I love to sleep on my side but am having lots of pain in my shoulders and neck. I am trying to start sleeping on my back but my lower back does not have enough support. I have also tried putting a pillow and a towel under my lower back and that is painful also. Not able to sleep more than a few hours at night.
You know what help radox but when I go sleep on my sette when I turn side so painful would that be a muzzle I pull I’m seeing doctor tomorrow thanks for your lovely advice god bless x
I started sleeping on my stomach due to lower back pain. I found that turning my pillow and placing under my stomach, pelvis, and chest, no pillow under my head really helped. But I am a side sleeper so I will try your method for that tonight! Thanks for the tips!
Brother, you've got a real easy to understand way of explaining things... thank you... in my head I'm also saying I couldn't ever sleep like your suggesting because I also toss and turn too much at night, mostly readjusting for the pain I feel in different places... lower back, hips, shoulders, ankles, sciatica, etc... I'm gonna try several of your suggestions, thank you!! Many blessings your way!
I was having a lot of lower pack pain so I started using that triangle pillow under my legs while I sleep in my back it’s the only way I can sleep I have problems sleeping on my side because I had a rotator cuff surgery and even when I don’t sleep on that side my arm and hand tend to num and feel tingly . Great video Thanks
Great advice, appreciate you sharing this insight, I am a side sleeper and have been sleeping with pillow between knees and smaller pillow under side and surprisingly comfortable so I slept much better, as I normally wake several times through the night, I also was less stiff and achey in the morning when I get up. Good advice 👍🏽
I had such discomfort in my lower back from a sciatica flare up, and it happened right before bedtime, ugh. It had been a while since my last flare up, so I couldn’t remember what I had done in the past to help me sleep when I was in pain. I came across your video and used the information you gave for the side sleeper. The next morning I felt so much better. I tend to stay in one spot when I sleep and the pillows were still in place when I woke up. I only had a twinge of discomfort which I could more than tolerate. Awesome video. It was a tremendous help. Thank you Dr Jared😊
So glad I came across this vid… my back had been killing me for a few weeks to the point where I couldn’t bend and felt like I had nerve damage or a slipped disc or something, but since giving these changes a try, it’s helped improve my back within in a few days! Still going to do physio though, but things a looking good!
Now that explains why i always have sciatica pains during the night when i go to bed. I'm a stomach sleeper.... Everytime i lay flat on my stomach, i can feel the pressure on my hips and feel a burning pain on my leg and down to my foot... This video is really a great help. Thanks 👍

YAY going to try the pillow under my torso, I am a side sleeper and cannot sleep without one between my knees. After about 6-7 hours in bed my LB kills me causing me to have to get up after about 5min pain is gone. Been to chiropractor, massage therapist and work with PT's and no one has ever mentioned one under torso in side lying, will definitely give it a shot tonight. Thank you for your advice I will follow up with results 😀
Thank you so much I’m new her and my bk really been hurting three days now I’m gonna try this thank you so much as before when got up from sette my bk was killing me thanks kindily gonna try this tonight god bless
Hey Tone Thank you so much for making this video I’ve been having some problems with my back for many years Sleeping with the pillows really helped me with my back when I woke up in the morning I don’t have that much pain😭
I think I am having this sciatic nerve pain for 4 weeks now and it's really bad. I think it's related to the way I'm sleeping. You're videos on this top have been helpful. still waiting for the pain to go away. I'm fine once I'm up walking around it's in the evenings when I'm sitting in my chair. The worst is when I wake up in the morning and getting out of bed. Feels like I"m learning to walk again haha. It all must seem to correlate with the 10 hour prolonged standing that I do all day at work, and my sleeping position. I'm 37 and have had problems with this for a while but never like what I've been experiencing for the past month.
These tips really work and the support pillows do their job. My problem (Im sure others will share this!) is what you mentioned in your video - the tossing and turning flings these pillows around. Sometimes they fall off the bed even and with my LBP no way can I bend over to get one :( So I think the solution would be to have someone strap these pillows onto our bodies with big velcro maybe?! Thanks for your great content :)
I’m a tattoo artist and I sit alll day! 😩 for sleeping, would I lay on the painful side or on the opposite side?? I hope that’s not too silly of a question. I honestly never thought I’d be looking up how to sleep properly 😅
I see that you posted your q a year ago with no answer! I am a phisiotherapiest working with lots of back pain patients and as for my experience if you use the pillows or the rolled blankets you should feel more relief if you sleep on that side that is not hurting
As a lifelong stomach sleeper, I just intuitively learned to put a pretty flat pillow on one side of my pelvis while having my forearm and hand tucked underneath the other side of my pelvis for support. It puts my spine in a more neutral position and works like a charm! . . . And I put a dark piece of clothing over my eyes to keep the bogie-man away. 😂
I am a stomach sleeper ever since I was born. I now switch it up to left side with a pillow in between my legs. I currently have lower back pain so I'm definitely adding another pillow for my pelvis.
Thank you so much for this. Idk what it was, but when i did this last night it felt like my lower left side was being stretched ? ( i sleep on my right side ) idk what it was, but it felt so good it knocked me out like a baby! 0 back pain when i woke up. THANK YOU SM

Hi, im 28 and I've been struggling with a herniated disk and every morning i wake up in a lot of pain. I've been having my knees elevated on a rolled up comforter and thats fine, but I cant lie flat on my back or I cant breath well in my sleep because of my sleep apnea. i have to sit up a bit. I have pain in both my left AND my right hip and I tried sleeping on my side with pillows between my legs and the next morning the side i slept on was particularly sore. How much can you have the head/neck elevated when sleeping on your back with a herniated disc?

Tight hip flexors with anterior pelvic tilt w/disc bulge at L4L5, S1 nerve root. Also, levator scapulae trigger points with chronic headaches. If I side sleep, I tend to get a bigger headache but back sleeping is hard with the disc bulge even with pillows. I can’t seem to find a pillow tall enough to take the pressure off my disc. Just wondering does it matter what side you sleep on? Like I got sciatica in my right leg/hip/back area. ( Been going to chrio/doctor for almost 2 yrs and not getting better got MRIs, x rays all looks good besides a slight blug disc they say thats not it..) Anyway back to my question. Would it be better to lay on side/leg that isnt effected? or better to lay on leg/side that is? or does it not matter as long you use pillows etc?

Ha ha! Good luck! I hope you find these helpful!
Do you recommend a specific type of bed to sleep in I currently sleep on a air mattress because every bed I have tried does not help

Great video, and good pointers, but you need to put some foam on your walls, you are getting a lot of echoing in this video!
Thanks for the tip!
Hi I'm a turn and toss person who sleeps on their side. Any tips to keep the pillows from falling out and to be able to turn with
