Precious doggos -- always willing to help, never actually helping!
Katie, I'm the commenter who taught you how to swing the axe last time over your shoulder. To swing sideways, it's the same concept, use your right hand to slide down to your left hand as you swing sideways similarly to over head. You'll use far less muscles and hit harder. As your right hand slides you are also pressing your hand towards the target, and you want to try to have your right hand meet your left hand at the same time as the target. Good Luck.
Katie please please protect your eyes when chipping concrete, it’s so unpredictable!! We all love your determination and skill set, we enjoy the progress and your generosity in sharing a lifestyle few of us could manage. Long may you continue .
I know you aren't going to want to hear this, but whoever built those concrete block walls did a really good job. That was a hard, hard job getting rid of it.
I was thinking about building my next house out of filled concrete block with rebar.... now I'm convinced.
My old, arthritic joints hurt just from watching that! It gives me some comfort to see how robust a block wall can be with some rebar in it. I need to do a few retaining walls and feel confident they won't go anywhere built like THAT!
Greg proved single handedly there are only two genders, male and female. No woman could do what he just did and Kate is a strong, tough, hard working woman. Thank you Greg👋💪💪
Katie, when you swing the sledge, slide both hands to the end after you get it moving. This may seem uncomfortable at first but it will make your swings more powerful. Watch Greg. Don't tell him we told you the secret! Not a criticism, just trying to help... we can't shout loud enough for you to hear us encouraging you through the tv!
Also Katie, position your front food much much nearer the wall or item you’re trying to pulverise.
Watch Greg’s foot position & try to emulate.
It’s a bit like a golf swing focus the effort & power at the bottom of the swing and let your effort force some of the effort to be a follow through!
Very nice Tanya Harding there!
After Greg knocked the walls down it was good to get in the Hot Tub. Katie love how the dogs and goats love to play together, guess your new ones feel so happy with that amazing home they have. Loving watching you both tackling jobs. Love to you both ❤️💙🥰🥰xx
Wow.. I’ve always respected people that work hard.. you both have gained my respect. Love your channel.. keep up the hard work!
You guys are great. That new puppy has won my heart, & the crying goat is starting to settle. Great work lately.
Good idea adding the wood strips to reenforce the plastic sheeting! Works really well.
Katie you rock girl not many would even attempt swinging the sledgehammer. I bet its a great feeling that all the bricks are gone ❤️🇨🇦
hello Katie & Greg & It's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Katie &Greg Friends Randy
Greg is a one man wrecking crew! And the hot tub is working good for both of your aching muscles. Your puppy has grown so much. By spring time you might have the siding up on the house. So busy with many projects. Peace Love Happiness 💖💖
Ow, I'm sore just watching you guy's swing that monster at solid concrete ! You have to be in Olympic athlete condition. Thanks for all you do to bring this to us !!!
THAT BIG YELLOW dozer would make short work of those walls.
I would use your off cuts to support the plastic sheets. Put a footer board across the bottom then run vertical boards to support the plastic, nailing the bottom and top to the footer and header.
That section on the right end looks like a good spot for the sawmill
Eye protection is so important ! You guys come up with some creative solutions for problems you face !
It's great you have a place to work protected from some of the elements.
I love how you pushed Fat Boy out of the way, he doesn’t give a hoot, noses his way back to danger place. It’s so obvious these guys trust you not to ever hurt them, so nice. Love those goats, well all your animals!
I love watching. I want to see more of the buck-toothed goat! Watching from Albuquerque, New Mexico
What a lot of strength and hard work that took Greg, brilliant work and hope youre ok that was brutal xx
You are very lucky to have the wife you do!
Man, that’s a rough tear down of that concrete, sorry it couldn’t be used in the shop. Working out of the weather will be nicer and a much needed barn/shop will be very nice. Thanks for sharing your journey, go rest your bodies a bit❤😊
@ 15:10 in future if you wrap chicken wire of some sort of fencing around the building first the plastic will last through wind storms
Now that was a lot of heavy work. U 2 are so determined to make everything you do work. ❤
Nice teamwork.
