So many aircraft came down locally. Some German even. My gran lived on the edge of Thorne moors and remembered several planes coming down. One is still there on Thorne moors in an area called ‘middle moor’. Another downed plane was in a field on the outskirts of Moorends which was repaired at the site and reflown.
