- A senior Hezbollah leader, Hashem Safieddine, rumored to be a potential successor to Hassan Nasrallah, has been declared "unreachable" after Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut.
Lebanese security sources said they lost contact with Safieddine after the strikes reportedly targeted him in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh. Ongoing airstrikes have hindered efforts to confirm whether he was killed.
When asked about Safieddine's status, Israeli military spokesperson Nadav Shoshani said the outcome of the raid is still under investigation.
