    The issue is with limited run is they're kinda shady with their buisness practice's, like the time they said they were going to release a Japanese game in English but only the box ended up being English. If they were just more honest with how they did things, that'd be fine. Plus their customer service is crap.
    Also, with their "forever physical" solgan, what happened to among us?

    The problem isn’t that people don’t understand that it’s an open pre-order the problem is you sit on a complete ready to ship Game for seven months we all are aware that production doesn’t start until after the game pre-order window closes what we don’t understand is how come it literally takes3 - 7 additional months sitting in your warehouse ready to be shipped before you send it out. Especially when you don’t even do trading cards anymore.

  • @Nick-p6p1m

    They should adopt a model for the base model of games to do re-prints. Physical was never supposed to be about missing a launch and can’t get a copy for less than double or triple the price. I’m talking base copies. Especially when you see the game on sale digitally sometimes for literally a couple of dollars but you can’t get a copy from a third party outside of $60-80. That pushes people literally the opposite of “forever physical”.
    You should take sign up pools, think MassDrop old style, when you hit 500 or whatever you do another print. It should never end until everybody who wants a copy basically has one. For however long people keep signing up. Anybody buying this junk purely for value to cry over isn’t doing anything for the physical market, which really is the bulwark against companies restricting your ownership. It’s bigger than collection value. It’s a fight against corporate greed, and if this is the future, then we’ve all lost. It’s just a smaller company banking on FOMO and greed.

    PR crap. Just remember it’s over a year wait on collectors editions…. minimum ! I waited 2 plus years for Castlevania collection. Plus never over directly from them…. things will pop up cheaper on their Amazon account then form their website. I ordered Atari Mania, and by the time I got it from them directly they had already dropped their price on Amazon. They refused to price match their own prices !

    The whole point of that company is to get physical games into peoples hands so we can preserve gaming. Not to speculate on what people consider "limited" runs so they can get their game to go up in value. If you want to do that go buy pokemon cards or something. Games is meant for playing, not speculating on. Sickening. To be clear, i've never purchased anything from them but the idea behind it I can rally around. We are losing gaming to digital crap that is going to disappear into the ether. I'm not defending their business practices, but we need more physical games.

    • @RedditLucio
      @RedditLucio Месяц назад +5

      I mean the guy was following a bunch of alt-right accounts which reflects badly on the employee and the business as a whole. I think a bigger problem with LRG is the conditions of games that have been sent to customers, their shipping times, and their customer service. If an employee does something bad the business has a right to fire them.

    • @mikebuynak5338
      @mikebuynak5338 Месяц назад +10

      what exactly about following "alt right" accounts is inherently bad, and enough to justify firing? what they do in their personal life has nothing to do with their job requirements. This is the whole philosophy behind "cancel culture" in a nutshell. Judge people based on their performance in the professional world alone. How does it reflect badly? Do they do the same for employees following "left" accounts? Never. Never happens. This is why things are going south as a whole. I do agree on your second point that the practices of the company as a whole, operating as intended and as advertised is what matters. To think following "alt right" accounts means default "bad" is strictly an ideological belief and not based in reality, its a bias. One "side" or the other being "the proper" isn't inherently correct or incorrect, but the powers that be want everyone on the same page, they hold the reigns of influence and will destroy you if you aren't on the "proper" side (the left). It is a huge problem. I for one will never support a company that removes people for not "towing the ideological line" and nobody should, whether left or right.

    • @Pabmyster
      @Pabmyster Месяц назад +2

      @mikebuynak5338 in the identity politics sense you're speaking of, being alt-right just objectively means you're a horrible intolerant person, whereas being "left" actually probably means someone is inclusive and progressive, which isn't typically a bad look for a company optics wise. That could very well reflect in the workplace, and you don't know how the employee actually behaved in the workplace, so to judge the actions of a company who wants to maintain public image is fully within their right. Stop being a baby lmao

    • @RedditLucio
      @RedditLucio Месяц назад

      @mikebuynak5338 it is correct that naz!sm is bad. Employee follows those accounts, customer sees that the employee follows these accounts, customer brings up this information and questions why the company would hire him if he had these beliefs or if the company shares these beliefs. The company sees that the employee has objectively bad beliefs, the company fires this person due to their actions reflecting poorly on the company. Stuff that people do in their private life can still get them fired at work if it gets brought up to the work from customers, free market.

    Straight from the beginning of the video, within 30 seconds, I have problems. LRG aren't exclusively physical because putting a code in a box half the time is not physical. No game, indie or not, has a right to success. Edit: And now he's attempting to justify missing release dates by a year or more (with next to zero communication) and letting down not just customers, but clients too. LRG has nothing to do with videogame preservation either - they're about videogame limited editions at best, and those have a reputation. GoG has more to do with videogame preservation than LRG does, and does more for preservation. Yeah, I have no time for this guy. Their customer service was (and probably still is) laughably bad. Blah blah unlicensed cartridges, blah blah CD-Rs.

    People that are upset with Limited Run do not understand open preorders, the secondary marketplace, and competitors. Open preordering allows the publisher to know how many copies to make so that everyone that wants it can get a copy. Then, the games go into production. Hence the long wait time. This is normal turnaround times for this business model. These are the same groups that complain about open pre-ordering keycaps (for mechanical keyboards) and they have to wait 1-2 years for them to get it in-hand.
    There is also gatekeeping with those that pre-order a copy. They want it to be limited and speculated it on. Human nature. The point of this was to get physical games into people's hands. But some people ruin it. I can understand why some people that cannot afford to continually purchase games as they release. To be fair, this is a small price to pay to obtain physical games and media because most big publishers would rather release digital games.

Don't forget most physical games now require an update to run anyway. The indie games they publish physically are digital anyway, so people will have those files. The problem isn't as much the physical copies but the proprietary software/hardware these consoles have to run on (which, given Sony and MS are going for more of an "ecosystem" on PC-like hardware the PS4-5 and Xbone-Series will be easier to backup).
      Physical copies should always exist for any medium, but nobody should have to put up w/anti-consumer practices. Instead of fixing a problem they're becoming Ubisoft or Activision; taking the market for a wild ride nobody asked for, treating the consumer like dirt etc.

    BIGGEST QUESTION!
    When will Pay-In-4 payment options return? I have missed out on 4 months of releases due to this sudden change?? Why LRG? Not all of us have money on demand to place the preorder. Pay-In-4 helps!
