I thought for the longest time that Mr. Luggs was a cyclops in the first game (as in he only had one eye) and was beyond confused when I saw he had two beady eyes in this game. Then when I went to check to make sure I wasn’t just being stupid, I realized that he always had two eyes and that I was mistaking his nose for either the iris, or in other words, I was being stupid 😂😂😂

I think that the ghosts want to return to their paintings when they see Prosafia (Luigi) approaching with the Poltergust 3000, because when I try to catch the ghosts, they are a 50% more difficulty. (Or maybe I can not play, let's hope it's the first option)

XxCordovaManxX Boolossus has always been my favorite. I love the challenge and if you practice, he should become muscle memory. Bogmire is a close second. I loathe Biff Atlas just because there's so much stuff in that room and you're likely to get stuck on stuff.

I don't see how you got the gold portrait for Nana and Biff Atlas because for his time I got 00 : 49 . 00 and didn't loose any health and I've been trying to get a hold portrait and I still don't know how I can get it
Portrait Ghosts struggle more, drop more poison mushrooms and have 1.5x Health. Some Portrait ghosts have more specific changes: Chauncey will summon larger horses and bounce faster. Bogmire teleports faster and Shadow-Bogmires are faster Boolosus moves faster and Boos are more wary of ice. (Boos may be more aggressive too) Vincent Van Gore spawns 5 of each ghost instead of 3. King Boo charges faster and will throw a bomb that explodes early more frequently. Pillars in the Arena will also not produce hearts if he destroys them. Amiibo are also not permitted in the Portrait Battles.
Huh, I see they changed the Chauncy fight a bit. Used to be he chucked an additional 2 horses at you at lower health. As for Boolosous, god does he bring back some bad memories. One of my all-time least-favorite bosses. Between the boos cheap-shotting me from off-camera and the delay on the ice attack (which only occurred during this fight), it was not a fun experience. So if i got left with only one boo I was pretty much screwed. Did anyone else have a problem with the ice attack on the gc version?
OML NO! I remember one of the time I played this game for the game cube I was trying to catch the last boo for 30 MINUTES. I WAS READY TO KILL THAT STUPID BOO!...I was so happy when I finally caught that thing... Until I realized... That the power outage came after boolosous
I already got a gold painting as well as the platinum one for him. What I did was hold down both the element and vacuum controls (which by default would use the vacuum) then when a boo got near released it causing the ice to come while leaving them little to no time to escape. the last boo was tricky but I eventually got him and got my platinum and before that gold painting of him both on this and the game cube version.
Oh yeah. The GameCube version was hard when it came down to 1 damn boo. Especially if you wanted to collect ALL the money. However in this version, it’s a lot easier.
Question regarding the soldiers in area 4. I perfected one of them but no pearls came out! Do I still get gold frame? Or is it triggered only by the one that releases the pearls?? Thanks.
Portaleer You have to get the perfection on the blue one. That’s the only one that counts for what frame you get. So do him last so the other two won’t bother you.
18:06 Honestly? SCREW. THIS. PORTRAIT. GHOST. He is the hardest one to get the platinum frame on since he relies on more RNG than ANY of the other portrait ghosts in the game. He was the last one I have to do and I still struggle getting him down to 10 HP or lower for the platinum. Not to mention he's in Area 3! No other portrait ghost after him is anywhere near as difficult to get the platinum! Not Sir Weston, Clockwork Soilders, Boolosus heck not even the final boss is anywhere near as hard to get the platinum as this buff ghost! Easily the worst portrait ghost to get the platinum in the game!
If u mess up on a portrait ghost or boss can u do a portrait battle to get platinum on them or do u have to redo the whole story in the hidden mansion?

Favorite ghost is King Boo. Awesome design, decent fight, cool portrait and great music. Least favorite ghost is Chauncy. Unfair fight (in hidden mansion mode) weird music, WTF scream animation, to much stress.
how do you stop the ghost from randomly breaking away? Luigi can be standing strait up but they still break off. Also the ghost can just keep running in circles and their seems to be no way to win that. Can I lead them. I'm trying to get gold but it feels very rng.
A trick I use is I let go of the circle pad everytime the ghosts health go down by ten for just a second or so. So basically pull, let go, pull, let go, etc. But only let go for literally just a sec! Don't keep it there for too long. I hope that makes sense xD
JustStache I also need help with this. I’m just trying to get all gold portraits for now at least cuz platinum seems way to hard for me atm. So without breaking the line I need to just keep holding the opposite direction the ghost is in? Or do I keep pulling the control stick in the opposite direction? It’s hard to react to it because their movement is so random and quick! I’ve got only 3 left to get all gold but Biff, Slim Bankshot and Mr. Luggs all seem to break the line so easily. Any advice?