Watched a few demolitions, and they use a long large drill bit and drill into blocks first, it weakens it before u hit it! Hope this helps ⚒
@@ThisOffGridLife. ??
I think you should add more wooden lath strips from post to post. it will help support the plastic walls in the breeze
This is what an SDS drill is for.
My muscles ache just watching you with that sledge hammer!! That is determination! 💪🏼
😊Katie, swinging a 10 lbs sledge is not your forte, but well done for having a go. But you do excel at many many things. Go girl go.
I would not like to get on the wrong side of you Katie the way you threw that concrete bustin hammer oh my goodness you and Greg are my most favourite people to watch o YT never disappoint or show any feelings of being a little low 🧢 off too you both 😘
That looks like a great way to make some temporary work space! Aspen is getting HUGE! Great music as well. 👍
Put a floating ball in your water tanks AND they won't freeze totally!!👍👍🙏🙏💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Greg I hope you were joking when you said Kathy is lazy. She works just as hard as you do. 😅😅😅 I hope she feels better soon. Have a great Day.
Been married 53 years, please never again call your mate names.
Looking like shop would make a great greenhouse, heck halfway built. Concrete demo makes for a long day good on ya.
To defend against strong gusts, drape some X-figure poly clothes washing line over the plastic coverings.💯
Hot tubbin in January in Canada 🇨🇦!! YOU TWO are as tough as that wall you just knocked down. Keep on keepin on. Love that you just keepin on.
God, I can’t believe you guys got all of that concrete out of there. I hope you don’t develop tendinitis from overusing your arms.. I hope your hot tub feels awesome☮️❤️
I feel like even a heavy drill with chisel action would have got through that fairly quickly! Don’t envy the pain!
Oooooh! The Bludgeonator, I like it! 😮😂😂😂😂
Edit: Greg, you beat Katie at the laziness with this… 🤔😂 16:35 Just poking fun, I don’t mean any offense by it. Love you guys and stay warm! ❤
You guys definitely deserve the time in the hot tub! What a lot of work you guys accomplish! I keep seeing the benefits of ice baths. Have you thought about those?❤
Wow that was epic! 🎉🎉🎉
You had the perfect opportunity to buy a Princess Auto jack hammer and you blew it! I'm hurting from just watching this one! Thanks for sharing. 😁😉
Well done guys..... you did it, I'm sure it will work fine till your ready to make a bigger structure....
Yeppers 👍 that's going to be a nice work shop 😄. Tearing that wall down made me tired 😫 an I was sitting in my recliner 🤣. Thanks 👍 for sharing.
Great workout at the gym, people pay to get a CrossFit workout like that. Way to stay with the demolition till done. I can envision 4 posts dug 16 to 20 feet out from the peak of the new space, some freshly cut beams and roof joists, some strapping and roof steel and what a great future barn you would have. If your looking for a new spring summer project for youtube😊
"I'm really looking forward to this". LOL
Smashing that concrete.. hard core. woot woot
You two are outstanding!!Great job guys!!!😇!😇!😇!
Heck yeah if you match that slope and go down the other way, so it’s twice as big that’ll be a nice little workshop and big enough to park the tractor and quads in if you wanted to
Your goats are your buddies, that's cute. Great job on the concrete
roofing nails have big heads on then for plastic harder to pull out in wind time.
That's very cool hot tub! My wife and I are going to build one just like it on our farm!!
I think I remember your friend (or neighbor) had a 50 lb maul? Just sayin'!! You are both such hard workers. Hugs from Texas.
Katie, I didn't think it was even possible, but you earned another big dose of respect and admiration for your work ethic and can do attitude. You never cease to amaze me, you will and can do just about anything. I was surprised to see Greg was able to even lift his arms the next day. You both did such a huge amount of work, you made me hurt and ache just watching you. The effort turned out good and should be helpful in the weeks ahead. You also learned you need a larger space so can begin to think that over and plan for it before spring comes. Have a great week ahead you guys. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
I think I would have rented a pneumatic hammer. But I am a couch potato. You two are strong people. Lots of respect.
