- Readings from a rare study linking ancient spiritual practice with modern neuroscience.
Parallels are drawn from these insights with similar ideas of Gurdjieff's Fourth Way, revealing their origins in the instructions to monks on the path of Theosis in the tradition of the Neptic Fathers.
Excerpts from the article "Theosis in the Light of Modern Brain and Mind Sciences" by Brother Theophan Miskovic to be published in the anthology "Ascetic Practices and the Mind in Eastern Christianity" by Catholic University Press.
Brother Theophan was formerly a neuroscientist.
This the best summary of all things to be done. Thank you ❤
Grace and Gratitude 💛🙏💫
Thank you , very interesting, so keeping watch alone could then go on indefinitely unless a guidance - loving correctional gesture moves - offers it a transformative resolution. I want to learn more about this, more and more does the Christian inner ways makes sense to me, thank you again , I so want this 🕊️
Very interesting. I'm in the beginning of watching my thoughts. In my studies, it was suggested that when the negative thoughts arise, try to discover the origins. That was the hard part. Sometimes you can't get back to the start and when you can, it can be shocking. I'm working on being the passer by.
Negative thought, according to Fathers, usually comes from our own accusations of someone. Clear as crystal.
Thank you very much, this is very important and very timely. If anyone knows of further resources ahead of the publication of the article, I would be grateful to know about them. For my own part I just found videos by one Dr Stephen Muse, and will make time to watch.

I just had a comment d3letd by YT, where I mention that Brother Theophan speaks on a YT video by 'Institute for the Study of Eastern Christianity', streamed 2 months ago (day 2 of a Conference), and also confirm that Fr Stephen Muse is well worth seeking out.
