Those teams are already talking to Coach Prime. They won't go into a draft, after a play they can't get. It's a smart move. It's going to force teams to deal with each other to make it happen.
Let’s play this out. So a team Deion doesn’t like uses a top 5 pick on Shaduar. So Prime says fine we’re setting out the year and will comeback next year as an undrafted free agent. That struggling team will get nothing for a top 5 pick and for months every outlet will be talking about how bad this team is, how poorly run it is how bad the owner is. That’s not the worst part. What if there’s a bidding war for Shedder when he hits free agency the next year and one owner who’s buddies with Prime decides to pull a Deshawn Watson type deal? Not the same money but significantly better than the standard rookie contract. I don’t think any of the owners want to set that precedent.

You only have leverage if the threat is real that the player will not sigh and reenter draft the next year (Eli) or (2) be signed to another sport (Elway (and threaten to go do that. I'm not sure either applies to Shedur.
@kdckeino Shedeur did say he would come back cause he has another year of eligibility if the draft went left so you wrong. And shedeur is rich he don’t need to go high he can tank his spot in the draft. Think before you comment
