- Discussion on The CEC & other EC (Appoint, Conditions of Service &Term of Office) Bill,2023 that the Bills to regulate the appointment, conditions of service and term of office of the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners, the procedure for transaction of business by the Election Commission and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, be taken into consideration.

I think what LK Advani proposed about the formation of commitee to elect CEC and EC's is more practical and very fair.

Why is he not questioning prev governments who never gave say to CJI or even opposition in selection of CEC?

Every1 says truth only. What is truth? Truth is what you believe in.
Kejriwal and chaddha ji were against corruption and parties who does corruption that was truth.
Now they are ready to fight alongside other parties which at sometime or other has been involve in corruption and continue to do so that is also truth.
Now in fact there own party suffering from so many corruption charges that's also a truth.
But they will still call their party and party members corruption free that's also a truth.

@SUBHASHCHAND-ri1zd yes. Who doesn't. And if you are going to raise EVM issue let me tell you my dad is in government job he has attended many elections on poll duty. EVMs are fair. Irrespective of who raise EVM issue BJP, congress, TMC, RLD, SP, BRS, AAP etc every1 is wrong and diverting from actual issue or actual reason of their loss.

Supreme court never claimed that CJI would be alway part of selection committee of chief election commissioner

But the SC suggested the committee should be unbiased. Here the BJP gov. wants to CEC to be their yes man. Through this, they can easily manipulate elections.

@@ankurpandey9899 Why not start with having a selection committee which is unbiased? Why the 3rd member of the selection committee has to be a person from the gov.? Why not someone who is neutral? Why the gov. is not okay with CJI being part of the selection committee?

Because without the Chief Election Commissioner being biased, the BJP won't be able to manipulate elections.
But if 2 members would be from ruling party then it would be bias in its working.
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जब जजों को नियुक्ति के लिए ऐसे हीं पैनल की बात आई जिसमे सीआईआई,पीएम,विपक्ष के नेता होंगे जिसे गलत माना तो चुनाव आयुक्त की नियुक्ति में ये सही कैसे ये सीजेआई और राघव चड्डा जी बताए?
