Wow that's very sweet. Nice work. Cool project this week. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come my. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Forge Lit. Keep Making God Bless.
Really like the hook. You mentioned that you would like to have a guillotine tool. Roy from Christ Centered Ironworks sells a guillotine kit that is quite good. I purchased one and I'm very pleased with it.
I really like the design of this hook. I've seen others that require a forge-weld on the shackle and my forge just doesn't quite get hot enough to reliably forge weld. I'm definitely going to give something like this a try in my shop on a smaller scale, I have a bunch of 3/4ths inch coil spring that I could resize and still get a reasonably beefy hook out of.
Nice job. We get better as we critic our own work. I think you're seeing all you need to build one that pleases you next time. Thanks for sharing.
..Good job sir. we call those swinging shackle swivel hooks. Ya always learn something when you make a project, don't stop learning...
