Finally someone talks about how OCD really is. As someone who's been suffering with OCD for over 10 years, I hate this stigma that was created around and no one actually knows what its like. Thank you
Right? The episode with Howie Mandel a few years ago went even deeper on it. To a point it made Conan uncomfortable and he had to make a joke ,as per.
The idea of 'being a man' when you turn 13 (or 12 for a girl) is more that you are now responsible for your own actions and any punishment/reward is yours instead of your parents.
Treif is also a Yiddish word for non-kosher food.
I gotta go listen to see if he talks more about his OCD… I suffered terribly from OCD as a child. Never went and got diagnosed though because I never wanted that stigma.. I didn’t know if that was going to be on my record and travel with me as some mental disorder so I never wanted publically known. I still have subtle ticks and things I do but I’ve grown out of alot of things I used to do… or at least I have control over most of them to not let them control my life.
I used to think I would never drive because of it and never even wanted to get my license until I was 22 because of the fear that one of my compulsiontions would take over while I’m driving and cause me to wreck.. like I would have to leave my foot on the gas until I count to 4 or I can’t open my eyes until i count to 4, 4 times (because it has to be an even number and 2 is too small 😂😂😂)
But gladly I gained controlled over a lot of those things and am happy to say that it doesn’t consume as much as when I was a child.
🖤
Super relatable experience. I was almost 21 when I got my license, it never fully escapes the back of my mind, but it became MUCH easier in adulthood to ignore compulsions (mine also related to even numbers).
amazing beard Conan. like the good ol days!!
I agree
I LOVE Zach. Grew up on Scrubs and was formed by Garden State. The humor, the drama and more than anything the MUSIC, was pivotal for the formation of my "self". Love him & respect him. Only critique I have is his "no-questions-asked-Hollywood-neo-liberalism". He is too good NOT to question... Great stuff!
Braff is great and all, but where's the rest of the Schlansky interview!!!
It's coming in a little late.
Get Team Coco Radio.
Fair reply. But I for one really prefer to see it. I mean have you compared listening to versus watching the Kevin Nealon episode?!
Maybe it went so off the rails that it’s too controversial for RUclips
Fascinating little clip.
Anyone else think someone should animate Kermit the frog over Zach every time the camera is on him? I listened intently but about a minute before the clip ended my ears asked me who he sounded like and its Kermit the frog right? Once you hear it you cant unhear it! Uncanny!!
Oh yes, newly converted people are usually way more religious than those raised in that faith. My Mom converted from Protestant Christian to Catholic at the age of 58 or so, and she was sooooo Catholic! It was because she was an empty nester after my sister and I went off to college and this became her thing. The rest of our family stayed Protestant, so we always thought she was a bit out there.
Conan, your biggest homage ever to Monty Python, the group of rabbie with blowtorches and shotguns. A twist of Monty python beeing catolich and protestant. The whole podcast is very very very, very good. Thank u Zach for sharing. ❤😊
He´s a nice guy
Certified 'CoCo' classic
Wow this makes sense because I would do the same kisses thing with my stuffed dog "Puppy" that I've had since the day I was born. I'd go to bed but I'd tell myself "I need to give Puppy x amount of kisses in case I don't ever see him again and he has enough kisses to last".
I never really thought of it like OCD but it was certainly a compulsion I had. I don't think I have real OCD or anything but I do have some tendencies but I never thought of that past act through this lens.
I'm 34 now and I still have Puppy... he's in my closet lol and I hope he's still all set on kisses.
Bearded Conan looks like Brendan Gleeson.
First!
Also, Zack is the best. For a while all my internal monologue sounded like his voice, thanks to Scrubs 😅.
I wish they’d talk more about him growing up with goddamn Jessica Kirson
Still blows my mind they're siblings
Wow, TIL. Must have been a lot of laughter in that house (or pain?) 🤣
I'm glad Willie Nelson finally got a podcast.
Beard Conan!
OCD is a hell of a drug
Good God Barbie, do you realize how much we love you
I love your jacket, Zach. Where'd you buy it?
Hahaha Jewjitsu!😂
Santa Conan the barbarian
Lil' Trafe would be a better rap name for Conan.
Rabbis with shotguns, dibs on the band name
Having 2 sets of dishes is not extreme. It's probably one of the easiest thing to do. And, yes, ultraorthodoxy does require Jews to bury a kosher plate that comes into contact with trafe. But almost never happens.
Dax Shephard's Ray Romano impression is impressive
Remember that time Zach Braff punched a 12 year old because he thought the kid was messing with his porsche? Pepperidge Farm remembers
F*ck that kid. Actions have consequences.
Mike who cheese hairy
This guy seems like a hot mess man lol. Hollywood done got to em
Everyone that listened to This monologue was immediately Healed:
Bot
I am rapping and I'm DJ Treif
My beats are dope and my words are safe
This religion seems to be started by the first heath inspector. Bleach and refrigerators could change everything.
As an orthodox Jewish person
No you do not bury the plate
You just throw it away

Shut up!
Making the average viewer feel smart by comparison?
She is the audience surrogate. The podcast (especially the sections without guests) wouldn't work without her.
@@dec2721 what a shitty thing to say.
Really miss Conan on tv but can’t watch all this talking about man made religion. Pure nonsense. Like grown people talking about the tooth fairy
If the father of mr. Graff was Muslim ,we would call this indoctrination.....but nevermind.....double standard all day 🎉
Oh don't worry non-Americans also call it indoctrination when it's Christianity.
It still is indoctrination. It's what parents do. No double standard here.
You have a point, but in this instance there's no punishment for leaving Judaism if she changed her mind at some point. Leaving Islam is punishable by death in some countries.
@@arvinbuenaagua5161 sure...Conan laughing nonchalant about a Christian woman being forced over love to loose her religion for "muhammed from Syria or Afghanistan" would make the same great lines of joke.....
I m convinced and so are you!
@@juwon30 "forced" lol. that was a grown woman, old enough for marriage. you saying she was 'forced' takes away all of her agency-she was an adult who could make her own decisions and you're weird for acting otherwise. is she not allowed to change religion? what scenario would be acceptable to _you?_ because of course your opinion on this celebrities' parents marriage matters
