- Here's the last video from Jonathan Farmer's visit to Washington this past winter. It's fairly easy to tie, and nicely balanced, with great motion. This pattern has potential for both summer and winter steelhead. We hope you enjoy it. This fly is tied with an OPST 32mm Steelhead Shank, OPST Signature Barred Ostrich Drabs, an OPST Swing Hook and the excellent and popular OPST Dubbing Spinner. See these materials as well as OPST's popular lines at pureskagit.com/store/. This fly uses the following materials:
•Thread: Veevus 140, Black
•Shank: OPST Steelhead Shank, 32mm
•Trailing Hook Material: 30 Pound Fireline
•Bead: 3/16" Plummeting Tungsten Bead, Metallic Purple
•Cactus Chenille, Large, Pink
•Hot Pink Craft Fur
•Kingfisher Blue Ice Dub, Kingfisher Blue STS Trilobal Dubbing, Blue Steelie Ice Dub, and Electric Grape Fusion Dub
•Fl. Blue Extra Select Craft Fur
•Purple Spey Marabou
•OPST Signature Barred Intruder Drabs, Royal
•Holographic Flashabou, Blue Спорт
It truly is a work of art. It would probably take me 2 hours to tie that, then I'd be afraid to use it :)
Nice fly Jon. Thanks for the videos. They really help keep the spark of creativity alive.
