🎤 Lyrics: Luke Combs - Where the Wild Things Are
[Verse 1]
My big brother rode an Indian Scout
It was black like his jacket
American Spirit hangin’ outta his mouth
Just like our Daddy
He kicked-started that bike one night and broke Mamma's heart
He pointed that headlight west
Out where the wild things are
He'd call me up every couple of weeks
From South California
Talk about the desert and the Joshua Tree
And his pretty girl stories
How he bought an Airstream trailer and a J-45 guitar
Said little brother you'd love it out here
Out where the wild things are
[Chorus]
Oh, it's hearts on fire and crazy dreams
Oh, the nights ignite like gasoline
And light up those streets that never sleep when the sky goes dark
Out where the wild things are
[Verse 2]
I called my brother from the back of that plane
The second I made it
We started drinkin’ on the strip in LA
And then it got crazy
Ended up at a house in the hills with some Hollywood stars
Kissin’ on a blonde in a backyard pool
Out where the wild things are
Oh yeah
[Bridge]
Couple iron horse rebels
Wild as the devil
I knew I had to move back east
Said goodbye to my brother
At the end of that summer
But I knew he'd never leave
[Chorus]
Oh, its hearts on fire and crazy dreams
Oh, where the nights ignite like gasoline
Oh, them Indian Scouts, man they're built for speed
And oh, they said he hit that guardrail at half past three
Lit up those streets that never sleep when the sky goes dark
We buried him out in the wind 'neath the West Coast stars
Out where the wild things are
Out where the wild things are

_Oh, it's hearts on fire and crazy dreams..._
*_Question:_* Do you have a wild heart?
Aaaa.....Yes!!!
It has been my dream to live on the road since I was 10.
I'm 16 and just bought my mobile home.
When I hit 18 on the road I go

Lost 2 of my older brothers, 10 years ago one was 23 and last year another at 31. Had to turn to Jesus to heal my broken heart but man I tell ya this song sure brings back their memories. Yall don’t give up on Jesus that’s all I can say.
May the Lord bless you and give you the strength to keep going and remember them.
My big brother passed 11/4/23 from cancer. 39 years old. Today is the 6 month anniversary of his passing and this song brings me the most peace
Rip to your brother. My condolences to you and your family
😢😢
RIP BIG BRO
I’m right there with you brother. Lost my 25 year old brother 2 years ago. Goosebumps from this song everytime. He’s telling me he’s right here with me!
RIP brother but always with you 💙
As soon as he says “They said he hit that guardrail at half past three…” I involuntarily get goosebumps every single time.
I started to tear up
Same
Honestly I can barely even type this right now my eyes are so messed up. I don't even know anyone who rides but it just breaks my heart to think of all our brothers and sisters out there whose lives were cut short, and their friends and families whose hearts were cut to pieces from it.
Take care my friends!
Same I started to tear up really badly
DONT TAKE THIS SONG OUT OF CONTEXT
I lost my big brother in '20. It feels like yesterday. He was my Best Man, God Father of my kids and so much more. Still struggling but I hope I will see him one day. I love you RJ.🙏😔❤
I'm sorry for your loss hope that u don't have to go through that again 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
I’m sorry for your loss
As a sister and a mother, this song makes me cry. Thank you, Mr. Combs.
Lost my brother in 2015 due to a motorcycle accident. Lost my dad the same way in 2022. This song hits hard
Very sorry for your losses…
❤❤
"American spirit hangin out of his mouth, just like our daddy" is the moment I liked this song. My mamma told me my lil bro played it and she had tears streaming. He had no idea about the ending and she told him. He said "oh.. that's what it means?" Made me cry as his biggest bro relating to this song after moving away wanting a bike❤
I miss my twin,😢 lost him last August 💔 motorcycle accident, 6/20/99- 8/8/23 #llkb till I’m with my brother again, imma hold it down for his daughter ❤ I love you Kris
😊
He was so young! I’m sorry 😢
Hope your doing good. He always going to be there though. Right next to you regardless you know it or not. Give them little ones hugs and treasure the little moments.
Lost my twin is October of 2023 from a shooting, this song always reminds me of him. hugs ❤❤
I'll come back to this comment in a few years time👌hope everyone's winning in life. Keep moving forward.
I wish I could say I’m winning in life but rn is kind of a struggle, I know some day It won’t be a struggle though
Thanks same to you may God bless you and your family, and hey I'll try to make the best of it
Yea bud life a wild one lol so true hope you have a good life
Miss my older brother😢, I know your in a better place...love you forever😢
The bridge brings a tear to my eye everytime for that reason.
I sorry for you brother😢😢
I know this feeling a missing piece from your soul 😔
Proof Luke is still real.
It’s hard to pick which Luke Combs songs are the best, but this is really a deep seeded lyrical song that tells a deep story. Coupled with the fact that Luke’s amazing vocals- this is another one of those truly captivating songs in his career. And this is why we love country.
