I mean there is a place for fan service games, if you don't like them don't play them. It's that simple.

They are some genuinely great fanservice and even outright H games but sorting those out from the rest is definitely difficult especially since what gets pushed to the top is usually the raunchiest stuff not neccessarily the most fun gameplay wise. Weirdly there actually does seem to be a surprisingly big market for more softcore stuff I couldn't really tell you why either despite generally falling into that camp myself though. Maybe people get access to it in their teens cause it's just tame enough and get kinda attached to the style even into adulthood if I had to guess.

Senran Kagura, I actually enjoyed the story isn’t a masterpiece but it’s better than most Anime’s when it comes to developing it’s female characters and doing tropes better than most Anime’s in the first four games that was the normal SK gameplay not the spin offs, anyway I was already used to fanservice, so I don’t act stupid when I see it (Like oh my gosh did you see the jiggle physics herr)
So I was able to pay attention to what was going on and I gotta say it’s not perfect by any means but it’s a pretty alright little contained plot they had going on in a few games.
As for the gameplay I can say that Senran Kagura is definitely not a button masher you had to be playing the game on easy mode because there’s only five characters you can button mash with where they won’t have a cool down or are slow, on the hardest difficulty some of the enemies are quite a nuisance especially with slower characters it’s annoying sometimes and two of the character bosses are quite F,ing rage inducing on the hardest difficulty.

I only played Burst Renewal. As far as fanservice games go, it's definitely one of the better ones. It isn't shy on the fanservice, and juggling enemies is pretty fun. I only played through once on normal, but it felt really easy outside of the final boss.
I think the best fanservice game I played was Valkyrie Drive. I'd even say it has a damn good combat system, better than a lot of action games.

@@RushHourWeekend Oh yeah on the hardest difficulty it’s a lot more challenging and I’m in total agreement there that SK was the best fanservice game it did deliver on what it is and provided an actual game which is why it was so popular as it was because not just the fanservice but it was actually fun to play it’s like the first steps into hack n slash with it being fast paced responsive and a lot of people liked the characters, which is why I think Samurai Maiden failed it just wasn’t that fun it was honestly kinda slow especially with attacking and the dodging wasn’t that great either it honestly just…..I don’t know what the game was trying to do on one hand it wanted to bait the yuri lovers but that went as far as point zero so I’m like do they like each other or no, then it tries to have fanservice but didn’t have any there so why promote like they did?!And the story was I’m not sure what they were going for I think it’s a Isekai but she’s asleep so I’m not sure it counts.
Even SK was better in that case as it was straightforward felt like a female Ninja fanservice Shonen good girls vs the bad girls, some interesting stuff in between, evil leader of bad girls wanted to release a Snake demon for power from the two ancient scrolls, everyone defeats it, they become friends then after and happy ending, nice and simple plot to follow but with Samurai Maiden it just didn’t really do anything with everything it had set up and then you couldn’t even play as the other three characters in the game their just assist aids which only the Fox girl was good to use as she used her hammer for crowd control, the other two not so much unless it was for situational reasons in the level.
So yeah I’d give SM a 6/10 it’s playable/functional and looks decent, music is ok but definitely not worth buying IMO unless you wanna try it out but if your buying Samurai Maiden for fanservice there’s none here and everything else is just mediocre in a negative way, as for Valkyrie Drive I’ve never played it but heard of it and since you said it’s good I’ll tell people play that, Senran Kagura and the newest game Stellar Blade if they want a good fun game with hack n slash/ sword play and a spice of fanservice.