Some ghosts are different like Chauncey and Bogmire because the line WILL break so be sure your health is 95+. Bookoseus is another exception. But for the rest 141 in one go is a must for platinum. Health wise I actually don’t think it has to be above 95. I’ve had cases where I got the granny ghost in one go and had 89 health and I got platinum. Aside from the three exceptions I mentioned as long as you drain over 141hp you got yourself a platinum. I’ve got all platinum portraits aside from van gore and that’s what I learned
The game didn't explain it very well, but you actually have to pull in the opposite direction that the ghost is *facing*. For example, If Luigi's back is to the screen and the ghost is in front of him, not facing the back wall, but facing to the right, then you must move your joystick to the left. This way, as both Luigi and the ghost are facing the same direction, the HP goes down at a rapid pace. I hope this helps you..... 8 months later.
It's fine if you're making an exception to the "no damage" rule for the banana peels, but you should probably put a note of that in the description, and change the title to say "(No Damage*)" or something.

As for Boolosous, god does he bring back some bad memories. One of my all-time least-favorite bosses. Between the boos cheap-shotting me from off-camera and the delay on the ice attack (which only occurred during this fight), it was not a fun experience. So if i got left with only one boo I was pretty much screwed. Did anyone else have a problem with the ice attack on the gc version?

OML NO! I remember one of the time I played this game for the game cube I was trying to catch the last boo for 30 MINUTES. I WAS READY TO KILL THAT STUPID BOO!...I was so happy when I finally caught that thing... Until I realized... That the power outage came after boolosous
I already got a gold painting as well as the platinum one for him. What I did was hold down both the element and vacuum controls (which by default would use the vacuum) then when a boo got near released it causing the ice to come while leaving them little to no time to escape. the last boo was tricky but I eventually got him and got my platinum and before that gold painting of him both on this and the game cube version.
Oh yeah. The GameCube version was hard when it came down to 1 damn boo. Especially if you wanted to collect ALL the money. However in this version, it’s a lot easier.
It's a great idea to fight against every boss and potrait ghost again without always to play all areas again.

Portaleer You have to get the perfection on the blue one. That’s the only one that counts for what frame you get. So do him last so the other two won’t bother you.

He is the hardest one to get the platinum frame on since he relies on more RNG than ANY of the other portrait ghosts in the game.
He was the last one I have to do and I still struggle getting him down to 10 HP or lower for the platinum. Not to mention he's in Area 3! No other portrait ghost after him is anywhere near as difficult to get the platinum! Not Sir Weston, Clockwork Soilders, Boolosus heck not even the final boss is anywhere near as hard to get the platinum as this buff ghost! Easily the worst portrait ghost to get the platinum in the game!
If u mess up on a portrait ghost or boss can u do a portrait battle to get platinum on them or do u have to redo the whole story in the hidden mansion?
You can rematch them with the portrait battle and if you do better it will update your rank!

Favorite ghost is King Boo. Awesome design, decent fight, cool portrait and great music.
Least favorite ghost is Chauncy. Unfair fight (in hidden mansion mode) weird music, WTF scream animation, to much stress.
I've always hated the Nana portrait fight the balls kept on being annoying by some how hitting me multiple times. Atleast your good!!!
how do you stop the ghost from randomly breaking away? Luigi can be standing strait up but they still break off. Also the ghost can just keep running in circles and their seems to be no way to win that. Can I lead them. I'm trying to get gold but it feels very rng.

Any tips for ghosts don't dragging you and breaking the link? I had no trouble in GC version but in 3DS I am having a very hard time
A trick I use is I let go of the circle pad everytime the ghosts health go down by ten for just a second or so. So basically pull, let go, pull, let go, etc. But only let go for literally just a sec! Don't keep it there for too long. I hope that makes sense xD
JustStache I also need help with this. I’m just trying to get all gold portraits for now at least cuz platinum seems way to hard for me atm. So without breaking the line I need to just keep holding the opposite direction the ghost is in? Or do I keep pulling the control stick in the opposite direction? It’s hard to react to it because their movement is so random and quick! I’ve got only 3 left to get all gold but Biff, Slim Bankshot and Mr. Luggs all seem to break the line so easily. Any advice?

Oddly enough the sad part about this is that of all the bosses to get a platinum portrait on the final boss is the easiest.

I think it's 141HP. And other requirement is no damage
Some ghosts are different like Chauncey and Bogmire because the line WILL break so be sure your health is 95+. Bookoseus is another exception. But for the rest 141 in one go is a must for platinum. Health wise I actually don’t think it has to be above 95. I’ve had cases where I got the granny ghost in one go and had 89 health and I got platinum. Aside from the three exceptions I mentioned as long as you drain over 141hp you got yourself a platinum. I’ve got all platinum portraits aside from van gore and that’s what I learned
I forgot king boo is the last exception. Each hit deals wayy over 5hp so for this ghost it has to be no damage to get platinum
How to make the meter go down faster
I have no idea. They say opposite direction but it doesnt work half the time :/
The game didn't explain it very well, but you actually have to pull in the opposite direction that the ghost is *facing*. For example, If Luigi's back is to the screen and the ghost is in front of him, not facing the back wall, but facing to the right, then you must move your joystick to the left. This way, as both Luigi and the ghost are facing the same direction, the HP goes down at a rapid pace. I hope this helps you..... 8 months later.
