God of War III - Bossfight Zeus (Titan Diffculty)

- Killing the Endboss Zeus will unlock the "Retribution" Trophy in God of War 3.
The fight contains 4 parts. I suggest to use the Nemean Cestus in all fights. In the first one Zeus will use his electric punches a lot. Just block the first two punches and jump + fly away when he starts his third attack. After Zeus has got enough damage you can grab him with the Circle button. Now he will change his tactics a bit. He uses a kind of electric storm now but he doesn't use it often. In my video he uses it one time only. You can block this attack as well. When Zeus is in the air (he flies sometimes) you can use your Bow of Apollo but be careful - sometimes he'll pile you. The most of his attacks can be blocked, the third electric punch is the most powerful of his attacks in the first part. You can use your magic attacks 3 times here. Your magic will reload a bit after this fight!
After you grabbed him the second time a cutscene will start.
Now part 2 of the fight begins - this is the easiest one. Just block all of his attacks and wait for gaia. Another cutscene will start.
After you reached the heart of gaia the hardest part of all bossfights in God of War III will start. On high difficulties the "fake zeus" which are spawned by the real zeus can become a problem. Zeus fights with an other tactic now. After he is damaged badly he'll try to get new health from gaias heart. Try to stop him and use your magic attacks in the end of the fight. Avoid the attacks of the fake Zeus till you killed them.
The very last part isn't a real fight. It's too easy to create a video for it. After you escaped this "black hell" you get a mysterious power and Zeus will release you. Just press the Square button to attack him quickly and after about 6 hits you'll have a fight with him. When you've to press Circle all over the time the screen will become bloody. After it's completely full with zeus blood stop pressing the buttons and the final cutscenes of the God of War III series will start.

i played this game on titan for the first time i had to say, all this is beautiful, knowing that you can block basically every attack is a life savaer, BUT the fight before zeus is the real end game boss fight: explosive dog launcher cerberus and his 3 satyr. Holy ravioli.
Same here zeus was easy but this dog and his friends have beaten the shit outa Kratos

Rogue_Spectre 706 I was about so switch difficulty because of that fight, but consistency is key
I just used the caestus and kept jumping around the cerberus and the goat dudes but it still took forever on titan mode
I beat him by just spamming the nemesis whip L1 Square over and over again. You stay airborne and you do constant damage. Same for the long ass labyrinth section.
That moment you finally beat him and you dont stop punching him...Kratos got his revenge...you got yours!!!

+Fik Nikos The producers of the game told in an interview at E3 when it came out - that they made it so that after a long lethargic fight, players can take the piss on Zeus. The best part - the god of Gods, Zeus, can take all those punches, despite being wounded añd weak.
40+ tries over 2 days. I beat him for at least 5 literal minutes

Good tip in the first stage of the fight, after the first block, if you see a white light between Zeus and Kratos (perfect block), press square twice, you will defeat Zeus faster.
the clones part is really frustrating, they keep spawning and the fucking guy doesn't die. fuck.....

I always use it as a counter but the thing is it's pretty inefficient to make counterstrike in GoW 3 (it was better in GOW 2) and block is a better choice.

Man, you saved me. I had problems in the last part, after Zeus heals himself absorbing Gaia's power, but your gameplay gave me the idea of what I needed to do and I defeated him at the second try after watching your video.

Titan was pretty easy in my opinion. but the hardest part was when you had to fight a cerberus breader and 2 satyrs. The took me about 3-5 times.
Damn bro is out here flexing, that fight took me like maybe 40 tries

nicely done!!! i pretty much did the same thing in the first parts but in the toughest fight why dont you use rage of sparta? it makes things alot easier. and do the arrows help enough to bother with them or is it just like to fill in the gaps?
Ans people who are having problems ending this on titan mode.... shame shame, its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I unlocked four trophies by finishing titan mode, including king of the hill(platinum)!!! YAY :D

damn, I am without magic at gaia heart and I can't beat him. I tried that L1 + O grab with shoulder hit but then after clones show up it is game over. I will try your way now but not sure if I can handle clones anyway, you could use R2 to get rid of them....
I feel cheated now. I spent all that time before Gaia showed up actually trying to kill him.

Yes, i agree, after trying many times with the nemean cestus, i changed to nemesis whip (upgraded to max) and beat him on the second try, so now i got platinum :D
It's much easier than using nemean cestus, and the whip's magic works great to deal with the zeus clones.

I've watched tons of videos on how to beat Zeus. (Titan Mode) Yours explains it the best.

Oddly enough, I had way more trouble with the first 2D sidescroller part than the Gaia heart area. Took me over a dozen tries to get that first part. I got the second part in 3. Thanks for the video, your guide did a lot of heavy lifting for my bad gameplay lol

I tried this way and really works, really is much easier than show the video, don't need to get far away everytime you hit him, just keeping hit L1+ O till he summon clones and then you can kill that clones with L1+square or just with magic and back again to L1+O. Oh... of course when Gaiga get healed you have to hit the heart fast and back again to Zeus.