The place is looking nice
Rocks and broken bits of concrete along bottom edges of plastic to keep the animals and wind out. Great job!
Ohhh gosh your back is going to be so sore! Isn't it fun demolishing things though?! Woot! ✌️🇨🇦
Hi Kids, are you having fun today. you want to lean the hard way. Well be safe doing it A
Super Greg to the rescue!
I was a plumber when I was younger. I used a 20 pound sledgehammer to bust concrete 10 pounds one handed.
Supporting the plastic sheeting will reduce the amount of movement of the sheet. Suggest 20" or less between verticals.
Katie, if I did what you do, I would have a headache, backache, and an ache everywhere else!!!!!
if you are going to enclose it you should have a wood stove in there too to help with milling and staining the wood.
I tried just staples and the first wind took my plastic out. Staples over a CC cardboard piece works better. Look for some greenhouse wiggle wire and tracks. Fast and holds great.
An Air Chisel (Super cheap at Princess Auto, Harbor Freight etc.) Would make quick work of that wall.
You two are living a good life!
Damn right we are!
Looked good
Will watch for your next video in about a month when you to recover! lol
Do some rearranging, you can make that space work for a while.
Harbor freight hand held air jack hammer...game changer!
Plumb the hot tub next to the workshop and use the stove to heat the inside
Hi there, good old uncle T. used a sledgehammer comparable to yours to kill a strong ,(lots of rebar in it), very old chicken coop foundation -- he had sweaty hands and the hammer handle was slippery. So came what had to come - the tool flew away ------ right into my grandma's kitchen window. Loud clinking and then death silence. Grandma appeared at the window ------------- and poor uncle T. got THE look. yeah --- walking down the memory lane -- All the best to you!
That sledgehammer is for you when you get out of line haha
In reality, you don’t need wood to keep warm !! A little concrete will be enough 🤣🤣
Katie, you are pushing the hammer. Needs to be a full on swing. Like was said, “slide your right hand to the end as you bring the hammer around. 😊
That’s what I call a=s busting work , whoever put that in wanted it to stay put.
Greg you did a great job 👍🏽knock it out of the ballpark 🤭 Katie your always kicking butt 👍🏽 great team work 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This old WVA man absolutely loves your channel. I just wish they were longer ❤
Those were some serious kneewalls...lol 😂😅 Rebar, poured solid, someone did not want them to move. Guess hard work and determination got them gone! 😊 Awesome that ya'll were able to relax in the hottub, we'll probably be seeing more of that. Love ya'll ❤️
Now, that's a Great hot tub! You deserved it. Lot's of hard work. Big hugs from wet Santa Barbara. El Nino is going to rain on us. Prediction 2 to 7 inches next 5 days. 😎🙏🤗😘🍷😘💕
Now that’s some solid concrete 😂😂 it gave you and that new sledge hammer a challenge for sure
She is not lazy. She's the hardest working woman I've ever seen 💪
As you were keeping at it, I could tell just how much fun you made out of that job. Truth being said - I can't handle that much fun.. 😁
As a long time subscriber, I love you guys. ❤❤
Great ending to the video. Katie!
Good morning to you all
Awesome job and video. Greg's log director would fit perfectly in there to
Looks terrific guys👏👏👏👏
Greg you are the man!
Good job you guy's 👏
That was some strong concrete forms to break out..
Enjoy the hot tube and the cute puppy is getting bigger fast.
Awesome job and awesome couple. Great job great place to work and stay dry.
Brilliant - That's a huge improvement to the shed and for working during the rest of winter
The goats wanna get in on the action
Keep up the good work ! I'm sore watching ya all !
GREAT JOB, EVERYTHING HAPPY, PLAY TIME.
Thank you I all love the video