I really like this song. My older brother passed away three years ago, and he was my wild thing. RIP Alexander James 'Zander'.
May he rest in peace brother 🙏
best country song in years..... musicians take note
I’m a wrecker driver in the Marines. One of my biggest fears is one of my friends getting hurt or killed in a bad accident and me having to recover his truck.
This song is written so well. From the beginning, and the first chorus, you feel the upbeat message its trying to display, but the music tells you something's wrong. It leaves a sinking feeling in the back of your throat until you finally reach the conclusion. Excellent work.
I get what you mean. The lyrics, up until the last verse, are "listen to the wild times my brother and I had, it was so fun" lyrics, but the background music itself is the kind of music you hear in tragic songs, so the whole time you just feel like something isn't right, and you're waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I like how this song is comforting and a warning at the same time. It’s reminiscing fondly on an older brother, but also remembering how heartbroken everyone was when his “wild heart and crazy dreams” led him to the wreck that took his life. I interpreted it more as “have fun but also don’t take unnecessary risks and break your family’s hearts.”
I love your interpretation. Comforting but a warning. Enjoy life but don't take it for granted. Thanks.
@@eltowbar9671 Exactly! I am glad you liked it ^^
My big brother died from an od in a ditch because my sister told him when he asked for help to pretty much go screw himself. I miss him because I didn't get much now time with him. I don't know if he really believed in Jesus. I hope so because I'd like to see him.
I'm so sorry for your loss
My condolences, praying for you brother🙏
I'm so sorry for your loss !
I'm sorry for your loss. Just know he is no longer hurting and in a better place.
I’m sorry this is tragic and I don’t know the situation but I’d try not to hold a grudge against ur sister for that, dealing with a family member and drugs is terrible and sometimes the more you help the more they take, and worse they get.. it’s hard to figure out the right thing to do. I’ve been there.

My big brother was hurt in a motorcycle accident and was a quad for ten years. Fought every single day until passing 7 days before his 32nd birthday. Total bad ass. Forever my hero. Happy 40th birthday Scott Lee❤
❤
I lost my little bro in a car reck 5 yrs ago i miss him
Wreck*
Yeah I’ve listened to this like a couple hundred times
I tried to write something profound to leave in the comments, but my words keep getting stuck. The story he paints makes me feel like I was there seeing this all happen. That is the gift of a true artist.
One of the best country tunes ever written. Ever.
March 31, 2024. Today im dropping this comment to let you know that im gonna be a big shot artist soon. My songs will be bangers shortly. And when that happens, I'll make sure to slide back here and leave a comment, so that all you guys who believed in me can be proud. I wish you all the best and don't mistake my confidence for arrogance. Peace out 🙏🏼
Good luck!!
Love your confidence, that's all you need, to believe in yourself and you can do anything 🫶✌️
Go get it bro! You can do anything you set your mind to! ❤
Good luck man
Live the dream
Can this dude sing anything that's NOT good? No! Awesome!
this describes perfectly how my days are going now, lost myself to depression for years straight, sh and just mentally drained. Country helps me because all the songs aren't sad or depressing, anyone dealing with depression out there, trust me, sad music won't fix your mental health, it ruins it.
I love this song! P.s. growing up my favorite book was Out Where The Wild Things Are.😂 Funny how things work.
I just left So Cal after 10 years to help my little brother through some stuff in the Carolinas. I don't care what politics tell everyone, I loved the shit out of my life in LA and had such a good decade it's almost hard to believe. I'm not a country guy but I've been told I have to listen to this song so here I am.
Yeah it just depends where you’re from man. No matter the politics, California has a reputation of being dangerous. It’s not for the people that listen to this music that know they are safe in their community, surrounded by people they know and love.
@@jacobleatherwood4298every state has dangerous parts not just California …
And you had to use foul language WHY? SMH...Get counseling
@@BBAKER22 Who are you referencing? I don’t see anyone that used foul language lol
@@jacobleatherwood4298 Google "most dangerous states 2024" though. South Carolina where I am now is number 9. Cali isn't top 10
One of the best songs ever ever!
Lost my oldest brother in Iraq 03/16/10 and my oldest nephew in Afghanistan 04/14/24 this song brings me peace to hear it
Reminds me of my time stationed in 29 palms before retiring.
Semper Fi brother
Leaving this comment here so in the next year or so I can see how much my life has changed
Me too
This reminds me of my big brother i lost him 4 months ago this helps me i love you Matt miss you so bad
I normally don’t tear up on songs, but my brother got in a motorcycle accident about a month ago and I realize how lucky I am to not have lost him. Thank you, Luke Combs.😢
Awwww this song. I come from an island in the Pacific and got married to a guy from Utah. Love this song! It also reminds me of a place my husband and I go to for vacation, BYUH Lyttle Ranch Preserve, it's in the middle of nowhere, border of Nevada & st George....
