the biggest issues is sentence structure since in English you get: Subject -> Verb -> predicate; and in Japanese its: Subject -> predicate -> verb. In terms of reading direction yeah it's a difference between JP: right -> left; and EN left -> right but that only really applies to texts written on paper and more JP traditional portrayals. In the modern day with more generalized instances (such as the internet) the language does do left -> right. What you're suggesting can be more focused on the sentence order and not reading direction.

    • @kanra814
      @kanra814 3 года назад +1

      @@jest5837 It's a bit more tricky than that, the left to right thing is only how the sentences are read, and isn't about sentence structure, which is quite different between English and Japanese. From my, admittedly limited understanding of the subject (I haven't ever studied Japanese, this is just what I've heard from a few vids about it) in English sentences go subject-verb-object, ex: I went to the station.
      In Japanese sentences go subject-object-verb, with the direct translation of the same example being: I station went.
      Add onto this fact that depending on the sentence, you may not even need to state the subject (if you're talking about yourself, you may not need to specify you are depending on the situation, or if you're talking about someone else, and that person has already been mentioned earlier, you might not need to mention them again by using a pronoun like we do in English) and you can see why it can be rather difficult to directly translate from English to Japanese

    She can convey what she means and understand context in conversations which is very important, learning different words for things and the ability to make better sentences will come later, but just the fact she's able to convey and understand most of the time regardless speaks a lot about her improvement.

    it has been 2 months since that lapislazuli interaction between Moona and Pekora that started it all, and it's seriously impressive how much English she learned. Granted she doesn't have a teacher like Korone has in order to learn English, but just by interacting with Moona, plus probably studying by herself was really helpful as showed in this video. That's outstanding on Pekora's part
