      @@Kickex I think he once said to Walt, the one time he invited him over, that his Family was away or something. I think it was a lie. I'm not sure, but I think Gus might have been gay. There really aren't any scenes where he interacts with Women in a social setting, so we have no idea his orientation it may not be anything that needs to be touched on. But he was certainly very close to both of his cooks that he trained himself, more with the first. Doesn't make him Gay but it's not impossible. As for Gale, when he got killed, I wonder if he viewed it as a repeat of his past mistakes. That could be why he seemed to make killing Walter very personal and not just business. It's also possible he intended to get rid of Jesse all along as soon as he trained a new chemist. We'll never know what he intended of course but it is fun to speculate.

    In fact we can be pretty sure that Gus was in his actual home. Why? Because it was the same place that Hank found Gus returning to everyday without fail on the gps tracking. Gus spoke of a special dish that he could not make often because his children wouldn't eat it. Also his home has toys strewn about. Gus's home was also watched by Mike, particularly when Walt was sitting outside Gus' home with intent on killing him. The reason we don't see Gus's family is a typical issue around casting.

    I would like to see a prequel series of 😊 Gus & his Chilean backstory o as a army general during the Chilean revolution & befriending all the Nazis from WW2 that were literally hiding out in South America after war that all started huge secret colonies there that are actually still there to this very day & not just Chile , where Gus was born & grew up & joined the military & government at but also cuz they colonized Chile , Argentina & Paraguay & parts of Brazil & Uruguay under the protection of those governments!!!!! It only makes sense that the German owner of Madrigal was atleast a second generation Nazi that got involved with the Chilean government & dictator at the time in some fashion that he met Gus while Gus was a general in the Chilean army back then!!!! Call that a reach but honestly , Gus talks to him about it in Better Call Saul about their time together back then fighting together in South America so either he was a German tourist that randomly got involved with the revolution going on at that time or he was a Nazi colonizer that was born there & already had ties with the Chilean government hence how he met Gus !!!!
    After all is Don Eladio says to Gus the day he meets him : "The only reason you're alive & he is not is because I know who u are !!!! But just remember that ur not in Chile anymore"
    Him saying those words to Gus lets us know as a audience that Gus was just as ruthless if not more ruthless than the Cartels in Mexico hence why Eladio feels forced to demonstrate his own dominance to remind Gus that he is in Mexico now & that the Cartel is the only badasses that call any of shots in that part of the world!!!!

    That's idiotic. It doesn't matter how YOU PERSONALLY perceive the character. Being gay isn't a sign of weakness.
    Interpreting something in your own way is fine, but projecting your homophobia onto a character which is left open to interpretation is pathetic. Being gay didn't make Omar Little any less menacing in The Wire, for example.

    SPOILER (well maybe) But IMO Gus' back story is absolutely crucial to the new season (5)! In the flashback episode Don Edalio tells Gus that the only reason he doesn't kill him too is because he knows who Gus is in Colombia. The cartel sniper emphasizes this when he refuses to kill Gus too. Walter White killed Gus. The Colombians are coming for him. The machine gun from Season 5 Episode 1's cold scene is protection from them. I highly doubt Walt would go out blazing against Hank. But that's me.

    Its a sad commentary when people decide that every emotional relationship must have a sexual component.
    If that were so then war films featuring men sobbing over their friends deaths must also bespeak homosexual ties. What a sick society we have today where sex is considered the prime motivator for any deep relationship.

  • @youngoldbones
    @youngoldbones 11 лет назад

    Nope, Vince Gilligan said that such a relationship was not intended in anyway. However he allows that each viewer can make his own assumptions. That being said, Gus has children and alludes to them in the episode where he invites Walt to dinner. There are toys seen throughout the home. That Gus' family is not present is not surprising, as it would seem unlikely that he would introduce his children to his criminal cohorts.

  • @youngoldbones
    @youngoldbones 11 лет назад

    He was horrified because HE/GUScaused the event/meeting to take place, he wrangled for the meeting, it was his manipulations that brought about the meeting, therefore he was responsible for his friends death. The writers have not identified Max as Gus lover, only his friend. and "partner" at that time in history had NO sexual implications. Gilligan cannot categorically state that Gus was not gay because to do so would seem homophobic. Gus has children and speaks of family as being EVERYTHING.

  • @youngoldbones
    @youngoldbones 11 лет назад

    The family man "story" may well have been just that. But there is no confirmation on that theory. Nevertheless, there is no real reason to presume Gus and Max had a sexual relationship. No reason what so ever. For Vince Gilligan to answer clearly on the matter would be unpolitical these days. So one can understand his vague response. Trying to identify Gus and other fictional characters as gay smacks of the same desperation of trying to label past notables as homosexual when no evidence exists.

  • @JeReL19

  • @JeReL19

    As a Gus fan it would disgust me to think of him tounge kissin young dudes. I don't interpret him that way. The kid broke Gus into the business just as Jesse had small connections in the drug business.