I got up to gaia's heart and I didn't know if I should hit her heart or Zeus and I couldn't last long enough to figure out on my own lol. Overall pretty fun
@Delta8271993 A good tactic is to just spam the HELL outta the bow of Appolo. Keep as much distance as possible, cuz at long range he won't often use those clones. He'll just bombard you with lighnting bolts. If your a vet at Gow2 like me, and you beat that on Titan, you should be pro at deflecting him back at him. After he's done with that, just pelt him with arrows. When the heart starts pumping, use the trianglex3 move to silence it. Wash, rinse, repeat. Still takes forever

I found an easier method: Just hit triangle until hes in the air, then jump and grab him. When he falls just keep doing it over and over until he dies.
Maybe not, they can screw the game, like they usually do ...

@ElLechonVirgen Well first of all, I'm not following him on every page and whining about it. I have seen it on three videos because I was stuck on this boss, and well, it's pretty lame to keep repeating the same joke. Secondly, if you're pedantic enough to correct people's grammar on youtube comments and think it's of some significance/importance, then that's your problem, not mine.
After 2 hours all i can say is block, in the begining if your bad at parry just block and do some hits when you see him charge block when he fly's up jump and float until he does that aoe shit when he spawns adds focus on adds screw zeus else you will die even when he runs to heal w8 for him to get there ( stand close when he starts running) and when he touches it start pumping dmg 1-2 hits and he should let go without healing while you keep on pounding to heal yourself repeat and win
easy trick to ending phase 1 and phase 2.
use nemean cestus- and do the spin move and knock him down; (or knock him down however you want)
then hold triangle to send zeus flyiny
then jump up and press circle to grab.
you will knock zeus back to the ground
repeat.
there are a few times where he will float in the air shooting thunderbolts, you can grab him and knock him down at those times too

I must agree. I'm not calling you a cheater but how you're able to be constantly punching Zeus and then block his attackes instantly seems a little much, but hey, perhaps you're the best GoW III player I've ever seen and you can complete the final boss fight of the game without losing any health on the games first hardest difficulty.
@KoolJayJ Ok then, All I want to say is, you shouldn't complain about TITAN MODE, they call the game "GOD OF WAR" for a reason. So it shouldn't be easy at all, just keep at, you can beat Hades and the rest of the game too. I've beaten Titan mode and like you I'm sure Chaos mode will be hard as _______.
@sleeky33 , If any Game in the world is perfect , then it is God of war III . If gow3 isnt worth getting it then no Game on the Ps3 is . GOW3 = best Ps3 Game in my Opinion. But if you buy it i recommend to buy the god of war collection and gow3 .
You couldve atleast grab him with L1+O right about when zeus going to dash you with a clone. You'll get magic orbs

if u beat this in titan difficulty then u r the god of war excellent man.
This is good but using the Nemesis Whip is much better, you can regain your health by hitting Gaia's heart much faster and you can get rid of the clones all at once using magic.
i have an xbox but im interested on this game i always think that zeus was like a giant cloud with human form with thunder and stuff like that im like thiss game alot
@loztcnyc hey i just did it ^_^ as long as you get into the habit of predicting attacks its surprisingly easy. and save your magic for when you're surrounded!

ok.. been trying to beat him by the stupid heart for about 5 hours now.. im about to give up and break the disc in half :( Already broke a controller playing this. sigh I usually do decent and then he does one of his slams or w.e and im dead (from almost full health)

Guys I have a way of defeating Zeus, this will take practice. A soon as Zeus attacks you block with the fleece and use the nemeun cresteus and hold square,occasionally shoot the arrows, and use the magic move as a combo in the second phase

Awesome video... It helped me beat the Gaia/Zeus section.
Zeus' power punches in the first area are very easy to counter... just use the block counter move on his first or second punch and send it right back at him. It always interrupts his 3rd unblockable punch. Also, when he's in the air for the first part, he is grabbable by jumping into the air and pushing the 'O' button. Don't know if this makes it any faster or not. Thanks again for an awesome video!

@WICKEDMAN9MM and the devs let all players release all their frustration that they kept stored since the beggining of the series on zeus after u finally beat him and then punch the fuck out of him non stop.......i kept pressing this "O: button for 5 minutes till i was finally content.

3 series of complete frustration of the never ending zeus fights and armies....the devs wanted us to release all our anger/frustration at these final 10 minutes of complete "punching the fuck of zeus"

I think he meant, "El YouMadBro?" which el in Spanish means "The" so "The YouMadBro" but most likely with spaces, "The You Mad Bro" but that doesn't make any sense so he probably meant (With translation) "The You Mad Bro (face or expression). Just so you know. And I really like your..."Vocab Brutality". Which means your use of vocab by cussing a lot and using brutal remarks.
