I'm in PS now for a few months, and can't believe it's as magical now as it was 40 years ago. I don't know whether to stay here or to be closer to the kids.

I hope you enjoy your stay! 😃 That's a hard decision to make. Maybe if you get a place, you would see them more because you would be living in a vacation destination haha!

If you live west of Washington and have SoCal Edison electric but also have solar, does that then make it comparable to IID?

I currently live west of Washington and have SoCal Edison with solar panels. There are many factors to take into account. If you purchased a home with paid-off solar panels, then it would be comparable to IID, depending on how many panels are on the house. If you are purchasing solar panels, you also need to consider the costs of the panels versus the reduced energy bill each month. In the long run, it will be worth it, but if you're moving in the next few years, it might not be. We paid for our solar panels outright, and I would say it's comparable but still more expensive than IID. The solar panels certainly help!
