      All the best. But, I advise that you start small...say 5-10 plants. Learn all that you can learn with those before scaling up. Even during scaling, do 100-200 first before going in for thousands of try. This variety is just being introduced in Nigeria we still need a lot information on how it will adapt in different parts of the country.

    I doubt if the farmgate price can be N180.
    The biggest apple on the street is sold for N200,so how can the farmers sell for N180?
    Also,cost of cartoon packaging is not included in the analysis.
    Please tell us more you have done a good job

    • @al-abraarapplefarmdiary9630
      @al-abraarapplefarmdiary9630  Год назад +3

      Thanks for your comment sir. Yes the farm gate price may be less than N 180, but as I said even if you assume it to be N 90 /apple and add another N 20/apple as cost of packaging one gets a farm gate price of N 110/ apple Which is still not a bad return. Remember in the video I said if we assume that we are 50%off in the analysis (ie a farm gate price of N 90) it is still not a bad deal.

    • @al-abraarapplefarmdiary9630
      @al-abraarapplefarmdiary9630  Год назад +2

      You're correct. That's why I said this is a very conservative analysis. So, if this conservative analysis, it is compelling enough....then you can imagine that the prospect is really good. Thanks

    • @edimehalfred
      @edimehalfred Год назад

      @@al-abraarapplefarmdiary9630 Yes it is very compelling indeed. The numbers are crazy men. Especially between the second to 4th year. Kate Wambugu use to say at maturity, a tree can give up to 2,500 apples per harvest. When I sat and did the numbers, I am like can this be real? But indeed it is real. And we have the domestic market more than Kenya fa. Apple farming is way to go.
