Using Age of Sigmar Marauders for My Old World Warriors of Chaos Army!

My Warriors of Chaos army for The Old World is using all "modern" models from Age of Sigmar, and I'm loving how it looks so far! I think I've come up with a scheme that keeps these more detailed sculpts achievable within a reasonable timeframe for a full army project, and they don't look out of place across from the simpler Old World designs either! Are you swiping any Age of Sigmar models for The Old World?
This model is from the Brand's Oathbound set for Age of Sigmar Slaves of Darkness set kindly sent to me by @officialwarhammer
Basing scheme for this model:
AK Terrain Dark Earth texture paste
Ryza Rust (dry) brush
Screaming Skull (layer) dry brush
Add tufts as desired!

@@scottboyer8450 I just went and got a Spearhead: Seraphon box purely for the lizard riding a dino. I don't play AoS. I've never got an AoS mini before. But it just looks awesome.

Eh wish there was a bit more head variety for the new murauders. Bit too many mohawks.
My Old World Chaos army uses AoS stuff. They minis are great. Had a Start Collecting box in the pile of shame so used the warriors and knights as chosen and chosen knights. My marauders and regular chaos warriors are made using the Legionaires for a bit of an Ian Miller vibe.

Great video again! Just got into the Old World and your content helps alot to keep me enthusiastic! I'm a fresh square base player, instead of a returning fantasy fan (I think I'm one of the few lol). I would love to do vampire counts with AoS miniatures after i finish Bretonnia, so I hope you'll do a guide on the different VC units and what AoS models to use for them some time... pretty please? ;)
There’s no army that I don’t want to cover, just trying to get the first nine covered first for tutorials for people but I will be doing all of them at some point! Still deciding on what way I’m going with the Vampire Counts! Glad the content is keeping you going, it’s such a great game, can’t get enough of playing it
Looks good, I used my old stormcast models for a kings of war army which came out well. The Aos minis are nice I have some kharadron overlord's which really deserve some paint work. Maybe 4th edition is the one for them.
Kharadron Overlords spearhead maybe? I think the smaller game option is cool if you don't want to sink too much time into an army!
@@MediocreHobbiesthat's a good idea. I swapped armies with someone so have a fairly sizeable force to work through but pairing it back to start smaller is sound advice. Hoping I can find the books and cards for a reasonable price when they release.

totally fair, I'd love to be able to but with the amount of models I need to paint, but I'd never get everything done! Enjoy the process!
He looks fantastic Andy, I’m looking forward to seeing one of the knights done. And even mostly still plastic they look amazing in the army shot. These new marauder’s are such nice minis I’m debating doing some weapon swaps to try and use them for another squad of 40k cultists, I think big problem is some of them are a little to “Lungy” to read right, like they would be better suited to being jakaals for instance.

I don't really fancy the Darkoath marauders for Old World (the models are great otherwise), The AOS Chaos Warriors can be easily arranged into a proper shieldwall as the poses are pretty good, just a couple of reposes at the elbow and some head turning. The Darkoath Marauders are all flapping and flailing their shields about like lunatics.
If i didn't personally LOVE the old Marauder Horsemen and already have them built i would be in for 2-3 boxes of the Darkoath Horsemen though.

While the old Marauders hold a special place in my heart and I have one mounted and one on-foot unit, the new Darkoath are impressive. I currently have the Underworlds and Warcry sets and they're awesome.

@@crisismethodactor Yep. Meanwhile it was about the same for 10 of the old marauders. Glad I snagged them! I won't be paying double the prices for any models I had before, better sculpts be damned.

I like the old world but mixing in AoS more modern minis I dunno about that, the trolls for saying orcs and goblins army there's a 30% scale difference between Aids and The Old World minis.
Hmm might wanna look at that again man, don't see any size issues!

I really don't like the styling of most AoS minis. Too much extraneous stuff on them. Overly exagerated weapons and poses. But the thing that bothers me the most is hair and fur. Often neither look very organic. Just not my thing, but we're all allowed to have different tastes.
Yeah I totally get that! It's one of the reasons it's so good to paint Old World style models again-they're a lot simpler!