St George? My Aunt from Georgia has a condo down there. It's not handicapped accessible. 😢
Oh honey I wish you the best and you know what you have that wild heart and wild dreams so it will come true in Jesus name I bless you and yours Sandy from Buffalo New York
Loved this man since he debut
I listen to this every day now that my little brother went and got himself a bike, and I pray every time I hear it I can never relate
It was a great time for the wedding and we were glad
Love this song so much
This might be Luke's best song yet !!
Hate country, love this song!
My brother pasted away 5 months ago it reminds him of him every time I listen to this song
So I got my card, suddent March 18th. I was listening to this and I love song just makes me think about it 😢
This song hits different
This song made me look up what an Indian Scout was, now i plan to save up for an Indian Scout Bobber, and by god im gonna ride the open road with that thing
Just be careful because I think this song is partly a warning about someone’s “wild heart” leading him to death
I'm so sorry for your loss
Love love this song so much. Missed all my friends that have passed on too soon. Wild parties back then was the best. Miss you Wilson ❤
Put this at 1.5x speed, sounds really good
I'd sing it for karaoke at a bar.
my uncle passed away from hitting the guardrail on his harley in 2020.. this song hits me different..
..........good tune! We all have a need for free, right??
Reminds me of my uncle. RIP Uncle Dave, miss you so much.
My daughter loves this song.
This song reminds me of my husband's son who lost his life last August in a bike accident. We miss him every damn day! I'd give my whole life just to have him back! He should be here.. LONG LIVE WILLIAM CORBIN GRIMES SPAINHOUR!!💚💚💚
Просто класс последний альбом просто супер
This song reminds me of my friend Tony who passed away in 2019 He had an Indian and a Harley
The older brother suffers in silence but guides the younger brother to be better than he was, ive seen it a million times,
Sounds like “couple iron horse ripped”
it was her favorite song, I miss her so much.
In 2012 my big brother died while riding a dirt bike on a highway when a truck hit him I'm 14 now and this song makes me sad to think I never really got to know him a whole lot one day I'd like to meet him again in heaven.
By far my favorite Luke combs song
Lost a good friend a couple years ago in a wreck. I got him into bikes and taught him what he needed to know. He never stood a chance and I still blame myself sometimes 3:12
Approximately day 30 of trying to get through this song without crying. Not there yet.
Him saying “said goodbye to my brother, at the end of that summer” makes me think I had to say goodbye to my dad. Aug 19th 2023.
Excellent.
Can't wait for the Indy 500
I've came close but my little sisters are counting on a big brother to stick to their side
Good to hear again from you. Good Song
Love this man's voice his voice turns me on every damned time 😂❤😅
I lost my cousin and aunt and highschool friend like this … and saved a few
Ooooouuuuueeeee 😊😊😊
Lost my dad to a drunk driver in 2020 , the part where he says he hit that guardrail at half past 3 gets to me everytime because that’s when my dad was hit and taken
Love this song. I'm the big brother in this song but haven't died yet
Take care brother. It's commin for us all. 🙏
I can drink that…. Those big block chevys are built for speed
R.I.P. Nick💕🙏😇 1:10 1:12
I love this song. But it's sad.
My brother almost lost his life on his ninja almost a year ago and some how some damn way he didn’t lose his life…my uncle who passed away or someone was riding with him…to that guardian angel, I say thank you so much🙏🏻
My Favorite song, this his my emotions deeply.
R.I.P
Great song
Sgt. Knollwood, I never told you how you changed my life. I heard this song on your funeral this week and it broke me. I just wish you would have called me. Sargent Marcus knollwood, may fiddlers green be all those things they say.
May 2024
I feel like I’m the one with the scout 🫡🤞🏻
I feel like had they this came out in 2018 they would’ve used it in the episode Rooster dies on The Ranch
❤❤❤
May I ask you name?
Lost my best friend in 2004 due to a motorcycle wreck. He hit the guardrail and the EMT said he never stood a chance. It nearly cut him in half he hit so hard and so fast. I’ve hated motorcycles ever since! I can’t even drive on that road anymore. It still breaks my heart because the horrible things I went through in life after his death could have been so much different. I would have given anything for him to be here with me and to have seen my kids. God things could have been so much different. I miss him so much and so much love died that day 😢
Omg I love your music, you are awesome. Wish I discovered your music sooner 💚🌺💜
❤
My little brother just died but still this song hits so bad..
It's like there's a few lines missing from this story. One minute he's partying with some blonde in Hollywood - the next he's saying, I knew I had to move back east.
😊😊
😇
❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤
Música muito linda
My brother died on his birthday from a birth defect on April 30 I’m the first born and I was there and watched him die that day and went to his funeral at 3 years old and it hurts my soul every single year and on April 30 this year he would have turned 17 and I miss you baby brother and I go to his grave just to look at his grave stone and I miss him
I'm so sorry you had to go through that and I wish you the best❤
Maybe my brother will sell me his camero
My husband said this is his to me when we got married 😢
Yeah I wrote this song
