I will say this is a big step up from the previous RPG AC games so it's a positive in that regard. Parkour is weird becaue it's something you need to feel for yourself to get a good grasp of it, which makes this article tricky to understanding fully.
I just want the ability to remap my controls like the previous couple of entries to make it more similar to the older games. Was a little difficult finding the right mapping but just the ability to do so I hope is still present. Everything else though makes me more optimistic but my main worry is still the combat. It looks decent but will it play decently as well. Never been a fan of the hitbox based combat for AC but it is what it is.
Instead of articles, Ubisoft needs to release trailers focusing on these aspects of the game. But, it does sound like Ubisoft is cooking up something good so I'm pretty hyped.

When it comes to combat, gameplay, UI, the comparisons are fair enough.. but when it comes to parkour, it's an insult to compare GOTs "parkour" to any AC game. And I love GOT.
@@TheHiddenOne690 one hunnet for sure you can compare the parkour and I have a feeling after we experience ac shadows there will be a lot that can’t be compared and I’m a big fan of GoT too but the stealth combat will be made to look silly after
The recovery roll is huge. I took parkour lessons from early on and thats what got me into these games in the first place. Making a jump that feels too high, making the decision to press the button and roll out of it, and then seeing your character carry out your decision on screen is EVERYTHING. It's why I loved the parkour up/down system from Unity. Make a decision, press a button to manually trigger the action you chose, and then watch your character carry out said action on screen. My theory for why there's no Yasuke footage: his parkour is going to be very limited and visually uninteresting. He's the combat guy, wearing full metal armor, carrying a lot of weapons, and his guard ability takes up the same button as Naoe's grappling hook. He probably can't *do* any of the cool moves they want to show off here- maybe even him climbing normal ledges and obstacles will be slower and less graceful. I hope that, if this is true, there'll be multi-phase missions where the characters have to support each other. Use Yasuke to fight a bunch of enemies so Naoe can slip in. Use Naoe to open the gates so Yasuke can stride in and take heads. I'm cautiously optimistic after the last few press releases. I really want Shadows to be a good game, I love the AC games and all their silly ideas, even though the execution can be dumb sometimes.
