I'm so glad you're playing this...and that I actually bought the game for $10 after watching your first video. Excited!
Tips:
- When you want to hunt a machine, you should scan it first with your focus.
- When you hit some weak points of a machine, sometimes the weak point breaks and doesn't exist anymore because it is off the machine(like the Blazer of the Striders which is in the back).
- R2 is the heavy attack of the spear while R1 is the light attack.
- There is 2 ways to Craft.1) Through the menu as you know(the time pauses there).2)Throught the left button(the time just slows down).
- When you move on in the game, you will face more and bigger machines.So, it's better to learn to use your bow and the other weapons instead of the spear because close distance won't help you.
- Be sure to upgrade your gear because if you go to Meridian(West) or to the Cut(NorthEast corner of the Map aka the Expansion-DLC) you will lose many fights.It isn't so difficult as I made it sound but it's like a more difficult place than the Embrace(where Aloy starts) and Sacred Lands.
In Conclusion, as far Norther and Wester you go, harder the battles.

This is one of my favorite games; so happy you're enjoying it. It pains me a little that you rush ahead more than I would have (and did), but I suppose people get to play in different ways. I love to explore and "consume" everything, so you can bet I found and helped Odd Grata, sat down and listened to the storyteller in Mother's Hearts, etc. But the important thing is that you are thoroughly enjoying the game, and reacting to it much as I did upon playing through it the first time; loving the acting, the story and the graphics. Will definitely keep watching!
Obtaining Tearblast arrows is essential at an early stage. They remove armour, saving elemental arrows.
It's funny watching you struggle on these little guys! It takes time to recognize attacks from different machines! You have no idea what is to come the farther you go into this game! I'm pumped you're playing it! Its definitely a great game!
This gave me a good chuckle as someone who’s played and finished all the quests and storylines more than 20 times. He definitely picked the wrong skills to get right off the bat, the strike attack was the only good one he got right off the bat. And the fact that he tried to hide again right after a watcher just attacked him and he hid right next to it made me laugh.
I live for this god damn game and I love that you're playing it.

i think he was complaining about needing packs as a general mechanic not that he intended to use it just then. Not unlimited fast travel kind of sucks i think that was what he meant.
This man never knoes how to play stealth in any game I’ve seen him play.
Here's a helpful hint Hollow: You don't always have to hunt wild animals for health, you can pick up certain plants that will heal you as well!

Hollow, you have the right to play the game as you please, of course. A couple of suggestions though:
1. Save up for the Silent Hunter Heavy outfit. If you combine it with some good stealth mods, you're almost invisible and can practically run in front of enemies and never be seen if you take quick cover.
2. Try to save Skill points for the skill "Tinker". Without it, you can't install mods on weapons or outfits as you please. (Any mod you install is permanently on what you put it on) Any time slowing skills are also great for combat(concentration).
3. Try to do more than a couple of side missions, weapon tutorials, hunting grounds or anything outside of the main missions. You get alot of XP, some good amount of shards with them and even skillpoints. (I got to lvl 40 or so without even being half way through the story 😆)
4. Scan enemies and try to study their weaknesses (they'll show up on the notebook). If you don't, it'll be a pain in butt to kill all, but mostly, the bigger enemies.
5.Try to implement sliding+rolling on your playstyle. You're fast as heck this way and it just feels smooth and epic when you're engaging the bots and shooting.
I love that you're playing this game Hollow, the graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is pretty amazing. Btw you missed a really good story just back down the trail, right before you met up with the blacksmith. Also you'll be crafting stuff throughout all the game, so remember to always harvest the most stuff that you can. Can't wait for the next episode my dude, have a good night though.
Yes! Keep your craftables filled up whenever you can. The ONE thing I don't love with this game is the inventory; it fills up too fast, even once you expand you pack.

The spear is for human enemies, not machines! You'll find it useless soon against them and it'd be better to get good at the bow and other weapons ✌

2 years late, but I can’t believe you began the proving with zero health berries, or before you knew how to use them. Or how to pick them up everywhere and keep them full. And directly related: to upgrade the berry pouch to larger.
Tips and tricks: medicine can be picked off the floor (red flowers), faster crafting on the wheel
Bro you're playing this like dark souls, fighting with the spear. I don't mean to be a smartass but that's not how you're supposed to be fighting, your bow, tripcaster, slingshot etc. should be your main damage outputs. The way you're playing rn might work now with these small machines but later in the game when you're going up against a 30ft mechanical t-rex that's shooting lasers and machine guns at you that little toothpick spear won't do you any good. I wouldn't mind watching you play dark souls tho, the way you're fighting here, you could be good at it.

Hopefully some helpfull tips : your compass up top show u where bonfires and other stuff is , and the green bar below ur health i think is ur herb bag wich u use for healing , how empty or full it is.
If you craft a special backpack you get unlimited fast travel. It requires premium quality parts from animal, bird and fish kills. The rarity of the kill appears in the icon when looting skins.
Nyeah… looking at these old gameplays, Hollow is has definitely changed a lot since this was uploaded. 😀

Every camp fire you find becomes a fast travel point. Helps immensely when you unlock vast areas of the map.

I've literally played every difficulty two times over waiting for HZD2. Can't wait.
Don't worry about fast travel costing once you get that one upgrade that gives you ability to fast travel without packs you can remove them all from your inventory as well. In this game if you don't explore things will get harder than they should be! Enemies that seem impossible to kill will become your BIAAACH!
this is like a electronic jurassic park without the VFX on the creatures to make them look real
Tip: find the weak spots aim and jump and your screen wil be in slo mo and shoot the weak spots, and if you scan machines you can hit the canisters with their weakness of element arrows and it wil explode. And if you go to a trader you can buy treasure boxes for free the purple ones they will give you a outfit and a new bow.

The proper way to play this game is with stealth and the spear. Never use your bow to kill machines or animals. How many players actually get good enough to play through this game on ultra hard difficulty. No. 1 priority is to conquere all the cauldrons as fast as you can in order to overide.
The voice actor for Rost is JB Blanc, definitely not anyone who voiced Optimus Prime 😂 but it does sound like it
bro use aloy scan ability as an advantage so you can find those weak points and fire arrows can deal more damage than using melee weapons. it's much better than swinging around like a crazy maniac.

Ill recomend you to keep killing machines until level 11, but in that place only because you will be powerful with the habilities you unlock.

Key to this game is to kill machines using overide against each other and as little resourses as possible.

But seeing Hollow play this make me feel like I’m not that horrible after all😅but I did have a little more time spent on doing the side quest, thus took out many packs of insert name mechanical animals lol. But this game is really fun for hunting craving ppl like me😂
I just wish he saw the blaze he knocked off the first strider that he ran over on his way out. Would of figured out a new feature, and really fun watching hollow discover cause this game is so damn good

Grab all the plants you see you need to loot... and craft alot you'll need it.
Btw Hold L1 and youll open a quick menu wheel thatll let you craft arrows faster im not to far into the vid yet so im saying just incase ya dont find out about the quick menu in this vid, also the treasure boxes give you free stuff basically so make sure to buy them if you can

First playthrough was on hard difficulty. Next multiple playthroughs were all on ultra hard and I can attest that ultra was how the game was really meant to be played to get the best game experience and full AI. capability.
just a tip bro this isn't melee game. u need to scan the enemy so it'll reveal and highlight weak spots on the machine that u try and hit with certain arrows

you need to press r2 for a mush stronger but slower attack!
Scan the machines more and shoot your bow at the yellow highlighted parts it does extra damage and is easier than just trying to kill the machines with your spear
