I think the choice of mage's inclination also depends on the vocation of your arisen, for example if you're a fighter, warrior and especially thief or mystic spearhand, that burn through their stamina very quickly, you need Kindhearted mage, they will babysit you during the fight and cast Celestial paean more often.
On the other hand, archer, magic archer and sorcerer are not so stamina dependent, if you want your mage to stay in backlines and quietly buff the whole team, while avoiding damage, then you need Calm mage. If you have Subtlety augment that lowers aggro and a tank that draws aggro, you dont really need a pocket healer that will interrupt their own spells just to heal you after a few hits
